xordevoreaux
The Force reacts to emotions. We see this in how intelligent, force-sensitive creatures engage the Force. Some strive to rein their emotions, stifle them, subsequently letting the Force do as it will with them. We call those people Jedi. Then there are those who marshal their energies to reach the opposite state, a constant emotive flare of hate and rage, to contort the Force, to impose their will on the Force, rather than the opposite, that they may wield the Force as a weapon. We call those people Sith. This strict, binary mode of approaching the Force certainly works, we see the results using both techniques. But I wonder. Can one not sustain lust—as opposed to hate and rage—to accomplish the same ends much as a Sith? Some would say lust is not sustainable, some would laugh, and say... hold my beer, I've got plenty of Cialis and a whole bunch of little friends in this bag right here to reach all manner of states of lusty, let's give it a whirl. How fascinating it would be to find an entire order of Force wielders based entirely on lust, on physical desire. Some would say lust is not so much different than hate, but unless your , I'll argue the point. So surprising no culture ever evolved to explore wielding the Force in this way, rather than just settling on hate and rage. Maybe even happiness, or sadness. Could you imagine maintaining constant depression in order to use the Force? Darth Vox: I am all anger and rage! I will destroy you with my anger! Darth Eeyore: I just got my annual home owner's association assessment. I'll flick you out of existence. MadDutchman
The simple reason this doesn't exist is because this isn't a porno An entire society fueled by lust might make for an "interesting" ecchi or hentai, but it is hardly sustainable on a social level and the real world doesn't work that way, and even a fictional universe like Star Wars won't twist reality that far. The point of the post is what is one emotion versus another? Also if you refer to "this" as the game please observe I posted in the general Star Wars forum, not the SWTOR forum, I'm not talking about the game. but it is hardly sustainable on a social level And unfortunately anger is? SteveTheCynic
And unfortunately anger is? It seems to work fairly well for people in the modern world.
Shayddow
What about other emotions? Greed for example. Greed is certainly sustainable. (wall street movie - "greed is good") Could you power the force on greed?
