So, let's say you buy the stronghold on Alderaan. If, in a few thousand years, the unthinkable were to happen, is the stronghold covered in an insurance policy? Do you get a refund on the property?

Depends if you, BioWare, your Insurance policy, your insurer, etc. will still be around in a few thousand years' time. (It's not far off from roughly one year in-game for one year of elapsed real time.)

Not to mention that it might be classed as either "force majeure"(1) or an "Act of God"(1), and the insurer would try to wriggle out of it that way.

(1) They are essentially the same thing, extraordinary events outside of human (specifically the insurer and insured) control. Force majeure refers to things caused by people (war, civil unrest, that sort of thing, but on a major scale), and an act of God is, without regard to any belief or lack thereof in a deity, a *natural* occurrence, floods, earthquakes, forest fires, that sort of thing.

Yes, but you have to collect the refund from the main office on Alderaan. 🤔

What makes you believe something like that could possibly occur?

Sadly, most insurance companies only provide coverage so long as the planet still exists. With the planet-side databases now in various states of disintegration it is hard to determine whether or not you even had an account with the company to begin with.
