San Diego Comic-Con is the single largest pop culture event in North America, attracting over one hundred thousand passionate comic book, movie and video game fans each year. This year is looking to be another big year for the event and both BioWare and LucasArts will be there to make some announcements about Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, and once more give people the chance to get their hands on the game.

As your character progresses in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, you will gain experience and strength, learning new skills and earning more advanced gear.

E3 2011 was a huge success for Star Wars™: The Old Republic, with thousands of fans and journalists streaming through our booth to get some hands-on time. The excitement was palpable and many people waited in line for several hours before finally getting into the booth. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive and we are truly humbled by all of the enthusiasm and excitement for the game.

Many people in attendance at this year’s E3 had the chance to slip behind closed doors and see a live demo of a previously unseen portion of Alderaan. In it, a group of players confronts a Republic war hero-turned-power hungry King who has seized the throne in a misguided bid to protect his people from an impending Sith invasion.

We wanted to share the experience with the community as well, so we put together this video to capture the highlights of the mission to bring down the would-be King of Alderaan.

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo was a resounding success, with over 46,000 people filing through the doors of the Los Angeles Convention Center to see the latest the video game industry has to offer. Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ was one of the most popular games on the show floor, attracting large crowds of people throughout the week, many of whom stood in line for up to five hours to get some hands-on time with the game.

Over the past week, we have shown attendees at E3 and community members here some of the many ways that Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ adds a new dimension to the traditional MMO experience. To sum it all up, we wanted to provide a fast and convenient way to get a preview of the many features the game has to offer.
