Dev Tracker Summary: April 10th, 2012 – April 16th, 2012

Hello, and welcome to this week’s Dev Tracker blog. Each week, we’re going to be collecting the most important developer responses that show up in our Dev Tracker and collating them into this digest.

Studio GM and BioWare co-founder Dr. Greg Zeschuk posted an important update about the expansion of our Legacy promotion.

 

Principal Lead Combat Designer Georg Zoeller was back on the forums this week, responding to many things related to combat.

He started off by letting people know that he and his team are working on allowing the reverse engineering of Battlemaster orange gear.

He clarified that unless an item clearly states “Research Available”, then there is no chance for learning anything from it through reverse engineering.

He congratulated players for solving the mystery of the Unusual Egg.

He told players that both factions have access to the magenta crystal shards.

He teased players about the mysterious Hoth tauntaun and talked about how there are more mysteries to discover.

 

Lead Game Designer Daniel Erickson addressed Warzone concerns and outlined some changes that are coming soon.

 

Sr. Designer Austin Peckenpaugh confirmed the specific changes to Death From Above in the Bounty Hunter forum.

He also asked for suggestions on what Inquisitors and Consulars would ideally like to have to potentially replace the Unity and Sacrifice abilities.

He addressed concerns and explained the rationale for the changes to Grav Round in the Trooper forum.

He explained why Commandos weren’t offered a free respec in Game Update 1.2.

He talked about how pleased he was with the reception for the Commando’s new Emergency Medical Probe ability.

 

Assistant Designer Cameron Winston briefly discussed how to submit a bug report.

 

Sr. Online Community Manager Stephen Reid posted about compensation for people that were affected by patching issues on April 11th and the unexpected downtime on April 13th.

 

And last but not least, Community Production Coordinator Alyson Bridge posted a thread for both the Darth Malgus contest and the upcoming scheduled maintenance in General Discussion.
