  1. You do realize that vanilla wow didn't hand out purples like candy, right? Other than some BoP patterns, the only epic gear was world drops and raid drops. And MC was infintely more difficult than EV. Even taking the player number out of the equation, how is clicking a box x number of times before an enrage timer hits harder than laying constant fear breaks on a tank, cleansing a raidwide curse bomb before those effected ran out of resources, banish chaining, living bombs, constant arcane explosions, having to constantly interrupt adds that will full heal if the cast gets through, and all the mess that is the Rag fight, with aoe explosions, adds, knockbacks, and environment damage that actually meant something, all with resources being limited so one healer couldn't just spam his biggest heal all fight without worry, causing people to have to have healer rotations where people would heal to 50, 40, 30, and 20% before resting to regain mana?
  2. Why do people keep accusing anyone who has hit 50 as "rushing" or "lol spacebar"? It's been 2 months. If you haven't hit 50 by now you either have two brain cells with a 50% firing rate or have a serious alt problem. Skipping two planets (most of alderaan and all of tatooine) and full clearing all else (including bonus missions), it took me 5 days played. That's 2 hours a day on average if you've been playing since release. And population is a problem. 150 people on the fleet max is a problem, no matter how you slice it. Sure pvp queues are short because you can't do anything else. Hmm...I can either spam lfg for 2 hours or you know... Hit a button and be able to play the game right now.
  3. Why do people always mention that not only did they unsub, but also uninstalled? CURSE YOU BIOWARE YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY. YOU WILL NOT CLAIM THOSE 25 GB!
  4. I'm not sure how this is an argument. If you're on a dead server in swtor, you have no other option than to reroll on another server. With no lfg/any sort of functional group finder (the current one is abysmal). On Darth bandon this weekend the most I saw were 140 people on the imperial fleet at once. While leveling my marauder, I've done 3 heroic quests while requesting to do them the instant I land til the moment I leave because there are 20 people on each planet. In the other game, if I dont have enough guildies on, or in an empty zone, I click a single button and that 100 people becomes 1000 from cross server from potential people to play with. So sure, both games seem equally empty, but at least in the other game I can rectify that with a single button rather than having to server hop forever. /inb4 go back to pandas hurrdurrderpyderpderp
  5. If this thread is up near the front page when I get home I'll link to the original post (I bookmarked it for some reason or another). It's also the same dev post that said that the removed the ability to remove the armorings from tier/pvp gear so that oranges didn't become overpowered by farming the first bosses in Ops (cause clearly that would be the quickest way to get full epic gear rather than doing the entire thing seeing EV is so facerollingly simple) Flash forward two months and they're allowing it again to make crafting "better". I bet that the color matching, whenever it's finally implemented, is going to be the exact same thing it was in beta too. The cynic in me thinks that the removed that stuff in beta just so they could release it as a patch to get all the sheep to keep their subs. Hey look, they made crafting not suck! Bioware/EA listened!
  6. As a healer that has the raid/party frames covered by the companion screen, there is no greater frustration. How did I die from HK-47 (his stealth HM thing). Because Khem wanted to tell me he failed his mission, that's why.
  7. Except when Ghaj wipes cause us to be ghost killed repeatedly. That would really suck stim wise, now that I think about it. Alright everyone, pop your stims we're going to try this again. *everyone dies randomly one at a time* Well, there goes a lot of money down the drain... But on topic, I just think it's silly that they are reverting back to what it was in beta that they felt was a broken system as a means of "improving" it. I'll be glad to get out of the SI tier set, with its shoulderpads of god awfulness, but why we couldn't have just stayed with this system from the start boggles the mind. Or you know, they could just do an APPEARANCE TAB, and not have to worry about orange gear becoming broken and overpowered compared to raid drops.
  8. Which pretty must shows that the devs have absolutely no clue what they are doing. They specifically removed the ability to remove the armorings because they felt it was broken. Three months later and it's the almighty fix to make crafting useful again! The fact that it won't come out until March to implement something they've already done before and removed previously is astounding.
  9. Wait wait wait wait wait... So what he's saying is that prior to release, crafting was broken because no one wore the raid gear and just could loot the armoring mods off boots/gloves/whateverdropsoffthefirstboss, and so they made it so that the armoring mod was unable to be removed at lauch. Their solution to crafting becoming a heaping pile of garbage (with some exceptions) is that they are making the armoring mods removable again... Freaking genius. They're just doing a rollback of the change they made in beta and are going, HA, IMPROVEMENT! Moar money please. /inb4 go back to pandas
  10. Opposite. I'm starting to go light on my Dark 3 char because the dark choices are just boring me. Maybe I'll end up neutral, but full dark, i mean full a-hole, is just not interesting to me.
  11. If you want to level your social fast, find a quest with a long dialogue (4-5 options) to choose from. Get 4 people. Grab quest, spam top choice. Accept quest. Abandon quest. Repeat. MOST SOCIAL EXPERIENCE EVAR
  12. I more or less meant any three spanning both instances. Kill the first two in EV, kill the first in kaggath, or any other combination. Making the weekly based on a single boss kill is just silly.
  13. For the weekly operations quest, why are only two bosses considered "significant progress" Yesterday I beat the last three bosses of EV, and have no chance of getting the weekly bonus because apparently downing SOA isn't "progress". Why not change the operation quest to defeating any three bosses?
  14. You might want to look up the definition of essential. es·sen·tial/iˈsenSHəl/Adjective: Absolutely necessary; extremely important. You're the one moving the goalposts. OP and others say mouseover macros are extemely important to their playstyle, fun, enjoyment, and their continued subscription to the game. It's a subjective term. Just because you find it unnecessary is irrelevant. Some people find crafting to be non-essential. Does that mean Bioware shouldn't fix all the glaring issues regarding it? Some people find UI customization non-essential. Does that mean we should have continue to have pvp maps and chat boxes overlay over our cast bars? Some people find end game content non-essential. Does that mean Bioware should wait before creating any more end game content? I find combat logs non-essential. Guess that next patch that's supposingly adding them should wait a bit, by your logic. And when everyones quit because Bioware waited to long to implement what players find essential to their gaming experience. You'll lose the most essential things of all. The community, the player base, and the game.
  15. Yes there is, to each and every point. Finding the quest givers on your own (ala original WoW and earlier MMOs), is clearly an alternative to the giant glowing markers telling you where they are. Health bar displays. The health is displayed if you scroll over the hp pool of your current target. Cast bars showing, animations clearly allow you to judge your interrupts, and there are also alert displays for the important ones currently. The skills one, you could have less skills or more, doesn't really matter. Raid frames, your raid is there, click on them to see their health/communication/target of target/paying attention to the fight. Markers, once again, communication. There are plenty of non-essential things in the game. Complaining at some people wanting others that have been implemented in nearly every other current and new game is pointless. If we stripped the game down to the bare essentials we'd still be playing MUDs/D&D. This is 2011, games have evolved, and Bioware has taken one giant step back to the 90s with their current setup. Players want to play up-to-date and current games, with at least most of the shiny bells and whistles that have been given to them in their other game experience. If Bioware wants to leech players from other MMOs and not bleed them off, not allowing any of the favored features in all the other games, or even attempting to implement them, is just foolhardy. Then again, with the shenanigans of 1.1, I guess we should never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. Mouseover targeting (or even fully functioning targeting in general) is essential for some people to fully enjoy this game and continue with it. If you disagree, that's fine, that's your call. But to say other's are wrong because you don't find it important is just ridiculous, as Bioware could strip away everything I mentioned above and I'd still be able to play the game, and I'm sure you'll find that you want some of those features back.
