  1. Records are all updated; the ones submitted here since last update were fine, but a few on the Discord are in purgatory for now due to submission errors or missing info (if you submitted there, that might be relevant to you). Again, I want to remind everyone that not every submission needs multiple screenshots (consult the rules to learn which ones do). If they do, however, be sure to bundle them into one album--meaning one hyperlink, so I have just one thing to link to both here and on Google. Remember, if you have any questions or comments (and the answer isn't in the OP), hit me up.
  2. I wasn't referring to that record specifically--I haven't added that one yet cos it's in one album with eight other games. Ditto everything else in that post. For the dq'd medals submissions, I was referring to this: ...and this: The former doesn't cut it cos it's only 14 medals in Dom and not 16+, and the latter one doesn't cut it cos it's in a TDM. Here's the thing, if you only require one screenshot for full info regarding the record/game in question, then just link to that specific image. Albums only really come into play when you need 2 or more screenshots to make a record "count", for example: a game with two records to be submitted; one for dps (shown on the scoreboard), and one for sh% (shown on the ship-specific performance tab) a solo kills record where you needed to go to the performance or earnings tabs to prove you were indeed in one ship the entire match, cos it didn't show up in the chat window/event log
  3. Added. You said yourself those shots are from a game that occurred "some months ago". As pointed out by Flusssaeure in post #15--and acknowledged by you in the following reply--this is a thread only taking submissions for games occurring after the 5.2.2 patch dropped, meaning games that took place after 13 June 2017 (Rule 1). The records will not be added.
  4. Gaa'ra, please do me a solid and put all those matches in separate Imgur albums. There's like eight individual games in there. Multi-shot Imgur albums are fine, but if you're going to make an album, make one per game. If I'm going to link to an album in the books or in the posts, I need it to lead to the game in question, and only the game in question. Also a couple of your medals submissions didn't make it; one was in a TDM (again, I don't accept subs for TDM medals, they're too easy), and one was in a Dom, but didn't meet the 16 medal minimum (Rule 7a).
  5. After much waiting, I've rolled out the first major update to the records. Up top, you'll find the old-style posted records present in their freshened up form, along with access to the new Main GSF Record Books, split by game mode, in post #2. Any future updates to the thread will be to both of these record-keeping sources in parallel. As stated earlier, the main books have all available--and qualifying--records, split up by overall game mode, then ship class, then ship type. For the old forum posts, they are as they were in the past: 1 individual per category, for a top 5 per category (allowing for ties). Let me know how everything looks. If you see a mistake, feel free to scream at me, either here or on Discord (@plasticx). Also let me know if you still derive use from the old forum post-style entries. If not, I can ditch those and focus on just the spreadsheets. Regarding the current records: if the books, for as vast as they are, look a little empty, well...they are. Of the 327 unique categories (I may have miscounted, sue me) available, roughly 250 lack even 1 submission. This is what we have so far. Over the first month of this thread's existence, I had a little over 100 records sent my way. Compare that to the rolling out of the original 2.8 thread three years ago, during which almost 420 records were sent in the first 30 days. Interpret that as you like. After discussion with several people looking to post, I feel it's necessary to point out that this is a new record book. The old records are just that: old. If you feel that a game shouldn't be submitted due to its not holding up to the records of the 2.8 thread, ask yourself one question: is this the 2.8 thread? You know the answer to that. If your hangup is, "this doesn't hold up to my personal standards," well...you can submit it anyway, and break it later. Your choice. Shifting gears, I've made a slight adjustment to the submission syntax, which you'll no doubt see in the posts and the books: earlier, I had you submitting records on alts as writing your alt out first, then putting your main name in parentheses. I've reversed that: you'll now be entering your Main Name first, followed by your Alt in parentheses. The OP has been amended to reflect this. One thing I noticed in putting the books together over the past few weeks was how cluttered it looked in the names column when alt names went first. It also looked a bit disingenuous--if you went by just what was outside the parentheses, it looked like the individual record categories were populated by more individual pilots than actually were there. This fixes that. As for future updates, now that the main books are out, updates can roll out as posts come in. That's all I have for you now. Carry on.
  6. Couple things here. First off, the record you're submitting for (i.e. 18 medals) and the link to the proof needs to be one hyperlink. So it should look something like this: Skyesora-srw (Skyesora) - Flashfire (Unverified) - <Shadowlands Reconnaissance Wing> - Jedi Covenant - 18 medals This way, the record can simply be clicked to lead to the Imgur album. As an aside (bolding cos it's meant for everybody), multi-image links like Imgur or Photobucket or Dropbox albums are perfectly acceptable in submissions when you want to provide full match info, but don't want to clog up the post with multiple links for one record. Just make sure the album contains only the images related to the record in question--I'm not interested in sifting through pictures of your dogs or your trip to Cabo San Lucas just so I can see your DPS record, or whatever. Secondly, I've marked your Flashfire as unverified cos there's nothing in the two screenshots provided that proves that you were in a Flashfire the entirety of the match (or at least the entirety of the time you earned those 18 unique medals). Refer to Rule 5.2 to see why: you showed the Overall Performance tab, and not, say, the ship requisition message from the event log in chat (Rule 5.1). For medals specifically, the requisition window is the best way to show start-to-finish play in a single ship (cos you gain req by simply having game time pass when in a ship, regardless of points/damage/etc.). You can also show it in the ship-specific Earnings tab--if total req from that window matches total req at the top of the scoresheet, then you're golden. I've added this in to clarify--Rule 5.3 and 7a. For what it's worth, I can reasonably say with confidence that you were in a Flashfire the whole game--I just can't prove it. That's the issue. If you have anything else from that match that might show clearly that your Flashfire req equalled total match req, I'll be happy to reconsider. The record's still good, it'll just qualify for the Overall Domination books, not anything Ship Class- or Ship Type-related. Alright, same thing here as with Skye's post. Links to screenshots and the records themselves need to be a single unit, so... Gaa'ra - GSS-3 Mangler - Eclipse Squadron - The Ebon Hawk 7 Solo Kills Proof ...needs to be: Gaa'ra - GSS-3 Mangler - Eclipse Squadron - The Ebon Hawk - 7 Solo Kills No need to add in a second link after the record line itself that says "Proof". Just make the record section of the line a link. This was a TDM. Medals are only tracked for Domination. Max TDM medal count is 12, which isn't supremely difficult to reach (just fly a drone bomber in an offensive manner). Yeah, this one's a no-go cos there are no shot totals I can look at. Sorry. That 98.83 DPS isn't yours, it's Rorge's. You're hovering over Rorge's DPS in this shot, not yours. Since you did more damage, I would actually expect your DPS to have been higher in this game (104.57, assuming equal flight time), but in the absence of an actual showing of your DPS from the scoresheet--or a Ship Performance tab showing game time so I can calculate it--I can't just assume you did 104.57 DPS. I need to see it.
  7. To preempt the asking of certain questions that may be on your minds: I've eliminated the category of objective points. I will not be accepting submissions for those. I've replaced it with shooting percentage. Consider it a "tick less, shoot more" approach. The top 20/25 style Sheet will debut once I get enough submissions. For now, I'm giving it a while for you lot to submit your records. Happy hunting. If you have questions or issues, feel free to ask here or on the Discord.

  10. Galactic Starfighter Records (5.2.2+) v1.0 (Last Updated: 06/16/17) Greetings. I'm plasticx, and I'm your new GSF recordkeeper. I was a GSF pilot and streamer from 2014 to 2016, and am currently a technical assistant with Despon's "GSF School" YouTube channel, as well as moderator of the GSF Community Discord Server. I'll be handling single-game record submissions starting from patch 5.2.2 (released 13 June 2017) on out. This new version of the single-game GSF Records thread has undergone some changes, so before submitting a record, I highly suggest (i.e. require) you read this OP in its entirety, taking special note of the "Rules & Changes" section. For previous single-game record threads, head here: Galactic Starfighter Records (2.8+) v3.0 (by Despon) Galactic Starfighter Records (2.8+) v2.0 (by Xi’ao) Galactic Starfighter Records (2.8+) v1.0 (by Camels) Galactic Starfighter Records (2.7+) (by Camels) The original Starfighter Records (by paowee) For the currently running overall stats (100 game, 1000 game, etc.) thread, check here: Galactic Starfighter Stats Records (by Drakolich) Introduction: Now, for the changes to the thread itself.... For this new version of the records thread, we'll be running things a bit differently. In addition to the normal "Top 5" spoiler-boxed entries you'll find here on the thread, we'll have an open Google Sheet running with a larger entry set, and more record categories. Initially, as records are submitted, they will be added to both the thread and the Sheet. For the forum entries, things remain mostly as they were: one entry per person per category. If you have a record that bests an old record of yours, the older entry gets booted off the forums, replaced with the newer entry. For the Google Sheet, however, both records can stay. Depending on frequency of entries, we’ll try to shoot for a top 20 or 25 per record. Rules & Changes: Format: For cases of records on alts, put your main name first, followed by your alt name in parentheses. <Main Character (Alt Name)> - <Ship Name*> - <Guild Name*> - <Server Name> - <Record you want entered with screenshot/video link**> *=if applicable **=if a multi-game video link, please provide a rough timestamp of the scoreboard appearance Example: Mahoney - SGS-45 Quarrel - Invictus - T3-M4 - 175,312 damage Do NOT include multiple records on the same line. Example of what NOT to do: Mahoney - SGS-45 Quarrel - Invictus - T3-M4 - 175,312 damage, 15 Solo Kills Correct example: Mahoney - SGS-45 Quarrel - Invictus - T3-M4 - 175,312 damage Mahoney - SGS-45 Quarrel - Invictus - T3-M4 - 15 Solo Kills _______________________ Currently curated by plasticx
  11. No, you're good. 8v8 Impside wargame on the Hawk, Kuat TDM. February or so, right before I left. We're both solo queueing; you get the pop, I don't. Someone on your team leaves the match, and matchmaker sends me a backfill pop, I take it, and it puts me on the team that already had 8. So it goes from 8v8, to 7v8, to 7v9. I also stole a south DO from you. And you said you hate me. I remember. I remember. For what it's worth, I've encountered this bug/quirk/whatever thrice--the Hawk incident I've just recounted, once on the Bastion in a cross-faction Kuat Dom (that time my team ended up with the 7), and once recently on the Harbinger to Drako and I (Shipyards Dom I think), though I'm quite sure that it was just long enough ago that it's in neither of our stream archives. I might actually be bored enough to go fishing for screenshots. Stay tuned.
  12. Just to clear up the issue--and this is a minor nitpick--but photon torpedoes can have a 15km blast radius, making it difficult for warships to fire them at close engagement ranges. The effective firing range of a photon torpedo can be around 300,000km, exhibited during an incident involving the USS Phoenix and the Enterprise-D (Nebula and Galaxy-class vessels, respectively) along the Cardassian border in 2367 (TNG S04E12, "The Wounded").
  13. For anyone wondering about how this came to be, I have made a highlight of the game in question. Evasion & Hit Percentage (link) This is also not a shameless plug for my stream. Like, at all.
