Game Update 7.6 "Galactic Threads” Recap
If you were unable to watch-or if you want a recap of everything we showed during our Game Update 7.6 Livestream, don't worry! Below is a VOD and a breakdown of highlights from each segment we showcased on the stream.
Twitch Drops
As a reminder, Twitch Drops are enabled! Be sure to connect your Twitch account to your SWTOR account. Drops will be active at the start of each dev stream and with every game update launch.
From November 14th to November 28th, players will be able to obtain the Ilum Art Poster decoration (purple frame) after watching one hour of SWTOR content.
At 7.6 launch, another Twitch Drop campaign will be active. After watching four hours of SWTOR content on Twitch, players will obtain the Amethyst Vulptilla Mount. This campaign will remain active for 28 days following 7.6 launch.

Galactic Threads Storyline
*Story spoilers for Update 7.5 story content in this section*
Galactic Threads begins immediately following the events from the Desperate Defiance storyline. Players and their Alliance race to find Darth Malgus and stop whatever plans he has set in motion. At the same time, players will also seek answers surrounding Darth Nul’s holocron and the Hidden Chain’s ambitions.
Jekiah and Rass Ordo, Arn Peralun, Major Anri, Talos Drellik, Akaavi Spar, and Lana Beniko will be making a return in this story update.
Story Missions will be taking players to Hoth, Tatooine, and the digsite at Nul’s temple of Elom.
There is an important caveat that the team would like to address to set player expectations. While the “Galactic Threads” story chapter is well into production, the SWTOR Narrative team does not currently have all the components needed to deliver high-quality story content that adheres to the team’s standards, as well as player expectations for story. The release date for “Galactic Threads” is currently delayed until this content can be completed. Please note, no other content in Game Update 7.6 is impacted.

Dynamic Encounters and the Propagator Core XR-53 Lair Boss
Dynamic Encounters is new world content that offers a variety of missions for players to experience. They are meant to breathe life into the planets they inhabit, giving players a sense that something is always happening at any given time. As players explore planets, they will naturally come across Dynamic Encounters or they can find active Encounters on their map. Missions can range from taking out Hidden Chain forces to herding escaped Banthas running amok in a space port. These Encounters will debut on Hoth and Tattoine with 7.6.
Hidden Chain Invasions are special Dynamic Encounters where players are tasked with stopping Heta Kol’s forces as they continue to wreak havoc in the galaxy. These Encounters can take place on Hoth and Tattooine, but can also be found on several other planets.
(Example of various types of Dynamic Encounters)
Dynamic Encounters will have a variety of rewards associated with them. Completing Encounters will yield tech fragments and Conquest Commendations, and unlocking Achievements. Hidden Chain Invasion Encounters will drop armor pieces. And a special rare Encounter will drop the Freckled Loth-cat mini pet.
(Hidden Chain and Electric Gaze Armors)
(Freckled Loth-Cat Kitten pet)
Completing the meta-achievement for the Tatooine and Hoth Encounters will grant players the Desert Sand and Frozen Peaks Mounts.
Propagator Core XR-53
A new lair boss will be coming with 7.6. The Propagator Core XR-53 originated from one of the many broken pieces when the Emperor's Fortress crashed onto Ilum. The XR-53 is a Rakatan droid replicator trying to fix itself by harvesting resources. Story and Veteran Modes will launch with 7.6.
New Augments
With 7.6, we are adding three tiers of augments:
- Augment 83 - item rating 296
- Augment 86 - item rating 302
- Advanced Augment 86 - item rating 310
The augments themselves will be crafted by Armormech, Armstech, and Synthweaving Crew Skills, but players will need components coming from Artifice, Biochem, and Cybertech. In order to even begin crafting, schematics and materials dropped by the Propagator Core XR-53 will need to be acquired first.

Mac Launcher Update
Our technical test is still underway and we are currently gathering and responding to feedback from players who have been invited to the test. Based on the testing, we are now planning to release the Mac Launcher in the near future. We will have more updates to share soon.
Companion Mounts are coming to SWTOR
The Star Wars: Skeleton Crew™ inspired Meirm Cicada Mount comes with *companion AND mini pet functionality.
As a thank you to our players, the Meirm Cicada Mount will be free to players with an active subscription anytime between November 29 – January 4!
*Not all companions are compatible with this mount. As an example, B3-S1 can’t fit!
Remember the Desert Sand and Frozen Peaks Lifter Mounts that can be earned through Dynamic Encounters? Surprise! They come with mini pet functionality too!
Freeing Inactive Character Names
We’ve been looking for opportunities to release inactive character names, and have selected 7.6 launch as the time to begin this process. If you have not logged into a character since January 1, 2024, that character name will be released into an unreserved pool and can potentially be claimed by another player when 7.6 launches. Players who want to keep their character names must log into the game before the 7.6 launch and log into each character. Players who are Subscribers at 7.6 launch will not need to take any action. Read here for more details!
Modernization
Our modernization efforts continue on with Game Update 7.6. Players will see updates done to Tython, Korriban, Hoth, and Ilum.
But wait, there’s more! Character models, specifically heads, will also see improved fidelity across the game! Players will see updates to their character via updated character textures, along with ocular specularity and with lighting, and shader improvements. Our goal was to improve the fidelity of characters across the game while keeping your character uniquely yours. Texture changes are starting in this update with Human, Chiss, Cyborg, Miralukan, Mirialan, Togruta, Rattataki, and Zabrak models.
Game Update 7.6 is coming early December!
