Darth Junkie Gaming presents: The SWTOR Champions Series.

The Series will be composed of 3 regional 2v2 Arena-style Tournaments, hosted on the Rishi stronghold. The NA Tournaments will be hosted on the Star Forge server, and the EU Tournaments will be hosted on the Darth Malgus server. Depending on their team’s placement in each tournament, each player will be rewarded with Series Points. Series Points will be accumulated in order to qualify for a final SWTOR World Championship. You can sign up with different players for the different tournaments. After the 3 regional tournaments, the combined score of the team that you sign up with for the World Championship will be used to determine qualification. The 4 teams with the highest total points from NA and the 4 teams with the highest total points from EU will take part in the World Championship. To make this easier to understand, we give an example.

Suppose Player1, Player2, and Player3 wish to play in the NA tournaments. Suppose Player1 and Player2 win the 1st tournament and get 4 points each. Then, Player1 and Player3 play together for the 2nd tournament and get second to get 3 points each. In the 3rd tournament, Player2 and Player3 win and get 4 more points each. Then,

Player1 has 7 total points,

Player2 has 8 total points, and

Player3 has 7 total points.

If Player1 and Player2 sign up for the World Championship together, their team will have 15 total points, and this will be used to decide whether they qualify or not.

The first NA tournament will take place on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 on the Star Forge server. The first EU tournament will take place on Sunday, August 29th, 2021 on the Darth Malgus server.

The tournament will run a single elimination bracket. Each match will be a best of 3, where each round will be a 2v2 in the Arena on the Rishi Stronghold.

The minimum number of teams required to run the tournament will be 8, the maximum number of teams accepted will be 16. Sign ups will be first-come first-served, and teams that register after that 16 team limit has been reached can be placed on a waitlist in case a team drops out of the tournament. Depending on the number of teams, the bracket will be changed to include byes which will be randomized for the first tournament. Series Points will be used to determine seeding for the subsequent tournaments.

The team that you sign up with must abide by the following rules:

No Tank specs.

No Healing specs.

No Operatives/Scoundrels of any spec.

You may not have 2 of the same class. For example, a team with 2 Sorcerers is not allowed.

You may not have a team with 2 off healing classes. Since operatives and class stacking are not allowed, this only applies to teams of a Sorcerer/Sage with a Mercenary/Commando.

If your composition breaks any of these rules, you will not be allowed to compete.

During the matches, you must abide by the following rules.

No off-guarding. That is, Assassins/Shadows, Powertechs/Vanguards, Juggernauts/Guardians in DPS specs may not use guard on their teammate.

No sap-healing. For example, an Assassin may not use Force Cloak to get out of combat, Mind Trap their opponent, and use Seethe. You can, however, heal out of combat, just without sapping.

No consumables may be used except for Warzone Medpacs and Warzone Adrenals. Some examples of consumables that you may not use are:

Grenades of any kind, for example [Advanced V-9 Seismic Grenade].

Non-Warzone adrenals, for example [Advanced Kyrprax Critical Adrenal].

No resurrecting your dead teammate. This applies to combat rezzes and stealth rezzing.

You may not use the Life Warden tactical.

You may not use guild perks of any kind, for example [Endurance Supplement] or [Major Hasten].

You may not change any of your gear, including your tactical, during a match.

If at any point during a match you break one of these rules you will be disqualified from the tournament.

Prizes are currently being figured out, so stay tuned!
