Today we are excited to release our first episode of the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Free-to-Play Insider Preview. This new video series is your window into the latest news and information on the new Free-to-Play option coming to The Old Republic™ this Fall. The first video provides insight into the features offered to Free-to-Play players and Subscribers. Take a first look at the new Cartel Market as well as get answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about the Free-to-Play option.

An ancient portal, known as a Hypergate, has been opened on the Gree world of Asation, and now unspeakable beasts are spilling out from the other side. These creatures threaten to quickly overrun the few who remain and put the planet into total chaos. In a last ditch effort to fight back the invaders, the Republic and the Sith Empire assembled groups of its most powerful heroes to head to Asation, fight their way through the endless hordes of warped monsters, and close the Hypergate before the world is lost.

In “Terror from Beyond”, you will be called upon to face a mysterious new threat that’s emerged from one of the most obscure places in the galaxy: the Gree planet of Asation. The Gree have been safeguarding ancient technologies on the planet for centuries, but seemingly on its own, one of the technologies, called a “Hypergate” has been activated. Terrible creatures have begun emerging from this Hypergate, and the Gree fear the worst is yet to come.

If you haven’t heard the news already, there are many exciting new developments coming up for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, new Operations, new Warzones, new custom items, and new ways to play the game. Plus, Game Updates will be coming more frequently.

For a short time only, The Chevin Conglomerate is offering great riches to anyone who brings them rare and unique items. Scattered across all parts of the galaxy, these items must be retrieved before the Chevin return to their home in the furthest reaches of the Outer Rim! Be cautious as some within both the Republic and Imperial governments wonder if there is something more sinister driving the Chevin and their quest to acquire these goods…

With the inclusion of Adaptive Gear in Game Update 1.3: Allies, you and your friends will be able to wear any social item in the game, and add augments to let you use it in the most perilous battles. See some of the different social items that you’ll be able to wear in any Flashpoint or Operation in this video.
