Will I need to purchase a monthly subscription in order to play Star Wars: The Old Republic?

What will happen to my Star Wars: The Old Republic account if my Origin account is locked?

If for any reason you are locked out of your Origin account, you will still be able to log in to the game using the same email and password that you used to create your SWTOR account.

If I am banned from Star Wars: The Old Republic or my account is otherwise disabled, will I be prohibited from playing other EA titles tied to that account?

No. If your Star Wars: The Old Republic account is disabled for any reason, it will not affect your ability to play other EA titles that are tied to your Origin account.

Will merging my Origin and SWTOR accounts affect any of my other EA accounts?

When your Origin account and your SWTOR account are tied, other EA services may have their password changed to your default Origin password. Should you be unable to log into another EA service with your initial password, try your Origin password. If that fails to work, please contact EA Origin customer service.

If I change information on either my Origin or SWTOR account, will it change that information on the other account?

Yes, your email address, password, language and country will be kept in sync if you update any of these fields on either your EA/Origin or SWTOR account.

What if I already have an active Origin account? Will I have to create a new one?

If you used the email tied to your Origin account when registering your SWTOR account, the two will automatically sync together. Alternatively, if your Origin account and your SWTOR account each uses a separate email address, you can manually tie your SWTOR account to your EA account through your EA.com accounts options page.

Will I require an Origin account in addition to a SWTOR account?

Yes, you will require an active Origin account in addition to a Star Wars: The Old Republic account. You can create a new Origin account by going to the Origin Account Registration page, entering your email address in the appropriate space and clicking “Start my EA Profile.” This will take you to a screen where you can create your EA Master ID and set your password.
You can also start a new Origin account by logging in with either your Facebook or PlayStation Network accounts, or by downloading and running the Origin client for the first time.

Do I have to create an account on SWTOR.com in order to play Star Wars: The Old Republic?

Yes. In order to be able to play the game you will have to create an account on the official Star Wars: The Old Republic website. If you are not logged in to your SWTOR account when you go to enter your Pre-Order code, you will be prompted to either sign in to your account or create a new account. The email address that you use when you create your account will also be the email that is used when you log in to either SWTOR.com or the game.

What can I do if another community member is harassing me or making inappropriate posts?

Simply contact the Community Team and give us specific details on what’s going on. A member of the Community Team will contact you as soon as possible to resolve the issue. You can also report offensive or inappropriate forum posts to our moderators by clicking the “Report Post” icon on the offending post.

How does Star Wars : The Old Republic relate to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic?

Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place approximately three hundred years after the events of Star Wars : Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). At the conclusion of the Jedi Civil War in KOTOR, Revan disappeared into unknown space in search of a great threat to the Republic, an expanding Sith Empire led by a mysterious Emperor who planned vengeance for his ancient Jedi enemies. Revan never returned from unknown space, but the Sith Empire did, kicking off a war with the Republic that lasted for decades. Now, despite the uneasy truce created by the Treaty of Coruscant, the tension among the divided star systems is threatening to once again tear the galaxy apart.

When does Star Wars : The Old Republic take place in relation to the movies?

Star Wars : The Old Republic takes place more than 3,500 years before the rise of Darth Vader. The most powerful Sith Empire in history has emerged from deep space to attack the Republic and its legendary Jedi guardians. After decades of war, a tenuous truce has been established between the Sith Empire and the Republic, but events occurring in the game are leading the galaxy back to an all-out war.

Does Star Wars: The Old Republic have multiplayer PvE (Player vs. Environment) content?

Yes! Flashpoints allow players to group together and face difficult challenges. Can my pre-launch guild be transferred to the game on release day?

Yes, the guild you create through the Pre-Launch Guild Program can be transferred into the game provided that at least four members of your guild have pre-ordered the game and entered their Pre-Order Codes through the Code Redemption Center. The guild leader must also log in to the website and verify that their guild remains active and wants to be imported. Please consult the Guild FAQ if you have additional questions about creating a guild or transferring it to the game.

Does Star Wars: The Old Republic support guilds?

Yes. Star Wars: The Old Republic supports guilds and you don’t have to wait until launch to create or join a guild in The Old Republic. Does Star Wars: The Old Republic have crafting?

Will I get my own starship?

What are Companion Characters?

Companion Characters are Non-Player Characters (NPCs) that join up as members of your character’s team throughout the game. A unique Star Wars: The Old Republic feature, these characters have their own quests, stories, and opinions, and will work with your character as you progress through the game. Does this game have Player vs. Player (PvP) combat?

Yes. In addition to PvE (Player vs. Environment) content, Star Wars: The Old Republic will feature a range of options for players who wish to battle and compete with other players. What are Advanced Classes?

Advanced Classes offer an additional level of customization to your character. Once you've reached a certain level, you'll select your Advanced Class, which determines some of your specialized abilities and what role your character plays in a group. Can I play as a character on the light or dark side?

In The Old Republic, you’ll choose to create a character as a member of the Galactic Republic or the Sith Empire. This will determine what other classes you can group together with and form guilds with. Jedi Knights, Jedi Consulars, Smugglers, and Troopers are aligned with the Republic, and Sith Inquisitors, Sith Warriors, Bounty Hunters, and Imperial Agents are aligned with the Empire. Every class, regardless of allegiance, can earn light and dark side points as they make decisions and progress through the story.

What kind of characters can I create?
