It’s time for our first Community Round-Up of 2013. Each week, we scour the forums, fan sites, and reddit, finding some of the most interesting discussions in the community as well as player-created events happening on certain servers in The Old Republic™.

If you have nominations for next week’s Round-Up, please post them in this thread. Please remember the Community Round-Up blog is meant to highlight interesting, productive discussions and server events - not the most talked about forum threads.

Server Events

Get to know the community on your server by participating in player-created events. Below are some occurring this week! Be sure to take a look at the Server Forums to find other events happening on your individual server.

• [Begeren Colony] Open World PvP – Friday: “Ascension Strikes Back will be... striking... back... this Friday, 7-9PM PST at Ilum for one last nostalgic open world PvP evening before the Ilum revamp. Get a huge ops group together like old times and go kill bad guys!”
• [Begeren Colony] Ranked PvP: “MONDAYS: Grim Determination and Ascension Strikes Back are queueing (competitive) ranked Monday, January 28, 7:30PM PST. Contact Melyn (Republic, ASB) or Approxy (Imperial, GD) for questions about what happens those nights.”
• [Begeren Colony] EMPIRE Faction Event - 1/27/13 - Duel Tourney with Prize! - Be there!: “What: A Faction-wide DUEL TOURNAMENT; and after, an in-character meet-and-greet. When: Sunday, January 27th @ 6:30pm PST. Where: Dromund Kaas Spaceport for the Tournament; Nexus Cantina for the RP Mixer (after the tournament). Who: All Imperial-aligned players are invited to join in or come to watch - spread the word!”
• [Dalborra] UPDATED Dueling Tournament: "The competition will be 8 competitions, 1 between each advanced class, with the top two of each AC going into the grand tournament at the end. The grand tournament at the end would then feature 16 of the best pvpers on the server with all classes represented."
• [Jedi Covenant] [PvP World Event] Republic Invasion on Dorn Base, Hoth: “WHERE: Hoth - Dorn Base (-2638, 103). WHEN: January 26 @ 9pm Eastern / 8pm CST. OBJECTIVE: Kill the enemy.”
• [Jung Ma] Alpha Company RP-Patrol Schedule: “Monday: Hoth 8:00PM EST. Tuesday: Tatooine 8:00PM EST. Wednesday: Alderaan 8:00PM EST. Thursday: Belsavis 8:00PM EST”
• [Jung Ma] EVENT: Nar Shadda Tournament 1/26/13: “I am A'shrak of Clan Epsis, and I am here to announce that on the 26th of January, at 8pm server time, Clan Epsis will be sponsoring a Tournament to be held on Nar Shadda at the Promenade. This Tournament will be open to all players level 30 and up, with tiers being used to separate players so that we don't have a level 30 player going up against a level 50 player...unless they really want to, that is.”
• [Jung Ma] A Huge Party: “Lords and Ladies of the Empire. It is my honor to invite you all to The Imperial Guards 10th anniversary. The Imperial Guard was created in the last week of January 2003 for Star Wars Galaxies. I am inviting all Imperials to help us celebrate this moment in our guild history. On January 25th @ 10pm EST in the Kaas city courtyard in front of the Monument to Lord Ergast. There will be dancing, fireworks, music and friends. It doesn't matter what guild you are from, please come out have fun, relax and enjoy.”
• [Jung Ma] Re-Occuring events on Jung Ma: “This is a compilation of ALL the re-occuring events on the Jung Ma server. These events can be anything from Open World PvP, Rated Warzone runs, Operation Runs, or Roleplay and social events.”
• [Prophecy of the Five] Imps Announcing the first DARK TOURNAMENT: “Venue and Time The tournament will be held in the Voss neutral grounds on Sunday, February 10th with the first Match beginning at 1:00PM Eastern Standard time.”
• [Prophecy of the Five] Monthly Meet n Greet and Guild Rush: “This is open to both Imperial and Republic folks. What I would also like to do is to make this a Guild Rush Event as well. Many guilds lost folks during the transfers and many folks lost Guild as well. Sent out some Representatives for your guild and folks looking for guilds then can talk to different folks and get hooked up with a guild that suits their needs. We can do a one stop shop for folks looking for guild to join. Location - Silppery Slopes Cantina - Lower Promenade Nar Shadaa. When - 9:00 pm Server Time Friday January 25th”
• [The Bastion] +++++ 2v2 Tournament Brackets +++++: “First round deadline is TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5th”
• [The Bastion] <POD RACING EVENT> Feb 2nd, Saturday - all factions welcomed: “The rules are simple. Starting/finishing line - don't attack. But anything in between those two points, kill/sabotage. All factions welcome.”
• [The Ebon Hawk] Wednesday Night Datacron Expedition & World Boss Hunt [Imperial]: “The Third Season of the Former "Tuesday Night Datacron Expedition & World Boss Hunt" will now be on Wednesdays (had to change due to RL conflict) starting on Wednesday Jan 23rd, 2013. We will be starting out on Hutta/Korriban and working our way up through the planets getting all the datacrons and hunting the world bosses as possible (and other elite mobs and pretty much everything that gets in our way). We end the season with a run for the +10 to all stats datacrons.”
• [The Ebon Hawk] Jerc's Friday Fight Club!: “So, let's make it a regular thing. Every Friday at 3pm EST we'll start things up on Tattoine. Bring health packs, grenades and whatever else you need. No rules. Just some ole fashion rope-a-dope in the pit.”
• [The Harbinger] organized open world pvp: “I have been wanting to do this for a while. I would LOVE to get a few guilds from each faction (of course) and plan out an open world pvp even. Pick a planet a date and time and have a blast. Could even use the old battle grounds on ilum. I would like feed back and see what everyone thinks.”
• [The Red Eclipse] Fist fighting in outlaw's den social event (want to see feedback): “Because I like social events in the game I decided to try and organise one of my own. My idea is fist fighting in outlaw's den, and I will explain everything shortly. I was fist fighting with a guildie the other day and some people started to cheer, so I was thinking, why not make it bigger?”
• [Tomb of Freedon Nadd] Sunday, February 2nd - 3v3 tournament: “I wanna announce the next week's even which is going to be a 3v3 tourny on Tatooine. It'll be held on Sunday, February 2nd. Gonna mail you the exact time of the tourny through ingame mail.”
• [Tomb of Freedon Nadd] Battle Of Tatooine: “This week Our guild The Jedi will be at The Datacron Sandcrawler on Tatooine from 8pm GMT Saturday 26/01/13.”
