Hello everyone !

I would really love to get some kind of Royal Guard Companion, is there a way to dress one of our Companions like that :

The words you're looking for are "Dark Honor Guard" rather than "Royal Guard". And currently, my google-fu says it's not available as an armour set.

 

The guys in your second post would be a grotesque anachronism. Those are the Imperial guards from the films, which are three and half *thousand* years in the game's future.

While they can't be used as a companion, there is/was a personal Honor Guard that could be placed in your stronghold. I know I have a couple of them. If you find those on the GTN you will be paying an expensive amount of credits for them. Reason being they are from old packs and hard to find but again not a companion just a decoration for a stronghold.

Thanks, I'll start looking for it, and I'll also start browsing the GTN and the Cartel Market to see if I can find something that looks a bit like it for my Companion, or even better, a bit like the Imperial Guards from the movies !

If anyone has any idea, let me know !

Easiest outfit match for the 'era appropriate' set is probably the Dark Praetorian (https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/dark-praetorian/) or Destroyer (https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/destroyer/)

 

If you want the RotJ look, you probably want to start with helm from the Cassus Fett set (https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/cassus-fett/) and mix it with another set like the Exterminator (https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/exterminator/)

 

In most cases, you'll need to add a red / red dye.

 

Getting the Force Pike will be more of an issue: There are a couple of saber-staffs / electro-staffs that could work (like the Tythian Lightsaber Pike https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/tythian-lightsaber-pike/), but that will limit you to a saberstaff using companion...

 

ADDENDUM:

  • There is an actual 'Royal Guard Dye' in the Cartel Market
  • I looked through the companions on my Bounty Hunter (who has unlocked most of them) and Akavi Spar seems to be the best option if you want the 'weapon look' as well (she has an imposing frame, actually gets the helmet graphic, and uses an electrostaff that she stows on her back). Of course, you need to be a Bounty Hunter or Smuggler to have her...

Sorry, I was referring to the 'Dark Honor Guard' dye: There is another red/red dye on the Cartel Market that seems to work a little better.

 

I did a little more companion research and found the following saberstaff users:

  • Kira (Jedi Knight Only)
  • Nadia Grell (Jedi Counselor Only)
  • Vector (Imperial Agent Only) - Pretty much the only viable male option I've found so far.
  • Xalek (Sith Inquisitor / Universal) - No helmet slot, so can't pull off the look.
  • Jaessa - (Sith Warrior)
  • Akavi Spar - (Smuggler / Smuggler & Bounty Hunter) - Actually uses an electrostaff, so she won't be able to use one of the actual 'pikes' but she has the larger body type at least.

Basically, a lot will depend on what class you want this companion on: Unfortunately, the only 'universal' companion can't wear the helm.

Also, you seem to be out-of-luck if you want a Male guard and aren't an Agent...

Yes, that kinda sucks cos for this to make sense, you have to be a Sith Inquisitor, or maybe a Sith Warrior, in other words a Lord or a Darth, otherwise why would you have your own personal Royal Guard (or Dark Honor Guard or whatever they're called) ?

 

For now, I've dressed my Lieutenant Pierce with some of the items I've found on the GTN, I've given him a Dark Red/ Red dye from the Cartel Market, and it works pretty nice !

Of course he has a rifle and not a spike, but the way he wears it on his back kinda does the trick !

I'll try to upload a sceenshot once I get ingame so you can tell me what you think of it :rolleyes:

In the Cartel Bazaar, one of the reputation vendors sells a secondary red dye, or primary red dye. With that Praetorian set above which is partially red, you might be able to get full red suit with a pri or sec red dye.

Marauder Elite Boots

 

Unfortunately, you won't be able to use this on your companions because the Marauder Elite gear is restricted to Agents and Warriors but you should be able to find something similar.
