I'm nearing a 100 kills on yellow Fungus elites and I haven't seen The Catalyst once or had a single symbiotic bloom drop. I've asked around and nobody seems to have seen it either.

 

Can anyone doing the event this week confirm whether they had any luck ?

Ran around the tunnels with two other people on the pvp instance and got Catalyst to spawn in place of the champion in the heroic area. Took us about an hour, so we got lucky, but at least we know the spawn isn't bugged or anything.

I acquired Symbiotic Fungal Bloom this event from both the Catalyst and as a drop from one of the others.

Yeah, an increase to the drop rate would be nice. I have done the Rakghoul event pretty much every time it is up. I have never gotten one.....SMH

In my experience it's a quite low drop rate if not the Catalyst.

 

If you need and can't seem to get to drop, you could always try to trade for them. They can't be put on GTN, but can be traded directly.
