martinenko_ee
What is the most comfortable "combat proficiency" for PVE content? telekinetics, balance, or seer? What are the best skills and their rotations? What is the best companion? (they have different skills, don't they?)
martinenko_ee
Is there a good site, discord server, forum post, that explains with great detail what skills are good and what are meh? What combination should I use?

SteveTheCynic
What is the most comfortable "combat proficiency" for PVE content? telekinetics, balance, or seer? Telekinetics is good for DPS, exactly equivalent to Lighting on a Sorcerer. Seer is a *healing* Discipline, so it will be *slow* (low damage output). I haven't played Balance, so I can't offer any insight. What are the best skills and their rotations? See the Vulkk link that mike provided. (Oh, and they are called "abilities" in SWTOR. "Skills" refers to crafting and gathering stuff.) What is the best companion? (they have different skills, don't they?) Companion ability sets are broadly similar for companions with similar weapons. There are four main ability sets: * One hitting stick (including lightsabres of any kind) * Two hitting sticks (looking like Sentinel / Marauder) * One gun (of any size) * Two guns (pistols). Gun companions are ranged, while hitting stick companions are melee. There's some minor fussies about healing mode and guns vs sticks (mostly you want healing companions to stay out of the main fight, so melee companions aren't the best for that), and some other minor differences about one versus two weapons, but mostly the differences aren't worth fussing over. Influence ranks have a far greater impact on companion performance.
