  1. If any new players decide to sub, and not be just free to play, here's my link: http://www.swtor.com/r/2vCPbp Welcome (back) to the game Steam players.
  2. Hi there. Just what the title says. I've got one character on each side, and I'm looking for a guild. Don't have much to offer as they're poorly equipped to current standards (<290) and lack the credits to fix that. Heck, I don't even have all of the old planetary datacrons unlocked, which still saddens me to no end. (I hate platform jumping and puzzles) However, I do have time on my hands during the weekdays. I'm on the US West coast. A bit older (early 40's), so I'm quite over the millennial mentality. I enjoy some light Role Play, as I play heaps of table top games. Wouldn't mind people who'd be patient, fun and easy going. Don't expect me to be some drone with uber min/max number crunching optimisation and speed run. I tend to switch between both characters, which is why I'm looking for a guild on both sides. If you have a discord server that would be great. Anyways, have fun and may the Force (not Corona) be with you.
  3. Just a thought. By why don't they just re-boot the servers? if there's people on them and the rest of us can't get in, that usually means everyone needs to get out first. Just like you'd re-start your computer if something was wrong. (Have you tried turning it off and on again?)
  4. G'day there. Just returned to see the game again and would love a reason to stay. I have one character on the Imperial side (my main) and one on the Republic side. Would love to find a single group for them that plays both. Some Roleplaying would always be nice, but honestly I'm looking for help with equipping them. They're level 70, but quite under-rated as I neither have the millions of credits to buy things on the (very inflated) exchange, nor do I ever get to do the playthroughs that get that kind of equipment. (For instance, I still haven't got all of the stat increasing holo/datacrons.) Prefer non-hardcore PvE as PvP is not really my thing; I'm not competitive at all. Heck, I don't use guides or builds as I'm older (just turned 40) and don't care about that being uber or perfect. Fun first, number crunching last, if ever. A group that has a Star Wars theme would be nice, as would one that is actually alive and kicking. I have Discord if you have a channel. All I can offer is my time, at this point. Thanks for your time and may the force be with you.
  5. I have a similar thing happening. Just re-installed the game again after a hiatus to find this new mission set. So I started it. Unfortunately, I can't even start the mission to talk to Lana first! My Sith Warrior keeps falling through the planet where the Alliance base is at. (There are a lot of 'missing resources' on the screen there) /stuck does nothing, and the only way I can get out is to legacy travel to the Imperial Station hub. I've tried re-entering the mission again from my ship to land, but the same thing happens. I end up falling through the map and dying. Respawning to the medical centre just leads to more falling. I've lost several tens of thousands of credits in repairs. I'd like to start playing, but he's unable to advance this storyline at all. The base is bugged somehow.
  6. Hi there. Recently decided to re-sub after a very long time. I'm a bit behind on things in game obviously, so I'd like to get with a group of people that don't mind helping out (*cough creds or mods, I'm just being honest as I can't afford anything on the market it seems) in return for helping out with group activities and contributing back. Not really into hardcore 'be the best' type of playing. Don't mind RP, but I'd rather spend my time completing something that myself or someone else needs. I have one imp and one pub character that I will play with, so a guild that might have both sides would help. But I'll take an imp one if that has to be a choice as I would play him more often than not. About myself: I'm a 39 old man on the US West coast, and I usually may play a few hours each day. I also play Sar Trek Online and have a few RL roleplaying games that take up my time. (As well as watching Critical Role) I like Star Wars obviously, heh. That's about it. Thanks for reading and have a good day.
  7. So, basically, you're just giving us another useless PvP area that will quickly rise in rants and threads with complaints? PvP is not the whole game. This is not League of Legends of whatever MOBA flavour of the month game. I was hoping for something akin to the old X-wing and TIE Fighter (yes these are seperate games youngsters) Or, more akin to X-wing Alliance, where we had our larger ship (a YT-2000) and played missions from it, and had a storyline outside and indside it...basically using our existing ships, not just random snub-fighters. *sigh* So, take some better notes from this thread: Many of us are not the PvP vocal junkies (and shame on you for thinking everyone is.) and please add some PvE content and for our existing ships! My smuggler would not hop into a fighter, when his Tramp Freighter works like the Millenium Falcon! Nor would my Sith Lord want to leave his command ship, just to go 'pew pew', like the expendable Imperial pilots.
  8. I never understood why he was considered a traitor....and yet, after his fall, the Empire goes and does exactly what he was attempting to do (with this new Darth) and hire on aliens into the Empire, and unite it, since the Emperor is basically like the Warhammer 40K Emperor of Man. (Immortal but a useless husk) So, bring Malgus back. If anything he should get his redemption, as he is the visionary the Empire needs to survive sans a non-functioning Emperor. That's what we're doing anyways since Makeb, so why the stupid new Darth? Malgus is our well...(not as attractive) version of the Republics Bastilla.
  9. Achievements? Bleh, that's new to me. All I'm caring about is the +10 presence bonus from unlocking the dialog with the supporting characters, as done in the Legacy tree. Which was new last year. So, no need to worry about steam-like 'achievements'. Not even mattering.
  10. Hi. Apologies if there is a thread on this already (Feel free to move this then, or delete it.). Now, I'm an older player, who's recently re-subbed to the game. Back in the day before the Legacy boxes for each class (with the chapter and companion unlocks), there wasn't much reason to get a companion all the way up to 10000, on the favour scale. And I tended to delete the other classes after I had played them. So, now I have all the legacy class chapter play-throughs complete, but my companions are halfway blank. I realise this just gives a presence bonus for each companion you get to full, with. (So it doesn't break any PvP or Operation gameplay) But it would be great if we could purchase an ability to fill out an empty companion slot that we might have missed. There would be some limitations of course: 1.) I'd make it account wide, meaning it might cost some Coin, say equivalent to somewhere between an account cosmetic unlock, and a species unlock. 2.) This could only be available if you've unlocked and completed the Chapter 3 story arc for the class in question. No free unlocks to just cheat. This is for players who may have missed companion openings and really don't wish to make a new game just for one or two missing +10 presence slots! Clear as mud? Basically: I'd love to unlock my companion bonuses if I've actually completed Ch. 3 for a class, but no longer have the character, for my legacy. Can it be done?
  11. I have to admit, this would be a great boon, because after doing holo-hunting with just one character, and I can absolutely say, that I would HATE to do that over and over again, and would happily pay (even cartell) to have them unlocked once one character had them found.
  12. Apologies if this has been brought up in the past, but I was wondering, if there might be some way to unlock via in-game currency, or (for ftp) cartell coins, the +10 to presence Companion boxes. Now wait, there's stipulations. Let me explain my situation and an example of what I was thinking: I currently have all 4 of the Imperial classes and storylines completed and unlocked. (That means post Ch. 3) Unfortunetly, I deleted 3 of the 50 characters when all this server transfer/reduction was going on. Now, I have 3 'Imperial Classes' (the legacy tab) with only 1 Companion opened, but everything else done. It's bugging me, and I really don't want to have to re-do all 3 classes (and stories!) just to unlock a few companions on my screen. I only have time for one character as it is, and it seems a waste to get one thing from a class feature that I literally already had access to. So, if you've completed the character class and gotten to 50 and done Ch. 3, and have a legacy level (say 30+, I'm 47 so it doesn't matter.) Can there be a pay option to unlock your companions +10 presence bonus box afterwards? In case you missed them? Cost can be whatever: Just as long as you've already completed the class they are from. Just a suggestion. One that would bring a smile to my face for sure.
  13. No, no and no. Bioware, you do understand that some of us DISLIKE the stun system? They way it normally works is someone stealths in and pops stun after stun on you, the republic side is notorious for this, especially against Juggs and other melee classes. From what I'm reading you're just making things worse? No. Look short of removing stuns (I'll be honest I'd love that, since I reckon the system will be broken for a long time) could we decrease stuns instead of increasing them! On the flip side, I don't intend to PvP forever, I'm just doing it with one character until Renown 90 or so and then that's it. From a PvE perspective this sounds all fine and dandy. But for PvP...this update is going to hit us hard, and bad. No biscuit for you today. This is why I never am for games that attempt to make PvE and PvP the same system...it annoys one side while attempting to please another
  14. Could care less about those 2 minor set bonuses rfom the mostly fugly (Imperial side anyways) armour sets. Honestly, they don't matter and don't count for much when you really really think about it. I mean you go from 1-50 just fine without them. What is irritating me, is the cost of taking out mods to put into the new social gear. ***! I've spent over 300K just to almost get my new PvE gear set-up (mostly 56 level Columi). Attempting things with my crew is almost impossible at the moment because I'm broke, and I'm not even going to touch PvP gear to put it into social gear until way way into the future at this rate. It's the prices...the prices for removing mods is not just a credit sink, it's a credit black hole at post 50! Social gear has turned out to be a curse in terms of creds, but a blessing in terms of looks. Yes, I realise we don't have to change, but the whole point of us wanting the adaptable gear was because we were keen to wear things that only the light armoured people could do before and still be viable. (Not all of us wanted to look like walking scrap electrical appliances.)
  15. You know, I dislike PvP with a passion, but lately it's all I've been able to do besides Black Hole, because for some STUPID REASON, all the end game PvE is also GEAR-based, just like PvP. (Also most people don't seem to have the time for the long stretches it takes for flashpoints/operations as compared to just being in a queue for PvP. Example: "No Rakata gear? Sorry, you can't join our group, (enter op name here) is to hard without it." <---Catch 22 because that's what helps get you the damn gear; doing these! I'm very frustrated with the whole class/gear mentality the game has kept from that silly WoW game. I love PvE, and I love just playing (simple) games, not having to slave over a second job. No, I'm not quitting, just wishing the game had more happy-go-lucky playability, rather then 'gear up to be the best or fail.' Anywho: To answer the question: I prefer PvE, because I'm a roleplayer (from pencil and paper games, not wargamming.)
