  1. You dont need an army to conquer a planet just a good 12 man squad anyway I see where you are coming from and yes the system is that great numbers and more resources gets you the win which makes sense but the guilds who come in the top 10 are usually within the same realm and there is just one guild that just smashes the crap out of the rest with scores that no other guild can beat. Yes I have seen them be beaten maybe once or twice, but It would be nice to see some other guilds win for once I dont know how they can balance it fairly maybe its meant to be unfair I dont know. I guess im tired of seeing second and third place with close scores and first place nearly 4x higher scores.
  2. I think this thread is quite valid I am on Jedi covenant and the same kinda thing happens a select few guilds dominate the scene and leave little for the rest which is a shame it makes smaller guilds feel like they cant make a difference. I think OP solutions are quite acceptable im sure BW can experiment a bit with different formula's to see what works best. The question of if you cant beat them join them is a bit meh to be honest for me those kinda of guilds you become a number - rank and file, its not the kind of guild experience I personally look for. Though I enjoy conquest I see smaller guild really try and win coming in the top 10 just about every week and conquest does take some time and effort to compete in. It would feel like you are wasting all that effort for nothing because the change of winning are slim to none, sure you get the standard rewards and they do help the guild but the point of conquest is to win. Also your theory that all great dynasties crumble is accurate, great dynasties last along time though and swtor has been going for what 6 ish years? (I know conquest is relatively new feature though) that is still a long time to wait for a small fry guild to finally win a conquest lol. So I am for upping the underdog guilds!
  3. You can also point a finger at BW for not having the requirements set for ranked PVP and NiM raids, players should not be able to join such raids or que for ranked pvp if they do not fit the gear requirement, valor, have an active stim blah blah. People flame the **** outta players for just joining and trying content, though yes they are in the wrong place it is unlikely you will see it happen again (with the same player), its a lot easier to kindly explain why they shouldn't be there and give them some motivation to reach that level. High level players need to set a good example for new players and fresh 70's etc and in this case slightly ignorant players? It seems that OP did know what they were getting into but did it anyway but was met with some serious heat which is not acceptable, those players most likely suffered 1 loss and the world was over for them. As OP said this is just a game and we don't want to make the community worse the best thing to do it ignore the toxic people and move on, yes they are present will they go away no. I like to believe that the swtor community is nice which it is majority of the time but in reality in the higher level content you will find the more toxic players that have no tolerance for mistakes and ignorance. This is because most higher level players expect that every other high level player is within the same realm and knowledge base as them which is not the case. I have in the past flamed the **** out of 'noobs' im sure most people have but looking back now that did not help that player in the slightest I probably just ruined their day. Turned this into a bit of rant, not trying to be a white knight or whatever, just saying what ive seen in the game and how to deal with it in more pleasant manner
  4. And people complain when players get mad about this kinda stuff, really grinds my gears. I know people have lives outside SWTOR and maybe they are just not great at the game, fine that's all good but why que if you don't join then continually die lol....just do some solo PVE content and get better or stay for the FP and ask for tips and make it look like you trying. I like to consider myself a nice person but there are some people on swtor that push me to limit smh
  5. As Merovejec said since the group finder system has changed to take any lvl (15+) any class and any role and make a 4 man group some of the flashpoints can be very hard. You will find the older flashpoints will be a lot easier and can be done with 4 dps classes with little to no problems, however the problems is with the newer flashpoints such as blood hunt, depths of manaan etc. I would suggest doing a toggle search on group finder and removing the newer flashpoints from the list and queuing for the older ones you will find them much easier to complete. Hope this helps
  6. If worst comes to worst you can always just go to your respective fleet and type 'LF (looking for) Guild' in general chat and you will get a few instant invites and if you dont like the guild just type /gquit in chat
  7. I think you are missing the point, you keep hating on guard and tanks and how unfair they currently are and your solution is to outright remove tanks from PVP or remove guard. It is the job of the tank to take damage for the team, like you said people do not target tanks because it is highly ineffective. So guard helps tanks be useful. You cannot remove an entire class from pvp in swtor it would cause too many problems, but I do agree with the fact that dps classes still get guard which can be removed imo. The fact that PVP is out of control at the moment is because tanks and heals are running wild with soaking up damage and healing every bit of damage, the real solution to this is there is no proper matchmaking. If a team had one/two tanks each and one/two healers each and some dps it would be a skilled base match, the match would be determined by the players who can outplay their opponents. From there BW can then look at classes properly and decide what class has OP features in a even match.
  8. I think Arcann would be a good romance option as would Vaylin (though I dont know how they would incorporate it) both very dark characters, twisted romances are complex can be interesting and more fun. Not a big fan of boot licker Quinn, dont know why you want to romance him haha though as warrior companions go they dont have very good male romance options imo (some of the best females though).
  9. Though a minor and maybe a not so important change, I can see the practicality behind it. Personally I always keep my inventory clean but I see people with super messy and cluttered inventories and a simple key-bind would be a nice option for those people! plus if you make a mistake you always have the 'buy back' tab on vendors.
  10. I agree a tank is solely not THAT capable they need a healer to be truly effective. Sure they negate a lot of damage, but without heals they will lose to a dps heavy team with heals.
  11. Bioware is fighting a losing battle, I feel like they are at the point if they dont get it right by the end of this year SWTOR will eventually die in the next few years. I know subscription is not expensive I am totally willing to subscribe I am just having a hard time trying to find the motivation to enjoy the game like I used to. I still love the game and I dont want it to die (Ive invested a lot in this game) but really its not been looking to great over the last couple of months its hit a stagnation phase for sure. Getting back more to the original topic though XD romance in Bioware games is fundamental the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series had great romances so did SWTOR vanilla but hopefully the roadmap for 2017 sheds some light on the whole romance and companion section of the game!
  12. I know that pretty much makes all tokens legacy wide apart from the light and dark ones but lets be real character tokens for Iokath is stupid as some of the dailies cost credits and shards (tokens) to start and complete...cmon Bioware I would rather do Blackhole than Iokath dailies. As for the Fleet tokens how many people actually to the space mission now days and the cost of the grade 7 ship equipment cost is so high and the missions are such a grind and if you have lots of toons then gearing ships is just...no thanks. I just want to be able to do grade 7 space missions so I can get my Fleet reputation up, is that too much to ask The last one is bit irrelevant as I believe the roadmap for 2017 mentioned that PVP tokens will be made legacy wide which will be welcome change! Bioware take into account we have LOTS (24) of toons and the whole rinse and repeat process can get old real quick.
  13. You are totally right, I think Bioware is trying too hard to win back the subscribers and pumping out the wrong kind of content, its great they are still making new content for the game alas not the sort that majority of people are looking for. I know that they have a lot less resources to work with now, but I would be more encouraged to subscribe if they took the extra time to polish their content and add more depth into the story content. I thought the Iokath daily area was a huge let down its almost as dead a blackhole XD and I would rather do blackhole dailies (the Iokath ones have stupid credit and shard prices for some dailies). The new expansions were meant to go back to the roots of the game which was story telling, the best thing that has come from the new content is the raid hahaha the story was fine just lacked that extra polish that most people were looking for.
  14. Mhmm maybe I have overlooked or missed that option, its been a while since ive have played that storyline . Thanks for the clarification though!
  15. A great start is the 230 gear (tier 1 gear vendor, supplies section on each fleet) as it just requires command tokens now (from command crates) it is relatively cheap for a full set and tokens are legacy wide.
