SteveTheCynic
some people say, it is a p2w lockcrate or something. Anyone who says that is just plain wrong. OP: When you've finished Chapter IX of KotFE (when you land on Odessen), you can trade these crates (there are four kinds) to the Alliance Specialists, of whom you know the name of one, Hylo Visz. You get a "Commander's Share" crate in return, and you can open those for: * One legacy-bound empty moddable adaptive gear shell. See below for more info. * One purple-grade-5 or yellow-grade-6 companion gift(1) -- OR -- one speeder. * Possibly one other companion gift. * Definitely some credits. The gear shells are randomly selected, but all are called "Remnant <theme> <class> <name of piece>". The "name of piece" is what you'd expect, an identifier for which armour slot the piece is for. The class is a word or two which identifies a visual class-like theme (is it trooperish, smugglerish, etc.?), while the theme is one of: * Arkanian * Yavin * Dreadguard * Resurrected * Underworld If you don't want to keep them, vendors will buy them for several thousand credits per piece. (1) It's random which grade you get, and it's random which type you get.
SoontirMorillo
some people say, it is a p2w lockcrate or something. Anyone who says that is just plain wrong. "Wrong" is a strong word. But we can agree on "it's debatable". Edited February 1, 2021 by SoontirMorillo
SteveTheCynic
"Wrong" is a strong word. But we can agree on "it's debatable". No. There's no debate. You acquire the locked Alliance crates by gameplay (Heroic mission rewards at level 61+, among other things), you unlock them by gameplay (visiting people in a place you unlock as part of the story), and the contents don't, ultimately, help you win. There's no real money exchanged anywhere in the equation. Heck, you don't even have to be a subscriber while you're doing it. So no, it's not any sort of P2W anything. JediQuaker
To clarify, for our home viewers - P2W stands for "Pay to win". There may be some confusion about what P2W means. Mr. Cynic is, of course, correct that there is no p2w aspect to these crates, so I can only assume the OP is mistaken about the meaning of "p2w". We now return to our program.... Hylo Visz is one of the Alliance specialists you meet during the Odessen story. She and the 3 others are stationed in specific areas of your Odessen base. If you don't have your Odessen base yet, just save the crates until you do, and then turn them in to the appropriate Specialist. 🙂 Edited February 2, 2021 by JediQuaker

Heya, Steve. Is there any chance you can tell me where I can find a vendor? EDIT: I think I found her, I didn't read one of the aforementioned posts Edited February 4, 2021 by Kiyomore
Dhaman
Helpful Tip: Open your Companions and Contacts page (default: N). Find the Contacts > Alliance Specialists section. Select one and in the top-right, you can "TRAVEL TO CONTACT". Also, near end of Ch 13, you are dropped right in front of Hylo; so, you can just hold onto it until then. Not a big deal.
