For the last 2 days i have been unable to play swtor without using a vpn set to usa. I am in the UK. i have tried all the launcher troubleshooting steps such as flushing dns cache changing to non streaming launcher and reinstalling the game nothing works. I attach my recent log in the hope someone can help me.

I am getting the message that the login service is down and to check the forums. I find this strange. I don't see anything in the forums that would be about the CURRENT log in service. It would seem odd that it would be in the forums and not some other type of message if it is down and we can't get into the game.

I had the problem too, but after several try it corrected itself. I am in actually

 

I noticed though that i get that message sometimes if i use the kb touch ENTER rather than use the click on with mouse.

 

I have this also on the website. I now never use the kb enter to log into the game, except when i forgot

If a VPN allows you to login then It is likely a net routing issue , this is usually confined to an ISP so everyone on that ISP can be affected and can take up to 5 - 7 days to come good.

 

The issue will be reaching launchpad.swtor.com and a ping with no vpn will fail but the vpn by routing differently can reach it hence it works
