BioWare and LucasArts are excited to announce that Legacy, Game Update 1.2 for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is now live! This game update includes a number of additions to the game and the next evolution of the Legacy system. Now players will be able to tie their different characters together in a Legacy family tree to unlock new abilities, emotes and other perks.

On the recently-discovered planet of Denova, a brutal conflict between an invading Imperial battalion and Republic-hired mercenaries has come to an abrupt end. The mercenary leader, himself a legendary warlord, has turned his back on his Republic contractors, convinced the local Imperial battalion to join his cause, and declared himself ruler! Now heroes from both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire must deploy on Denova to take down the warlord and investigate what prompted him to go rogue.

We are excited to reveal Novare Coast, our latest Player-vs-Player Warzone featured in the upcoming Game Update 1.2 "Legacy" for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™!

On the war-torn planet of Denova, opposing forces vie for control of Novare Coast, a strategically vital beachhead that leads to the open oceans of Denova. Whoever controls this coastline will have a decisive advantage in taking control of the planet.

We want to thank everyone who has taken part in the program so far, and we want to continue allowing those of you who are curious about the game to have the chance to try The Old Republic™ for yourselves.

Game Update 1.2: Legacy for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ introduces several new systems to the game, including the option for you to customize your User Interface. You'll be able to alter the placement and size of each UI element to suit your own personal preference.

BioWare and LucasArts are excited to announce that we have extended the amount of friends a player can invite in the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Friends Trial! Players who have an active Star Wars: The Old Republic subscription will now be able to invite up to twenty five of their friends into a 7-day free trial to explore the Star Wars™ galaxy.

Cruising around the galaxy in your own personal starship is an important aspect of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. The player’s starship is like a home, and the player’s companions are like a family. No one knows this better than the dedicated Ship Droids who maintain the vessels: C2-N2 for Republic characters and 2V-R8 for Imperial characters.

The Legacy System is coming in Game Update 1.2, and with it, a new dimension to The Old Republic™ experience. Like the Skywalkers, you'll build your own family tree in the Star Wars™ galaxy, linking your characters on the same server together. Your achievements will open up new species options, new abilities for all the characters in your Legacy, and that's only the beginning…

Over the last weekend, people had the opportunity to take part in the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Weekend Pass Free* Trial. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part. However, we also understand that not everyone has had the opportunity to play the game.

Game Update 1.2 for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ will be released for public download soon! Entitled Legacy, this latest update to the game will allow players to experience brand new in-game content, including a new Flashpoint, a new PvP Warzone and a new Operation. All of this new content is now live on the Public Test Server so if you’re currently a player, we encourage you to check it out and give us your feedback!
