Sensors

Can someone explain how these work?

  • Sensor radius
  • Sensor focus range
  • Sensor dampening
  • Communication range

Sensor radius refers to how much you can see all around your ship on the mini map and is helpful for preventing people from sneaking up on you. Increasing sensor radius increases the “sphere” around your ship.

Sensor focus range refers to a cone of vision directly in front of your ship that allows you to target and physically see enemies. The larger your sensor focus range, the longer the cone and the further away you can see and target enemies. Sensor focus and sensor radius also stack.

Sensor dampening is your ability to hide from enemy sensors both on their mini map and on the screen. Your sensor dampening range subtracts from the enemy’s sensor radius and sensor focus values. For example, if you’re fighting a Scout with 15k radius and 15k focus, and your ship has 5k sensor dampening, you can sneak up behind them out to 10k meters before they see you on the mini map. If you’re approaching from the front, you can get to within 25k meters before they can pick you up.

Communication range refers to your ability to relay what your sensors see to the teammates around you and vice versa. The more communication range you have, the further away you can share and receive sensor information.

Hope that helps!

useless waste of a component slot is what they are.

Say you’re bad at GSF without saying you’re bad at GSF, lol.

BTW, we’ve already had this debate, which I concluded by saying the question was answered and you’re wasting time by spouting nonsense. Then, our entire back and forth was deleted by the mods, meaning that you trying to be a troll on this post is clearly not going to work out. So, maybe you should stop.

Answering your earlier statement - seeing 4 red triangles going to a sat ~10 seconds before the sat will start pulsing can mean a difference between succesful save and sat tlip to enemy.
