I main a sorc healer, but I've recently started to learn how to heal with a mercenary and I'm finding it a bit difficult to transition.

As a sorc healer, I can place static barriers on my tanks and I can see the debuff clearly on my ops frame which helps me know when the barriers have dropped off and when to refresh them. As a merc healer, I am placing kolto shells on my raid group but I am having trouble easily telling when to refresh them.

I know I can see the kolto shell if I click on the target and look really closely at their buffs, but this is hard for me to do during the boss fights. How do experienced merc healers know when to refresh kolto shell?

You can do 1 of 2 things(or even better both).

1.: Just get a feeling for it/learn it, by playing more and more merc

2.: Use the Hot overlay from starparse
