  1. READ THIS: On getting criticism – Raph's Website (raphkoster.com) For devs and players. Old but Gold. and another important quote out of that blog:
  2. i've tried to do a full accuracy build, so all 344s with accuracy, 340s mod weapons with accuracy enh, 340s accuracy implants and 14 accuracy 77 augments. didn't reached 10% for the offhand, didn't had any effect, expect no crit rating or alacrity. so no need to try. it was just a fun project.
  3. It's not the first time and it won't be the last. when the servers were merged, my legacies were also overwritten several times, so i lost a lot of achievements. this resulted in a wild mix, so that i had a timerun achievement, for example, but didn't get the final boss. i also have the armour from denova as a mount, but can't unlock the achievement for it. swtor's reaction to the problems with legacy was that they also removed the timerun. it was irrelevant that i had copies of all achievements. back then it was also less difficult to find groups to run it with. when i came back from my break, things looked completely different. all of a sudden, people only search with e&e and nobody bothers to look at the timestamps because they don't make sense. rebuilding is more difficult here, especially if you no longer raid nim every day. as they are not part of the relevant community themselves, they also don't understand the scope behind these mistakes.
  6. playing lightning means, you go for the 1.3 gcd.
  7. there have been a few comments about talking to swtor devs in their spare time in bars in and around austin, as well as public comments from former employees who are not afraid of having their careers cut if they speak openly. the comments were deleted here, and the people who posted them were warned. in the end, no one can judge the truthfulness of the comments. they may be true, a mix with their own distorted perceptions, or simply a dig about leaving the team. at the end we will find out how much the team gets released and in what quality. i mean the latest update, still made under bioware flags, was just awefull with really ashaming cutscenes, that i would advice writers and creators of cutscenes to do some basic trainings, or maybe watch some tutorials on youtube. in the past these were a blast.
  8. master mode content should always add something to the veteran challenge, not just lifepoints. to have a consistency back, ev/kp mm neeeded to be deleted or reworked completely. reworking an operations needs much more time investment, than just reworking it. at the end, you would need to invest a ton of hours, but still have an quite boring starter operations, even with additional mechanics. but you also could create new operation content. so they did that. of course it would be a nice way for some beginners to farme ev/kp nim, instead of nefra/dash/red. --- of course during the time a lot of content was cut out. dark versus light bosses, many quests, some questlines, some was just cut and not making sense now. we also got several changes to classes, skill trees and abilities. some were good and made the game more interesting, some not. actually i like the way we have it now. you need to change your choices, depending on the stuff you play. classes will work differently, depending on your choices for abilities and tacticals. so if you just have single target hitting classes, you can change them to add more aoe skills with costs on single target dps and you also can focus on just aoe. step by step. so you can find the optimal way for your group, if you try out your class, not just follow guides blindly. --- but leveling is absolutly frustrating these days. if you are playing sorc, you can level up to 80 with just using forcestorm. there is no need at all, to read what abilities are doing or giving the player a feeling for that spec. for example if i'm playing a dps operative, there is no difference if i play burst or dot until a certain higher level. the first real dot comes really late. also with the mechanics of tactical advantages you may could think, you are no melee class at all. if ur playing sin, playing burst is quite okay, but playing dot for leveling is kinda annoying, because all you have is a different aoe spell, but not dot. you really don't get any feeling of the class in late game, not even close. i could go on for every class; it's the same. no wonder why we really have serious skill issues with new players who just play the game and don't invest any time reading skill trees, abilities or passives. as long as they don't have any challenge in the leveling process and are not forced anymore to use different abilities, we don't need to wonder about dps players doing half the dps of a healer. in the past, of anybody got the legendary player status, you knew that they understood at least basics of the classes. this is totally gone and know you need to explain beginners every little step again and again. this is not only frustrating for the players who don't learn anything anymore, because all new games are way more supportive when it comes to leveling, but also vets in the game who just don't have left energy anymore to explain basics to beginners on and on and on and on. --- making the game harder again, changing the way we get abilities and get them explained, also to connect passives and abilities in an optical highlighting would increase the quality for everybody. also highlighted abilities we don't have in our bars would be nice, in case you missed something, because even if we lost many abilities and now need to chose some, we still have many of them. for example if i just take the ani mara as example, we have 3 straight forward buffing abilities and one more hidden. the average player just would use one of them. --- but with "pruning" the team so hard, who should do all the work? if nobody is willing to invest tons of dollars to finance willing devs with experience and passion, they have to focus on very different things, not to lose the last subscribers.
  9. even if i like to get the datacrons for all characters, i don't really understand, why you can't unlock different things with credits or cc. for example unlocking the map with credits, if you already discovered it with a different toon. same for codex entries. so players have the choice to pay a sum to unlock it, or discorver them again.
  10. 0.) get the implant quest when u reach level 80 1.) buy conquest gear, so you start with item leve 324. buy 1x accuracy earpiece and 2x accuracy implants. 2.) go to takanna/niktoo and buy an not indentified relict with tech fragments. this comes in item-level 306. 3.) run hammer station solo or in a group. every time a blue relict will drop. you need to keep one, but deconstruct all others to get fp-1. 4.) increase that relict until you have it upgraded to 340. 5.) go to hyde & zeek and do the prototyp quest. artefact is not needed. 6.) get (legacy bound) weapons and gear to buy all the inlets, maybe get your mk-11 kits and augments 7.) upgrade your ear and relicts 7.1.) for soloplayers go for blue flashpoint ear and relicts. to force them you need a 306 relict, you already have and a 306 earpiece you need and get from takanna/niktoo. 7.2.) for ops players, go for rakata ear and relicts to upgrade them to 344 8.) if you run operations in vet, you also can use your 306 relict or earpiece to force a rakata drop, to get 15 op-1 per boss. 9.) once you have enough tech fragments, buy your implants with set bonus. always keep in mind, that you don't need the gear. if you know how to play the class, you can play every vet operation, except r4 anomaly with not augmented green 324 with no setbonus. in operations nowing class and tactics is way more important than gear. sm operations are for grinding tech fragments. vet operations are for grinding op-1. master operations are for fun. the guide from swtorista says nearly that and when somebody asked me, i send them to swtorista to increase some ad income for her.
  11. actually i don't understand why somebody would want to stream swtor and want to lock their content with a creator contract, for no payment. if you start streaming swtor and you are doing it good, you don't need any contract to get viewers. from time to time every swtor viewer will visit your stream to check you out. if you are good in entertaining, they will come back. if not, you need giveaways to get them back. but there are so few viewers, that streaming swtor means nearly no growth at all. even the numbers in the category are kinda confusing, because many viewers watch multiple streamers at the same time, so they count up to 3 times. and some streamers are also using viewbots. so the total amount of viewers is really low. so if you have fun streaming swtor, go for it, but don't get into any contracts forcing you into something for nearly no compensation. it's just not worth it. you also should take a look at the past, how content creators were treated, if they have an own opinion. i can understand, that you want to get as much support as possible, but signing a contract for some goodies is selling your persona for some goodies, because if you have an own opinion, you will follow the other fallen content creators (not biggs).
  12. it's getting worse and worse. even legacy operations and flashpoints don't have text anymore. if you are in gods, dxun or r4, you location is invisble, too. some players already switch to the english build. many won't switch, so may will leave the game, too. this is not only an issue, that the text is not there, but it's hard to chose quests with no name in the questlog.
