Grade 7 Space Missions TOO HARD!

Heroic Space Missions (Grade 7) are difficultly scaled way too high in comparison to the grade 5 missions. Can we get this nerfed so I can actually get the flaming reputation?? Please BW it is not fun continuously dying over and over again. I realise this is old content but would be nice if their is some decent conquest rewards aswell for doing this. Edited by Deadbladey

Or you just try to get better at it, right? These missions are definitely doable if you upgrade your ship with the highest components.

Yeah, people would be surprised at how 'easy' these can be once you get down the pattern, because they largely rely on pattern recognition. I failed them over and over with subpar gear and while it was initially frustrating (after the first afternoon spent going at them), they became pretty easy. Have a Cybertech character on standby to craft 3 of the major max pieces, grind up just enough to purchase 3 others with comms and I believe is available with credits from the start. I'll quote myself from another thread:

You can start fully outfitting your ship for one character within a week. There are heroics for characters at higher levels beyond 50+ that reward a fair amount of comms for the gear. Believe me, it hung over my head for years before I got to grinding it out. One character's semi-geared ship with blues from around launch went to a fully decked out ship with only 450k credits spent and a weekend of getting the hang of the missions with the guides open for efficiency.

Come on folks, its not an esport, failure is fine. I failed my way upward and came out better for it. Failure is the best teacher and your reflexes don't have to be sharp because the variables barely change on each try, so its down to memorization and gear. You can outright buy 3 or 4 of the essential parts for cheap (sub 1m, which is nothing these days) and again, you don't NEED grade 7 stuff. It just makes more room for error.

Btw, GSF daily+weekly rewards a ton of the commendations for the PVE space missions. You don't have to win, just spend some time doing something different. I finished the weeklies in less than an hour and a half, even faster on CQ weeks encouraging GSF. If you're looking for a carry to speed it up, ask in the GSF chat channel, the aces are pretty cool about it. You might learn something too.

If you're on Star Forge, I'll happily send you some upper tier stuff but it is advised that you use them one 1 character and get started grinding up with them before expanding. You can max out the rep in a few weeks and that's with casual play, which becomes simple enough after some time in these. Youtube also has great 'guides' which are just vids showing you some less stressful techniques/moves/tricks.

Climbing mount Everest is doable...but not everyone can do it. Just upgrade your equipment to the best you can get...

No, they are not 'doable' for everyone, for many reasons which has been discussed already in several threads, there are reasons why it's not.

I've only managed to do 1 of them so far but not consistently. Also would be nice if JackieKo replied with some clarification on why the there is such a jump in skill requirement/difficulty between grade 5 and 7 missions and if they plan on changing it in future at all (grade 8 upgrades for instance).

This is the only reputation track that I didn't complete. Whatever little I do have is from those consumables that used to drop from the Command Crates; they removed those along with the companion gifts from the Renown Crates, so that was that.

These are labeled HEROIC but are obviously solo missions. They are also not consistent with most of the HEROIC missions in the game in terms of the difficulty level; they're much more difficult than HEROIC Star Fortress missions, for example.

Toning down these missions is not an unreasonable request in my opinion; it is very much similar to saying the new SoV flashpoint needs to be toned down in the Solo / Story modes. The other part is adding reputation rewards to lower level missions to help players progress on that front.

Is anyone else unable to get reputation tokens from space pve missions nowadays?

Is anyone else experiencing a weird situation where some of the space pve missions suddenly stop resetting on weekly basis?

See here for full description:

If you are experiencing anything like this, pls post about it @ bug report forums.

^ Yeah.. Sometimes is " always" at least for me. I have to esc out every single time if I wanna see the rep. I speculate doing so is what broke few of the Grade 7 missions for me; they aren't resetting for me anymore.

I think this bug became a thing back when game began auto-popping the rep tokens instead of just sending them to inventory.

Bit more topical:

Its all about muscle memory for grade 7 missions. They are fairly unforgiving and you need to use each of your big cooldowns in specific locations.

The difficulty curve is definitely not helpful in any way. I've played this game a long time and have learned a lot over the years--this game being my first meaningful MMO experience--but the first steps I took prepared me for the later steps. Not so with on-rails space missions. It goes right from stupidly easy to stupidly hard, with the provided incentive for learning to do the hardest missions being incredibly thin.

Sadly it seems highly unlikely to me that this part of the game is going to get any kind of attention anymore, so what we've got is what we've got to deal with.

I get this is old content but I think a lot of people would go back to doing it again if it wasn't so damn difficult :)

except they fixed that bug a while ago and space missions will not auto pop the rep tokens. I just capped their rep last week and every time I just accepted the mission and the tokens where in my inventory.

And I will say, I have severe physical limitations with my arms/hands (meaning I'm not quick or fast with anything especially clicking or pushing buttons), and I was able to finish the grade 7 missions after a couple pulls. They are very much doable, the rest of the game is already easy and it's nice to have some challenge still there.

Do you have some guides I could follow then? Because I'm really struggling with them :)

I agree, which is why it has been asked several times. or even to have the green rep available from the easier missions. It's the only rep I haven't maxed out.

The heroic (grade 7) missions are not daily missions after you've complete them once they can only be done on a certain day per week. Check here for the reset days http://dulfy.net/2012/12/13/swtor-pa...issions-guide/

Nah it isn't that. Lorta Escort and Hypori Escort missions have been unavailable for me since August or so. They don't show up on space pve terminal at ship, they aren't sitting in my mission log. I was able to do each of them couple of times last summer.. They'd reset on weekly basis..til they didn't. Both have been gone for several months now.

I do pve space stuff on one imp char, one rep char. Both are affected by this.

Why do these threads keep appearing now??

Look, they are not hard, they are just different. Its virtually the same scenario just increased damage. The same goes for stuff like Master mode KOTFE etc. This is a PVE rail shooter, once you get the hang of it, they will be too easy for you!!!

You can buy the grade 7 gear on GTN, its mostly like 4 mil a piece so entry to this mode is easy. You can look up the guides to these missions on youtube, heck I can make videos now if you want! I havent done them in years, but I still bet I can do them. The main key is USE THE ROLL (spacebar).

Please stop asking for nerfs in this game! It has been nerfed too much already in many areas. In the end we will just get the "win button"!

Hey Deadbladey,

The Grade 7 Missions are intended to be challenging especially for players who have mastered everything in the Grade 5 Mission. You are meant to have almost max level ship gear and have knowledge of when to strategically use your abilities. However, there is little to no RNG, so that will help with planning your route and trying new techniques tp complete the mission. While Grade 7 is the most challenging piece of content for this mode of the game, it is definitely doable with the right gear and strategies.

EDIT: I'll also be moving this discussion to the appropriate sub-forum.

Hi Jackie thanks for the response just wondering is there gonna be any changes made to dailies so we can get reputation from all of them? Or new upgrades added at some point to make it easier?

1st Bioware post in GSF section in million years..

aaaand its about pve railshooter, not GSF.

JackieKo, if you still here, pls take a look at Petition to nerf remote slicing thread! It makes some valuable feedback.

JackieKo, this is the wrong location for this thread, as it's PVE space missions, not GSF. I know PVE space missions have been forgotten since 2012, but they don't belong here.

Also, +1 to what Deadbladey said below!!!!! Currently, only the Heroic space missions award reputation. It would be fanastic if ALL space missions awarded reputation (even green ones). There are many more of us out here that can't pass the heroic PVE space missions, and it's the ONLY way to get the reputation now. It's a major problem.
