So tired of uneven matches

The thing is that matches only end up that way when people leave. Matches only start with even numbers on both sides. However, people decide they don’t want to PvP and exit the matches. That deserter debuff really paid dividends, let me tell you. 😂

Usually someone comes in to backfill. But if the match is already in progress, it’s hard to make that happen, particularly in arenas. And if they make people wait in spawn until someone can fill the open spot before the match starts, that will lead to wait times, which will lead to more people leaving.

In 2v3 or 3v4 if you are no premade group just stuck... do not listen to get gud becouse in 95% it's not possible it's not like through constant play you become some kind of superplayer. If you regulary play pvp you are on your level... that's it.

What I don’t understand is why the matches go ahead in the first place.

The system should just automatically requeue everyone and then make an even match by leaving out one player till the next match and then they have first priority on the pop.

And what’s really f***ing annoying is when you start a 3v3 or 2v2 and then it adds 1 more player to the other team in the second or third round, so that it becomes 3v4 or 3v2. That is the dumbest crap ever

Once the match starts, just lock it so it doesn’t back fill and the sides stay even. Keep them at 3v3 or 2v2. Surely the system can do that that with a tweak to the code?

The devs would need to play the game, in order to know it’s an issue. Bugs like this exist, because they’ve no idea this happens.

That’s just not true because we’ve had two way discussions with ChrisS on discord about this particular problem. The issue isn’t that they don’t know (because they bloody do know).

No, the issue is they either don’t care or they can’t fix it cause they don’t know how to or they don’t want to slow down the pop times for anyone.

The last reason is the one I believe is the closest. They would rather we have uneven numbers as long as someone doesn’t have to wait too long in the queue. Cause that would muck up some golden KPI statistic they need to achieve.

Sadly, they don’t get that it’s a terrible experience. That is the part you are correct in. They don’t play their own game enough to understand when we tell them how f***ing bad odd number games are.

Matchmaking was supposed to help but really it's only hurt matches in most cases.

It's too easy for anyone to unintentionally or intentionally screw the balancing of match-making.

All it takes is a healer or even a tank to queue up and forget they're queued while being AFK, or intentionally declining the match. With match-making changes that were made some time ago, they do their best to match healer to healer and tank to tank, support roles split as evenly as the system can be. So, I am pretty sure you can see how this can be easily abused maliciously and or unintentionally.

It’s not the matchmaking per say. It’s starting matches with unbalanced team numbers. Ie 3v4 or 2v4 or backfilling when a game already has 3v3 and it makes it 4v3 the next round.

Matchmaking works like this:

Speed>MMR>60-40 Split

First it finds the fastest games for the que. Then it gets the MMR of the players followed by splitting them onto a team that has a 60 percent to 40 percent winning chance based on MMR.

Devs have already said they don't want 50-50 match making because those games are to even.(it was in some interview a bit ago.) and want matches to be 60-40.

Matches are supposed to feel uneven.

If all that is true, then there really is no hope for pvp in this game when we have Bozo’s like that deciding what players consider fun or fair.

Could you imagine devs from any of the esport games saying something like that about competitive pvp in their games. They’d be laughed out of the industry.

Actually lol uses an offset as well. It's not as extreme. I want to say 5 percent in favor of one team.
