The High Roller weapons should have been bound to legacy

Nothing says it can't bind to legacy on equip like high level crafted items. My point is that these are hare to acquire items and they are stuck to ONE character. Having them bind to Legacy allows you to share them across your account and guaranties you won't lose the item if you need to delete a character.

Are they bind-on-equip or bind-on-pickup, currently?

They are bind on equip, like any other tradeable item in the game.

On that note, strongly disagree with OP, tradeable items are always better for player interactivity and economy, and items that have limited quantity or available are excellent additions to the game when rare. Kudos to BW on a great decision here.

says the player with 100b in their banks who just wants to price gouge everything. ( more than likely)

Bind on Equip, however they are pretty worthless on the GTN since so many have had them drop. I'd have preferred them to be bound to legacy or bound to legacy on equip which I don't think they are (someone correct me if that's wrong).

I don't have quite that many credits, but I'm certainly doing alright. Absolutely there's the investment component to it, but I think before that comes the chase component, by giving items that potential future value you drive players to participate in events that the otherwise wouldn't be interested in the rewards of.

And as someone else mentioned, it would be better for the economy in the long run especially if they raise the credit cap on the GTN to get those GTN fees out of the economy.

Not all player to player trade has to involve credits. This is both good for players with less credits that want to trade these items for something else (or credits) and for players that don't want to invest time in the event to get the specific items they want from it.

Obviously the downside is that players won't be able to move it from character to character once equipped.

I would've been just content if they added a collections unlock feature to the sellable High Roller weapons {shrug}

This. I wouldn't mind so much, if they added Seasonal stuff to Collections, like the Life Day wampa, mount, pets, etc.

I haven't gotten a single one, so I'll likely be heading to the GTN before the event ends, to pick up some of them. I did get a gnarly mount on one character, and the chick pet on another, but still disappointed that they aren't in collections.

Moving credits between players pockets is not a credit sink, especially if it's done outside of the GTN.

So?

An item which is legacy never needs to be bought again.

Each cosmetic emperors item deletes millions from the game and to equip multiple you must obtain multiple which means someone even if it's not you has to burn credits from their pocket to obtain it.

Except that you can obtain them spending quite literally 0 credits in the process.

Such odds of getting the loot with just free rolls :D

I will happily guess that trillions of credits will be destroyed by the casino in this event.

You don't have to spend billions to win at space barbie but it helps enormously.

by the time this event is over even the most expensive High Roller weapons will be around 50-80 million credits.

It's fine they are so common but I wish there were grades of these weapons.

Current versions of the weapons as BOE, common, then a much rarer drop BOL version where the pink lights change based on your crystal. This would drive people to spend more credits trying to get that rare BOL version with light changing effect.

There is still the mount and 3 pets that are BOL. But if you were playing for the weapons you can pop over to the GTN and pick them up easily. This seems to defeat the purpose of the event being a credit sink

It's still a credit sink even if you're not sinking credits buying them on the GTN, b/c most likely the people selling them got them by buying chips and THEY sunk the credits to get them on the GTN (even if they're profiting).

Example: I personally played for cartel certs and the companion for my Agent, spent about 500million credits. Got all the cartel certs I wanted, and enough golden certs for the companion...and a few high roller weapons, which I ended up selling for somewhere around 700-800million credits (this was on the first couple days of the event).

*Personally,* I made money, and ended up about 200-300million credits richer, but that doesn't change the fact that 500 million credits were still removed from the game.

it is still a credit sink but it could be a lot heavier like it was for me last year trying to get the high roller glasses. I farmed over 500 Emperor Tokens to get 1 pair of glasses. I would have easily spent a couple billion instead but tokens were not sold directly.

This year I'll let the luckier people win the weapons and I'll pick them up for around 25-50m each in a week or so.

If there was a legacy bound version of each weapon that had an even lower drop chance but a special effect of the weapon crystal changing the lights or a gaudy "credit" animation when readying the weapon, it would force anyone interested in the rare BOL weapon version to farm it themselves increasing the total amount spent using the credit sink.
