Was it? thats just the thing: i dont know, but i recently realized i have a large number of them since i have alliance specialists at rank 20 and dont need any companion gifts atm so i dont use them - but it would be a shame to waste them now should they turn up to be useful for something new in 7.0 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LordCamTheGreat Posted September 19, 2021 Share Posted September 19, 2021 (edited) They're still useful for increasing your alliance specialist influence levels, doing the resistance missions on other characters, getting companion gifts and the remnant set gear. At the very least you can just sell the duplicate gear and companion gifts for a few more credits. I doubt they'll disappear because they're still used for kotfe content and due to the reasons listed by others - they weren't removed in 5.0 or 6.0. Would be nice if we were given a choice between the current heroic crate and a new one. That way players who have finished the alliance specialist missions and completed their remnant sets gain another reason to keep running heroics. However the Legacy gear from them has been added to cartel collections for that reason alone i do not see them going away anytime soon. How would new players increase the reputation with specials and in base in general if they are removed? DWho Posted December 7, 2021 Share Posted December 7, 2021 (edited) I did open a couple on the PTS and they still contained the gear and the companion gifts. The gear could not be sold to a vendor since it had a zero credit value which it is likely to have when the sets go into collections. As far as any value in credits they might have, the last PTS build was not in good shape so it isn't clear whether those crates are representative of what will go live. They should work normally for Alliance operative influence (and Star Fortress missions) Perhaps a Dev or Jackie could comment on the future status of these crates.
