Since there is currently no suggestion forum, I'm going to try to round up all gameplay suggestions and list them here for ease of access.

 

Sorry about the long time between updates, Ive been having too much fun in the game, but heres another round of suggestions added.

 

Please feel free to add suggestions here and I will do my best to keep this post updated with all of them. Also, if you have a thread going regarding any of these suggestions, please post the link so I can link to it here in this post.

This thread is not for discussion about bugs/queues/advanced class switching/server transfers etc. This is simply a suggestion consolidation thread.

 

Benign

 

PvP

-Allow raids to queue together not just 4 man groups.

-Tiered PvP - boosted is good but dosnt account for the fact that higher levels have more versatile skills. (Also only level 50s really have access to expertise gear.)

-Window to monitor warzone summary mid game - stats like kills deaths etc.

-Wait until both sides are full to start a pvp match - to avoid autolosses

-Improve UI for healing in warzones - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=61912

-PvP scores listed online

-Ability to chose which warzone you want to queue in

-Ability to queue for only solo v solo warzones, to avoid premades

-Ability to toggle on/off accidental pvp flagging

-PvP flag should not toggle on when you aoe someone flagged.

-Incentive for world pvp, Illum only has dailies, when they are done theres little reason to continue the open world pvp. Add some sort of system that promotes continuous non warzone pvp. (great thread here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=87349 )

-Ability to flag people afk in WZ, sometimes they move off the starter place but still afk and dont contribute.

-When leaving a warzone, it should put you back into the group you were in. Currently when entering a warzone your group gets disbanded.

 

 

Guild

-In game guild recruitment channel

-Guild leave button in guild window

-Level up notification in guild chat

-Guild emblem or logo that could be put on ships, guild ships, the guild list, and possibly as a player ability to display a holo of their guild logo.

 

 

Grouping

-Random or Roll function - for distributing loot using Master Looter.

-Class/level listed in who menu.

-Target keybinding for marked targets - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=61843

-Grace period for trading BoP items accidentally rolled on.

-Some sort of mentor system whereby you can effectively group with lower level friends

-Ability to see nodes your groupmates see (in purple like for quests) so you know what theyre doing when they run off in a random direction to gather.

-Ability to right-click add to group from your guild list.

 

Questing

-Ability to see quest reward before accepting quest.

-Target of Target functionality - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=61643

-A different colored icon to distinguish heroic quest givers from normal solo quests.

-Mobs should not stay tapped when de-aggroed.

-Ability to assist your target

-More use of the Holocall feature, well-to-do quest givers and military typically should have a holocron, could help immersion to make this feature more useable.

-Ability to use quest items without having to open your inventory and drag it to hotbar, maybe have an icon to use the item in the quest tracker.

-When going to a space combat mission, have a % chance to be intercepted by an attack or by a distress call and instead be routed to a bonus mission.

-Have Toons approached consoles/objects automatically when they 'interact' with them -- much like how IA/Smug auto roll to the 'gumby' when triggered. (So they arent typing in mid air or whatnot)

 

 

User Interface

-Ability to rebind the tilde key to something other than opening and closing companion bar.

-Companion bar being opened shouldnt cover your own hotbar.

-Show your commendations instead of credits when shopping at commendation vendors.

-Waypoint and taxi unlocks should be the same thing, forgetting to unlock one or the other results in painfully unneeded runs.

-Global Chat - A channel allowing you to talk to the entire sever (mostly for LFG purposes)

-Auto-stacking when putting items into bank.

-Option to buy more than one of a given item from the vendor

-Focus targeting

-Speech Bubbles - For locating other pc characters who are talking - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=62192

-Option to NOT let the map go see-through when walking

-Have location names that youve discovered on the map.

-Make player hover over info fade rather than disappear immediately

-Ability to copy things from chat box

-Ability to create chat logs.

-Adding friends who are offline - currently returns "player not found" message

-Adding legacy names to friend an entire account.

-In Game voice chat

-Schematic tiptool to show that you know the schematic - To avoid accidentally buying or using a schematic you already know.

-Allow more than 2 windows to be open at once.

-A re-scaling of the camera rotation speed slider. 0% is still way too fast for some people.

-Debuffs visible on hostile nameplates, similar to how it appears on my target pane.

-Ability to transfer your key bindings/preferences between characters and between computers.

-Improve tab targeting system, it tends to go to wild extremes

-Option to list quests and skills in chat

-Color blind UI options - (e.g. using a number / dot system for the crafting window to denote whether the player will get skill points for crafting an item)

-Ability to see the character sheets of other players while inspecting.

-Ability to mute companions - "I was wondering what I could do to please you" "You can shut up"

-Better pathing for companions, and not having companions block line of sight for camera by standing right behind your character

-Better interface for crafting nodes on map - unable to see what they are, and sometimes nodes arent correctly shown on the map

-Mission items are hard to see sometimes, would help if they looked nicer

-Archaeology artifact node artwork should be easier to see

-Better support functionality on reporting and ignoring gold spammers

-Add better nameplates to maps for locations you have scouted, some quests are incredibly hard to find due to lack of name plates on maps

-Ability to disable "smart camera" rotation

-Ability to chat on your ship with the imperial fleet or the republic counterpart.

-Ability to add more than 2 bottom hotbars

-Make walls differentiated on maps so they dont just look like hills or map textures

-Allow us to switch from a free floating camera to the current system of floating cursor say by pressing ALT

-Ability to invert mouse in space combat

- Sell trash items button when at a vendor.

-Same vertical and horizontal targeting rings around enemies when targeted as you see when targeting group mates.

-Have /who automatically search all instances of your zone

-Ability to right-click whisper a person from chat

-City guards able to give directions

-Mailboxes could be removed, allowing access to mail from anywhere, and place a parcel delivery system in towns to pick up actual items. Mails with nothing or credits should be accessible from player datapads.

-Space combat shouldnt erase your chat log.

-Friend/ignore lists should carry from toon to toon.

-Ability to see your character's whole body in the character selection screen.

-Ability to alleviate hotbar bloat, with so many abilities, condensing them down via macro, skill chaining, etc would help a lot.

-Dragging an item into your character window should auto-equip it to its correct slot rather than prompting you to delete the item.

-When clicking add friend, you have to click the box then start typing, should auto-click the box for you to immediately start typing who you want to add.

-Ability to open maps of other areas from any area.'

-Have mail icon show who mail is from on mouseover

-Have friends list show how long since someone was last online

 

GTN

-List of great market suggestions here - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=83587

-GTN UI mod - searching without filling out all fields, better searching perimeters.

-Ability to see per unit cost when stacks of more than one item are posted

-Ability to search for armor by slot within the type, for example medium armor > Wrist

-Need a GTN terminal on every planet

-Companions returning from missions shouldnt auto-close the GTN

-Remember pricing on items for ease of posting so you dont have to refill the box each time

-When deleting an ammount, dont make it auto-fill to 1, it makes it annoying trying to put in a new price.

-auto-fill price should be vendor price, not an arbitrary number.

-shift-click item to put it in buy box for searches.

-Armor should have a slot drop menu so you dont have to search all heavy items when searching for say a chest.

-drop down menu for searching a specific tier of crafting materials.

-Ability to set price of stacks by unit price.

-Orange armor set in the rarity brackets by rating value.

-Only send the mail on sales once the money arrives so people dont rush to the mailbox only to find out they need to come back an hour later.

 

Character

-More realistic female run animations, they look like they are on Baywatch.

-More diverse female body options, ability to make heavy women.

-Dual Spec - dont think there is enough upset to warrant placing it in red category.

-Ability to sort skillbook by active/passive or other options.

-Less harsh respec costs.

-Ability to toggle off aoe skills on companions

-Companion affection changes should show up in dialogue, regardless of whether the companion is with you or not (e.g. out on a mission). After all, the affection is changed anyway.

-Smuggler class quests should involve.... smuggling.

-Emotes should not break stealth

-Ability to know if a legacy name is taken without having to level to 30 when rolling on a new server.

-Ability to see weapons in dressing room preview

-For charged abilities, like Full Auto, make the cooldown start once the damage does, so you can cancel the ability before the damage starts without losing a cd.

-Ability to converse with companions on ship outside questing, just mini convos unique to each of them.

-Ability to permanently disable a companion skill, every time they resummon it resets to their full array. Sometimes we dont want quinn randomly ccing everything or Quezen pulling things on top of us.

-Remove ranks of skills and instead make them rank up with level/gear.

-More tutorial type windows for new people, explaining things such as quest color=difficulty, what flashpoints are, how pvp warzones and queueing work, and more in depth crafting info without going to codex.

-Quick Travel to Ship option

-Have respec costs decay over time

-Auto-sort option for bags that lumps like items together.

-Companion skill trees for more customization of companions; possibly tie to affection gain rather than level?

 

Crafting

-When a companion returns from a mission, the reward should go into the "Pending" queue at the top right of the screen, NOT close down all of the windows currently open

-The Crafting window for whatever skill you have should show the amount of skill you have as well as the schematics e.g. "Crafting : Artificing (115 / 400)"

-More apparent difference in Alpha between items you can Re-engineer and those you can't

-Crafting window should be able to sort by how much crafting an item will up your skill

- Show required skill level when trying to Reverse Engineer items higher than my current skill level.

-Ability to hide grey recipies

-Sorting options for crafting window, (head, chest, etc)

-Only allow crafters to get schematics that are useable by their side, (no sith getting jedi only schematics)

-While we dont want people using slicing to farm credits, the boxes obtained should always be at least the amount used to go on the mission, since the mission also contains a time component, it should not lose money.

 

 

Other

-A suggestion forum >.>

-Server specific forums to increase community

-Option to sell back commendation items if you accidentally misbuy within a limited time frame.

-Swimming

-Emotes making sounds - ie there is no laughter sound when you laugh

-Currently afk timers are only stopped by moving, while writing messages, using the gtn, etc, chars are sometimes flagged and dropped from the server for not moving, even tho they are actively playing. Typing should reset the afk timer.

-Link chests to mob spawns, if someone taps a group guarding a treasure box, it shouldnt be ninjaed by some random person who comes along while the person is killing them.

-Support for the g13 keyboard in key bindings

-Races shouldnt all have the same height/body type for each selection, make twi'leks taller and skinnier, pureblood sith have a slight hunch, Miraluka should have a more graceful walk, different dances per race, etc.

-Add-On support - It allows the community to help BW enhance the game, BW can keep tabs on well-made mods and integrate them into the game over time.

Taken from the thread I created, I didn't notice this thread.

 

First thing is adding targeting keybinds. If you right click a mob target you can put a target on it's head, I want to be able to keybind that. In WoW I have all my picture target keys as F1-7. Can they add this and if they have can you let me know how to do it?

 

Also, I find when I walk by someone who looks cool and I hover my mouse over them it gives me information on the player but as soon as the mouse is off the player the information automatically dissappears. Is there a way to make the information on the player sort of fade out so I can see his level, class, etc?

 

(Ones probably being added)

 

- improved /who function where you can type the name of the player and get their class, lvl, etc. Currently you have to type their name in the bar after /who-ing.

one problem i have is the Map.

 

-Option to NOT let the map go see-through when walking

 

-Have location names that youv discovered on the map. i was lookin for 30 mins for a location i was already at but coudlnt remember where on the map

Guild Bank is "on its way" I believe.

 

I would like to see NPC's in the cities with some movement to them. Robots and people roaming around would be nice to see.

 

Also, player housing of some that I can decorate would be amazing!. SWG had it perfect. EQ2 had it fine. WoW never had it. SWTOR has player ships, which are nice, but cannot be changed. Give me a house on some planet that I can decorate a bit. FYI, a Free to Play game named Runes of Magic (WoW clone, btw) had a very good implementation. It doesn't need to be blight system like SWG. Instance based, like our ships, is fine.

As far as the second one goes, I find that when I'm hovering my mouse over the target all the information on the target comes up at the bottom of the screen and as soon as I move my mouse the information immediately dissappears it would be nice if the information stayed for a few seconds and then faded out. I'm not sure how you can shorten that, but perhaps someone will see it and take it as a good suggestion.

I'd like to add my 2 credits:

 

1. Add a Suggestion Forum so it's easier to find said suggestions.

 

2. Allow players to log/record chat. My best example woult be the way LOTRO does it. You can create tabs to log whichever channels you choose. This has at least two benefits: 1) It helps to settle disputes or record problems with members and prevents a he said/she said situation. 2) A lot of RPers like to record and post chat in their websites. It helps folks to keep track of story lines.

 

3. Customizable UI. I really have a hard time with where the chat box is. I'm sure there are others with their own issues.

 

4. I don't know if this is a bug or working as intended, but we were unable to copy text from the chat box to paste outside of game, ie links to informational sites. It would be nice if we could do that.

 

5. Fluff. As an RPer I love fluff, but I know non-RPers who like it too. It's a nice break from combat. I don't think any of us would expect these things to be implemented immediately or all at once, but it's something to think about. Some fluffy ideas:

 

Holidays. Not anything you can find here on Earth, please. No elf hats, santa suits, Easter bunnies, or any such thing. But surely beings of all sorts have some sort of planetary celebrations here and there.

 

Cosmetic items. Allow us to have cosmetic slots so we can put outfits on and switch between them and our regular armour. It can be cosmetic armor or social outfits. But it gives nice variety.

 

Allow us to customize the looks of our ship interiors. Not every smuggler wants to live in a rust bucket. And we don't all want to look the same.

 

Come up with some sort of way to allow people to visit your ship even if they are the same class without having to allow class flash points to be open to same class.

 

Social pets. Fluffy ones. Yes, there were such things as housecats in lore.

 

I'm sure if I really think hard enough I'll find plenty of other things.

 

((I didn't mention sitting in chairs and on couches, or lying down on beds because I hear BW is working on that.))

moved the guild thing and added player housing. I loved EQ2 housing ^_^.

Some suggestions of stuff that is currently missing but i believe should be there as standard ....

 

1) Mid Warzone summary screen so that you can monitor score, also ability to see list of oponents and their levels.

 

2) A Tiered PVP system for warzones, not just everyone "boosted".

 

3) A PVP warzone match not to start until both sides are full (to prevent the autoloss that many of us experience because we start 3 players down , and then in the first couple of minutes get the numbers up but its too late)

 

3) A guild recruitment chat channel as standard, and a screen for searching for guilds ingame (not on forums)

 

4) the ability to add friends characters even when they are Offline (not just a player not found message)

 

Other suggestions for things that feel broken even though they are "working as intended"

 

1) "Crew" skills --- They aren't crew skills if i can learn three skills and all my crew must follow my skills... I assumed nievely that crew skills meant each crew member could learn different ones to allow a crew to have multiple crafting abilities.

 

2) I would like to see the ability to add a friends account (and hence all characters) to my friendslist in one go (with their permisssion of course) to prevent the frustration of having multiple characters and having to get them online to add them one by one for each new char.

 

 

I am sure i had more but these are the main ones that come to mind, i woudl be interested to see what others make of these suggestions .

5. Fluff. As an RPer I love fluff, but I know non-RPers who like it too. It's a nice break from combat. I don't think any of us would expect these things to be implemented immediately or all at once, but it's something to think about. Some fluffy ideas:

 

Holidays. Not anything you can find here on Earth, please. No elf hats, santa suits, Easter bunnies, or any such thing. But surely beings of all sorts have some sort of planetary celebrations here and there.

 

Cosmetic items. Allow us to have cosmetic slots so we can put outfits on and switch between them and our regular armour. It can be cosmetic armor or social outfits. But it gives nice variety.

 

Allow us to customize the looks of our ship interiors. Not every smuggler wants to live in a rust bucket. And we don't all want to look the same.

 

Come up with some sort of way to allow people to visit your ship even if they are the same class without having to allow class flash points to be open to same class.

 

Social pets. Fluffy ones. Yes, there were such things as housecats in lore.

 

I'm sure if I really think hard enough I'll find plenty of other things.

 

((I didn't mention sitting in chairs and on couches, or lying down on beds because I hear BW is working on that.))

 

Added most of those, cosmetic items I left out as mod items are pretty much that, shells for appearances that you can add stats to.

Some suggestions of stuff that is currently missing but i believe should be there as standard ....

 

1) Mid Warzone summary screen so that you can monitor score, also ability to see list of oponents and their levels.

 

2) A Tiered PVP system for warzones, not just everyone "boosted".

 

3) A PVP warzone match not to start until both sides are full (to prevent the autoloss that many of us experience because we start 3 players down , and then in the first couple of minutes get the numbers up but its too late)

 

3) A guild recruitment chat channel as standard, and a screen for searching for guilds ingame (not on forums)

 

4) the ability to add friends characters even when they are Offline (not just a player not found message)

 

Other suggestions for things that feel broken even though they are "working as intended"

 

1) "Crew" skills --- They aren't crew skills if i can learn three skills and all my crew must follow my skills... I assumed nievely that crew skills meant each crew member could learn different ones to allow a crew to have multiple crafting abilities.

 

2) I would like to see the ability to add a friends account (and hence all characters) to my friendslist in one go (with their permisssion of course) to prevent the frustration of having multiple characters and having to get them online to add them one by one for each new char.

 

 

I am sure i had more but these are the main ones that come to mind, i woudl be interested to see what others make of these suggestions .

Schematic tiptool to show that you know the schematic and also add feature so you are able to learn a schematic that you already know!

 

I'm sure I've learned a schematic that I bought off the GTN more than once.

 

Having to look at your list of known schematics is a real PAIN
