Republic Trooper- How bad can you treason?

So I just did the Iokath/onsalught questline on my sith. My trooper is my alt, but he is also darkside... how far can you take the treason? side with empire then sabotage the republic - what is the outcome of that? It seems like you're pulling a Tavus lol.

No, you're not pulling a Tavus - he defected, but you remain behind as a Fifth Columnist.
Something you find difficult is a lesson on how to play better, not a punishment for playing badly.

It helps if you don't think of yourself as a Benedict Arnold, rather think of yourself as 2,000 years ahead of your time (the Republic army becomes the Imperial army when the Republic is organized into the first Galactic Empire under Palpatine.... )
