Who doesn't love Torian?

nothing personal, but i was so hoping this thread wouldn't go anywhere, because i despise torian. negative 80 affection and proud of it. useless little pretty boy... 'due's paid', oh gag. voice acting, please. a little husk does not a misunderstood tough heartthrob make. akaavi spar, now there's a mando. bathes in blood, baby. of course, my opinion probably doesnt count for anyone who does like him, because not only do i find Skadge hilarious and awesome, im actually not even that big on blizz. cute, yeah, but he never really adds to a convo in ay other way than 'look its a jawa!' type stuff. torian meanwhile detracts from everything, while mako, gault and Skadgey boy all interest and depth... uh, maybe not 'depth', but you know. for example, when darth ormen force chokes you (or mako if you have her out, so i hear), Skadge grumbles 'let's see him try it with his hands.': simple, yes, but perfectly fits that feeling of helpless, dumbfounded bitterness. one gets from a force choke, or really any stun. id love to know what torian does in that scene. seriously. im thinking about it now and cant even imagine what golden boy might say. act confused and shocked at the brutality, maybe sulk a bit? no, wait, he smolders, doesn't he? please don't tell me he steams!

I Agree.

I need more darkside options to tell him to shove his 'mando'a' crap and never speak to me in that made-up language again. Akaavi would rip him to shreds. Better yet, let me kill him and dump the carcass.

Decorative scars, soul patch, and a Beiber haircut? I was born to hate that tool. It's like the copy and pasted Corso.

Seriously Bioware, bring back the ability to axe a companion if we don't like them. Bieber Fett would be at the top of my list.

At level 50 I have Torian decked out in purple and orange with purple mods and his dps in amazing. I don't use Mako anymore - don't need her. He holds his own in pvp better than any of my other companions - and he just looks cool.

Torian's dps is really nice with proper gear--and he's tough enough to stand up to some pretty nasty damage as well. Not to level 50 yet, but I like having him out.

And I like him as a romance as well.

When he gets kidnapped to set the BH up for a hit, once you rescue him, his response is classic: That's my girl. And he writes a sweet letter about being so shaky about asking you to marry him that he left a clean target on the range. I laughed at that one.

His voice is great. The only one I like better has to be Andronikos.

Hi! I have a question. I am at 8100 reputation and since 4000 or so Torian hasnt given me any quests. Im level 40 now, anyone knows if there is a level requirement for the romance or quests? Thank you!

I havent yet played that far with my BH, but its possible that he is waiting you to proceed in your class storyline maybe? I had the same thing with Mako, despite me handing her every gift possible, she didnt talk to me at all (I had almost 75% of her affection). Then once I proceeded past a certain point in my storyline, everything seemed to unlock at once and she gave me 7-8 discussion missions on the ship in a row.

as a LS male BH I love Torian like I'm his elder brother or mentor, but it's more like we learn from eachother. I teach him things, give him advice, he teaches me things like mandalorian culture and cooking... And also our minds are so much alike, when I pick a conversation choice, 90% of the time he agrees with me and I get tons of affection.

I view the relationship between my BH and Torian as replacing his father, providing guidance to someone who spent his youth in shame of what his father did but still proud of what he was before he "betrayed" his family. I see Torian as quite a complex person, as he seeked to redeem his family honor by killing his own father, which must have been difficult but at the same time he viewed it as necessary as it was the source of his shame for so many years.

And from a general point of view, having gone through the SI, SW, BH and IA storyline, I feel like the BH's crew is the one that intervenes the most in all the dialogue. Blizz talks about Mako and Torian, Mako shouts from the back of the ship while you have a discussion with Gault, Skadge disparages your entire crew, and you have tons of onboard "meetings" with everyone (you even discuss vacations and parties with them) compared to the other classes, I really felt like my ship was my home with everyone having a place, even Skadge.

it's almost as we were the A-team, with each and everyone having a quirk.

Anyway I love Torian.

I agree completely. BH crew is the best. It's not you being the object of awe and reverence, you are just the one calling the shots. It's more like a rag-tag group of friends carving their path through the galaxy and screw everyone else.

I have to agree. I'm working on my 5th 50 now - the Bounty Hunter was my first. As far as full crews go the BH crew is the best of the bunch and seem to have the most interesting stories and interaction

I was having an on ship conversation with Gault about one of his former female partners and had the option to ask is she was single - from her place on the bridge Mako yells down "I heard that"

I laughed for an hour.

absolutely. smuggler one is pretty good too, but corso is almost as bad as torian (which likely means just as good if you like torian) and there isnt as much interaction as in the bh. bh was my first toon, everything else was underwhelming in comparison.

Just met Torian on my 32 BH. Here are my first impressions about him.

1. He does not have Bieber hair, don't know where people got that idea.

2. I am at least glad that he doesn't judge me right away like his compatriot does on Kaas.

3. He pointed a gun at me. My future companions don't tend to do that.

4. He told me to go bathe in rakghoul guts...

Mixed opinions as of now. I am sure I will come to a conclusion once I work with him for a bit.

2. He seems quite open-minded for a Mando -- a lot of them (I'm thinking of Tatooine, and yes, Jogo on Kaas) assume you suck because you're not one of them. Of course, you really only meet him after Chapter 1, when you've proven how awesome you are, but the same could be said for Jogo... Given how traditional Torian is, one might expect him to be more skeptical, but maybe his focus on honor and skill actually lets him more openly admire a strong warrior, Mando or no.

3. This is a lot funnier if you're female and willing to flirt. XD

4. My friend, knowing that Torian was my future romance companion, commented at this point in the quest, "He's a real charmer, isn't he?"

Will be interested to see your impressions as time goes on. :o

I'm using Torian as a DPS buddy (Arsenal merc here) and we can seriously tear up. I do wish he'd speak up a bit more in conversation -- he seems a lot less talkative than Gault, but given their personalities, that's not surprising. But when he does jump in, I'm generally pleasantly surprised. On Hoth, he gave me an explanation of Trandoshan religion that I think is the wordiest thing he's ever said. :p

I think Torian is awesome. I'm a huge Johnny Yong Bosch fan and Torian himself is just so cool, ALL THE TIME. When I am running around with him killing things I feel like we're some sort of Star Wars buddy cop movie.

On the other hand, I am a guy, and even Torian cannot come between me and Mako <3

  • 9 years later...

I liked Torian -- he just reminded me a lot of my oldest nephew ( now in his forties and has a wife and baby girl )

I just couldn't have him for a romance interest -- just felt really weird -- looks too much like my nephew
