  1. Hello! Returning player here! So I have been one awhile but decided to come back for awhile and play and from my first impressions this game seems to have a fair bit of population. I restarted my character and am seeing people throughout my leveling experience constantly which is a good sign. So I was hoping to get into an RP guild, as I would like to remain 100 percent in character in game. My characters story is incomplete at the moment as I am still relatively inexperienced in RP. However, my Agent essentially is a loyal to the empire to a fault and obedient to his superiors and the Sith, despite having a slight disdain for most Sith due to their infighting instead of fighting for the empire. The specifics are still yet to be thought up but if there is an empire guild that needs a good Agent I would be interested in looking into your clan! Not experienced at RP, but I am VERY experienced pvper and although things have changed "back in my day" (lol) I used to scrub kids out so if you also like pop that is a plus.
  2. So there have been many posts made on this topic in the past but most I have read about are older, so I wanted to make a new one to get fresh opinions. This doesnt have to be just Trooper vs Sith but any non force user vs force users. So the question is...do you think that a Trooper could beat a Sith in straight up 1v1 combat? I'm definitely biased but I believe the short answer is yes, but admittedly there are just SO many different variables to consider its almost to difficult to speculate on. But for entertainment sake...we shall lol. I have the idea that force users althought powerful, aren't nearly as powerful as they are sometimes percieved. Troopers can be physically stronger than their sith opponent, and faster to, in terms of CQC. Troopers make up for their lack of force powers with technology such as automatic weapons, explosives, lightning zapper things, cyro grenades, etc. I don't think even the most powerful of Sith can block an explosive, or 2, or 3, and a dozen bullets every few seconds, while remaining on the offensive...or at all really. Furthermore they are no different than anyone else in terms of frailty...they get shot, or exploded, they die just as easily. Sure a sith could force choke but even that isn't a free win. I dont think its an insta kill, it atleast takes a few moments that could be utilized to blast them. In game the fights take a considerable amount of time, but in a "real" fight w/ a special forces trooper vs a sith I believe it would be extremely fast. There is to much lethal capability on both of their parts to result in any type of long drawn out ordeal. I also think it would heavily be like the old saying of "whomever throws the first punch wins" which even in RL has some truth to it. So if the Trooper engages first and throws everything he has at the sith, all of his explosives and shock tools and putting dozens of rounds towards sith I find it highly unlikely the sith could withstand that kind of assault although I am sure there is a scenario where it can or has been done. Likewise, if the sith engages w/ all of his force techniques the fight could be over w/ 1 swing of a light saber before the trooper has a chance to fight back. Engaging at the same time...well that seems like it could just go either way imo and depends on who is more skilled but regardless of who wins I believe it would be a very fast fight. There are plenty of scenarios that could be thought up to benefit either side. But I think what should be accepted as truth is that it is just as likely for a non force user to beat a force user, all things considered. But that is just my opinion. How do yall see the age old force user vs non force user debate?
  3. Awesome guys i really apprecaite the feedback. Perhaps ill add a story of my own or something, as a shadow, to have the need to not appear to be a jedi. As my character has the staff and some infiltrators armor on.
  4. Just thinking from a lore and role play perspective. Is there a reason a jedi would ever use a cathar warstaff instead of a lightsaber? Is there any pros and cons to the warstaff? Or is the jedi lightsaber an all around better weapon? I want to use the warstaff because its cool look lol and its different than a light saber. But, if from a roleplay perspective...its inferior then i will probably go back to a light saber.
  5. Long post short. is there or would people like some type of board in game to post things to communicate to other players. Perhaps offering services of some type, your guilds event, special deals not offering on the gtn, bounty on players or guilds, or any type of job (can think of to many to post). I think this would be an awesome addition to role play and the interactive Ness of the community. Can be accessed through your cartel market or through a vendor at the fleet. any other suggestions? Am i alone in this? Is it already there and I'm just dumb? Lol
  6. Well 2.0 is coming out soon so this will all be obsolete soon I'm sure. Anyways, Im a lvl 50 operative in full WH. ( I stopped at WH cuz of 2.0 coming soon, no point in going all the way to EWH ) I tend not to have a problem with most classes 1v1 given we have similar gear on but the one class that sticks out as a pain in the *** for me is the Sentinal. Vangaurds can give me a problem to, BUT they do it in a different way. If a vanguard wins, its because they outlasted me and managed to maintain decent dps until they wear me down. But Sentinals...omglulzrofl****, they not only have that survivability to run in the middle of 5 DPSers and pick someone out, but then they have the ability to burst DPS half of my HP down in like 3 seconds, if not more. I guess I cant expect myself to be able to beat everyone, every type of class, all the time. But its awful irritating when 4 of us get on a sentinel... and he lives through 1 stun then for some reason can never get stunned again and if it weren't for the fact I can stealth away and run away lol he would kill me. He would manage to kill me...even with 4 DPSers on him. And don't get me started on that AOE blind spam! lol. Long story short...is there anyone who can make short work of them? Or is it just one of those classes that you just need to avoid at every opportunity. Which brings me to my final point!!! It seems that 70 percent of every warzone I enter is sentinel or vanguard....so I cant avoid them! lol.
