Where the F do I go to reach this area? I have been scouring the planet for hours JUST trying to FIND this quest. what kind of moron made this map??

Please give us a little context. Where are you looking? Where does the "mapnote" (mission symbol on the map) say to go? Post a screenshot (take the shot, upload to a photo-sharing site like imgur, post a link here) so we can see what you're looking at.

 

Don't forget that there's a good-sized chunk of the map that's only reachable by first taking a taxi or a lift to the Gorinth Plateau area.

 

EDIT: and if you're *on* Gorinth Plateau, and it looks like you're standing right *on* the mapnote, that's because the entry is *not* on the plateau, so you have to go to the military base right near the bottom of the lifts.

 

And yes, it was designed by a Sith, probably kin of the DS Inquisitor. "Scream, weakling! I want to hear your suffering!"

Yeah after a very long and painful search I discovered the only way to find it was ignore what the map says since the map is completely awful and does nothing but show an end location on a map which makes it its mission in life to make sure you never get anywhere.
