  1. +1 to this. The zoom buttons overlap with the skin color slider on species/style combinations that have more customization categories. At the moment the only way to change skin color in those cases is to randomize everything, hoping the skin tone is farther right to the one you want, so you can use the < button to crawl back. Definitely a needed UI fix there.
  2. Although no direct response to this was given by BW, I think the "only characters created on a veteran account in 7.0 can choose both combat styles unrelated to the origin story" is how the system works. I was among those who thought we'd be able to swap the primary style of current characters as well, but considerng both what we saw on PTS and what has been said during a few interviews, that won't be the case for 7.0 launch. Here's my personal breakdown for it: - They have mentioned time and again that they want the Legacy systems to remain relevant, and that making alts is the way they want people to play. - Combat style choices have been confirmed to be final once made, at least for the time being. - Probably the most important: new players will be locked into playing origin stories just like it is currently on live, with the classic advanced classes associated with them. They won't be able to select a second combat style until they have finished Ch3, and not until another style has been unlocked with the related Ch3 Legacy achievement. (basically, a BH can only add Imperial Agent as a second style once the latter has gone through the whole class story as well). - Considering the above, it stands to reason our current characters will be locked in the same condition as a new player character for what concerns the system, so will only be able to add a second style according to the Legacy unlocks already achieved. - The Force User classes are a special case since their mirror is treated as a matter of Ligh/Dark side alignment, rather than a different concept with mirrored abilities for game mechanics' sake. Hence why the possibility to swap primary combat style. But they still can't swap to a different AC (eg. Knight to Assassin), they can only swap for their faction mirror. EDIT: Also, all the above is dependant on the account being subbed. F2P or Preferred will still only have 1 combat style per character.
  3. I knew I forgot to test out something... This is just my own theory on the matter, but...considering how past the base game everyone goes through the same cutscenes regardless of class, I believe there is a check somewhere in the scripts that tells the engine when to apply the cutscene blaster depending on the detected class triggering a conversation/cutscene. If that is the case, everything should work just like it is now on live, since despite the new name, the game still recognizes each style as a separate advanced class.
  4. If your objective is in the open world and you are not in combat, you'll be able to switch at will. Whenever you enter an instance (be it FP, HC or Story) you cannot switch loadout until you exit that instance.
  5. On to the actual feedback requested. Since I've recently levelled a Mercenary on Live, I went ahead and tried to level one on PTS. As a premise, the following is from the point of view of someone who spends 80% of his time ingame roleplaying. and the remaining 20% doing story content, daily Heroics, and random Veteran dungeons. That said, I reached the early 20's so far. The first thing I will say is that I have to add my voice to those who have pointed out the current ability unlock progression feels too slow. Having the same 3 abilities from lvl 3 to 15 gets boring fast. On top of that, not having an AoE until level 19 feels very odd compared to the Live progression, especially considering people usually start doing dungeons way before that, where AoE is often vital. The next point regards discipline-specific abilities. Why was decided to set the first one to unlock at lvl 23, when on Live it's unlocked at 10? Personally it doesn't make any sense, especially considering each current Advanced Class is their own Style in 7.0 and the umbrella class concept doesn't exist anymore and the disciplines beng active from lvl 1. It should go back to lvl 10. Either that, or have some kind of new quest introducing disciplines at lvl 23 like the old AC quests played at lvl 10, and not have them selectable until then. As it is now it's a very baffling choice on a conceptual level. As for the combat feel, even with the above issues, it still felt as easy as it is on Live while using the same amount of restriced abilties, especialy after getting the first companion. Just not particularly engaging due to the barebone base abilities at disposal. Overall there's lots of room for improvement. The general pace for abiliites progression feels way off in the early levels, which is actually the biggest problem if it was considered with new players in mind. People get bored fast and feel like the game is sluggish if their character doesn't have a good sense of progression in their abilities' toolkit within the first 15-20 levels. The current PTS iteration works directly against that. On top of that, as a veteran player, it makes the thought of rolling new alts jarring if I have to wait 30-40 levels to enjoy a class the same way I do now within the first 15-20.
  6. There was an August interview with Chris Shmidt, the game design director, on SWTOR Escape Pod Cast, where he goes into detailed answers about the whole process and their reasonings behind the 7.0 changes. It's a long interview, but where he starts speaking specifically about the class switching and combat styles.
  7. It was explained that they initially considered a more fluid system to change classes like the one FFXIV uses, but then decided for the current one to not completely invalidate the Legacy system. If they had allowed to change classes at will, from their POV, it would have made the need for alts redundant. They want us to make alts, because it's what the game has been about so far, so we are locked to 2 permanent choices. With the chance going forward that a third loadout MIGHT be added, possibly expanding the choices available.
  8. As per the title, I'm looking to buy either of those chestpieces. If anyone has one up for sale, or knows someone who does, contact me!
  9. Same problem. I've been trying to login for the last 15 minutes and it keeps telling me "Login service currently unavailable". I run the game as admin by default so that is not going to change anything, and I don't have any bitraider processes running while trying to login. Location: Europe, Italy. EDIT: And now it worked. Seems like login servers are drunk this early in the morning...
  10. Yeah, me too. Was browsing the gtn when I got dc'ed. Now both the site and the game, if you try to get in, say The Progenitor is down. And it's the ONLY server down, what the heck happened?
  11. ...playing some Witcher 3, or reading The Sword of Destiny. Humm...guess I'll end up rolling a dice to decide. xD
  12. Security Key grant might not come the same date of Subscription grant. I have about a ten days gap between the two, so it's not a given you get both at the start of Sub recurrence. On the other hand, there can be a 72 hours delay with CC grant apparently. I didn't get my Sub grant after three days, last month so I opened an ingame ticket about it. They were kind enough to check into it the following day and added the CC manually since there had been an error with the system. If you haven't still gotten yours, might be worth to open a ticket yourself to ask them about it.
  13. Seeing the twitchcon livestreams, that armor is what boosted lvl60 Jedi Knights get as starting gear. Legacy bound, so if you really want it... (although it should require lvl 60 to equip). (it's also Operations dropped gear, but I'm currently not sure if the "hood down" version can still be obtained or not. I'm positive the "hood up" version can be looted).
