So I ran a few missions, heroics, flashpoints, and pvp both arena and battleground.

Overall it was about as expected.

Hammer Station was a tad bit more challenging at level 70 veteran. Need to see if it can still be soloed, but not too slow or too fast. The gear drops are back to 4 per boss and all for DPS no more tank gear nice.

PVP.

The rewards seem to be lacking compared to the flashpoints. A few pieces and the medpacks and one isotope in the Flashpoints I got nearly seventy isotopes. Then again I think I was the only one needing.

Quests seem to be fine.

Heroics are not dropping the supply crates not sure if it is because I am level 75 or not, but we may still want to max out our specialists.

Other than the cone head *** on the Death Knell set I like what the set bonus does for my DPS.

Still, think new assassin slash is situational at best.

Wait, WHAT, you have to need or greed in pvp to get gear.? Please tell me that’s a mistake

Are set bonuses not functioning in this phase?

I grabbed 3 different sets of gear, all where the 2 piece is 2% alacrity, but am only see 2% overall, even thought it should be 6% because it is 3 different set bonuses, so they should not override/invalidate one another.

No, it only adds 2% to the total # of the stat, not the overall percentage. So if you have 1000 for the alacrity stat, the bonus is only 20 extra points.

So in otherwords, all the 2 piece set bonuses are worthless.

Well, that is terrible.

I didn't see any need/greed for anything in the reg's pvp that I played. It looks to me like we get a gear box every time we get a win. (I was mostly on the winning side, but I'm medium-certain that for losses there was no box.) I hope that's on purpose and they keep it that way to give a bit more incentive to actually try to win.

Yes, that sounds like a good system to make people try and play properly

For the moment i could not do much, but so far this how is see 3.0:

The good:

* No more tank gear on DPS. (so far at least)

* Reduced TF cost for hilt/barrels/armorings/mods/enh (THANK YOU)

* Renown points seems we are getting more. Partly i think mission reward was fixed and the other part is probably a side effect of new level sync to 70 instead of lower levels so each trash mobs has a more decent base exp value that now traslates in better RXP and also conquest points. If that is the case, shows that level sync and points from fixed exp (to content lvl) are not a good combination as it is unfair.

* Gear crates. Still need some work as i get too many repeats in the same box and very few upgrades. But i like them.

The "so so":

* Isotopes from Vet Flashpoint and in decent amounts. Why "so so" and not good? Because is just a bad patch to a horrible mechanic. Needing isotopes to craft green gear is still wrong, needing large amounts is worst. Green and Blue gear is mostly used to RE (up to tgrade 10 there was not even green in crafting). Considering the loot all arround green/blue and even purple crafted gear will not compete with that even if grade 11 required the same as grade 10.... (*) To be continued in "The Insanely Bad" (*)

The Bad:

* Still too many downgrades from loot and gear crates rewards in general, i would say 20% or less can work as an upgrade. MH/OH are the worst because as they are moddable the RNG still provides very low rating on some on them. From RNG vendor, upgrades seems to work better than loot, except for MH/OH.

* I have yet to get a single Gold crafting mat. Are we supose to get them from crew missions? How low are the odds? From an artifice schematic of a tactical (i got it from kai in pts 2.0) we will require large amounts of this.

* Will renown crates not provide any other new items like GC does now? I mean cosmetics, rep, rare mats or even a small chance of cool stuff like grand chance cubes? Getting 1 piece of gear or 1 + mod per crate seems anticlimatic. Gear crates seems way better than this.

* Too many failures doing crew missions. Even with lvl 50 companions.

* I have only seen a single new color crystal for crafting and not a single dye. Grade 10 was already not very good in this and while we had plenty of new reputations during 5.X, not a single schematic in them. Now it seems is the same or worst. There are plenty of dye colors and combinations that people want and if you don't want to sell them in CM i see no downsides in adding a few decent options to crafting. And i would not mind needing to farm a rep to be able to craft them.

The Insanely Bad:

(*) While amount was lowered, crafting greens still requires rare purples. Get it: Greens should require white and greens. Blue: White, green and blue. Purple: White, green, blue and purple. There is no point in having items rarity, only to create a system that completely ignores it.

These devs don't know what to do with crafting. Personally I thought it was fine before they added that extra item you had to craft to craft other items. Crafting became annoying after that and now with the rare items needed to craft greens....ya i'll just stick to gathering skills and sell the mats.

Okay so I know this is about balance but.... let's talk about all the possibilities of gear.... There is 11 different odds for Armorings and 60 for mods and 120 for Enhancements.... I thought Vanilla SWTOR gearing was rough but this takes the cake.... I get you want Play your way and all this flavor etc but c'mon really? Also do you realize how much it's tilted to the favor of the wealthier player? I am just sitting here mind blown with all due respect can we just have a gearing system that is like Vanilla and or 2.0 please?

Play our way with this many gear possibilities would mean a vendor that wasn’t RNG and just let us choose,

I mean in gear. For low levels you have green mods from vendors, and crafting starts in blue.

back in the day, everything started green, gear, augments, gear mods, maybe even nades were green (not sure about that tho).. but it wasnt as complex, you got mats, you crafted whatever you had mats for, you didnt need puples for blue stuff, if you were crafting blue Synth thing you needed Archae+UT and not slicing, not purple exotic with blue byproduct that you make from green byproduct.. you didnt need to craft plenty of those by-products that now cost holys**t amount of mats to get to 680 when you get first chance to buy new augments... like.. crafting got weird and more complicated imo...

Ya crafting was way better back in the day. They added a bunch of steps and basically required an alt for one of the gathering requirements which wasn't a thing before they started changing stuff.

Totally missed the game that time :(

Requiring alts to have complete independance while crafting is something i see in other games. But here in SWTOR it did not feel restrictive mostly because of two things: leveling crew skills is fast and for the most part not tied to character level. Progression inside a tier was also very good requiring rarest mats as rating increased. Exotics only for the top.

The new exotics requirment for green fillers along the huge mats inflation are the biggest issues i have with new system.

Hey all,

We are going to bring PTS down briefly this AM to deploy a new patch. That patch is going to be putting crafting materials on the boost terminals to allow for easy crafting of high-end augments.

Thanks all.

-eric

Putting crafting mats on the boost terminal does not address the fact that current PTS crafting costs are ridiculous.

the gearing system is horrible, there are too many variations of armourings, modifications and enhancements, it will be a night mare to get BiS. And set bonuses are tired to the clothing. Well, how are people supposed to gear alts now?
