  1. There's a ton of crit/surge on the level 50 gear. I'm sitting at 40% crit atm and trying to get more power/alacrity.
  2. In the under 50 bracket that might be true. But in the 50 bracket a pug which happens to get a lot of decent players can take out a premade even if they are coordinating in vent. At 50 you kind of know who does what on your server so you know who to throw the ball to, who's going to heal you, etc. A PuG full of bads is a different story.
  3. I've had it happen to me with an AoE knockdown. It never wore off. After about 2-3 minutes I was finally killed. I was unable to move even after being killed and eventually kicked from the WZ about 20 seconds before we would have won. Very Frustrating. Same thing happened to another guy on my team yesterday. I've only had it happen to me since the last patch.
  4. For those of you saying you don't need a reward, it's a video game... What do you think video games do? They reward you for effort - that's why people play. You get the next piece of gear, or get to move on to the next boss, or the next level. It's not at all unreasonable for people who've invested time and effort into the game to crave a reward. It's also human nature to be let down when the rules change. It's like if you just graduated college and worked really hard and they decided to cut the graduation requirements down to 1/4 of what they are the next day. How would you feel if you worked hard for four years to get a degree and the people coming behind you only have to go for one year at 1/4 the cost for the same degree? You'd feel jipped and you're lying if you say otherwise.
  5. Why not just make world pvp happen? In previous mmo's world pvp was just a bunch of people getting together to take over something or harrass something. Go take over the opposite faction's spaceport on a planet.
  6. I think having a TDM option would be fun. It would add variety. There could be some variation on the no-respawn thing too. Like increasing respawn timers for each death instead of no-respawn. I think that would make you play as a team more because it would punish the guy that just runs off by himself and dies. I can see this putting pressure on healers too which would be fun. There would be even more incentive to focus fire the healer. Imagine if everytime you killed the opposing team's healer they had to sit behind the wall even longer - that's a pretty good reward for your teamwork. Plus tanks would have more motivation to guard us healers which would also increase teamwork. I dunno - I think it could be pretty fun.
  7. I agree that rated play is the best answer. In the meantime though I hope the 4 medal and quit attitude is rare. Remains to be seen.
  8. I'm glad they put them in there for people who still want them for themselves or companions. I hit level 50 and valor level 50 at the same time. I hit BM with lots of Centurion gear. I use the champ tokens right now for myself, my companions (who are good for world pvp and dailies), and for my off spec. I don't see any harm in giving them. It's not like they take up bag space.
  9. That's not true. It's hard but definitely not impossible. Especially if you hop the pit to get back if you die. There's a speed boost on the other side for that exact reason.
  10. Unless your team is unusually healer heavy, a healer guarding a turret is usually a bad idea. You want a healer, you know, healing where the action is. If I run to cap left and everyone takes off I stay. I usually post in /ops "hey can a dps switch out with me so I can heal." If someone comes great. If no one wants to come I'm not going to abandon my post. So while I'm standing there with my 2 defender medals I'll give myself the 5k crit/2.5k crit. I've never had a stealthie kill me if he catches me doing it. And what else am I supposed to do while guarding? Guarding is boring. Hell sometimes I do it just to see how big a crit I can get off just so I don't go out of my mind with boredom. Also if you are up against any other healer for top heals that game it's impossible to get top heals using noble sacrifice. It's too damn slow. There's no way I can get 300k healing with noble sacrifice.
  11. Using the environment to LOS is always a good skill. (LOS = Line of Sight.) If you are hiding behind something the MoB has to adjust to you. It's a good way to pull ranged away from a CC'd character for example.
  12. It will be interesting to see if it keeps happening and if it's only on a few servers or widespread.
  13. I don't know what to tell you. Left and Right are used universally in Civil War on my server and I've never seen anyone get confused. Voidstar is a different story.
  14. I wasn't referring to letting a vastly superior team just win and get it overwith. One game today was Civil War. We had two turrets and lost one but definitely could have gotten it back. A few of us were fighting for it when someone said in /ops that he had his 4 medals so it didn't matter if we won. Others agreed and decided to let them three cap. Hey if this is localized to my server then it's not a problem. But after seeing similar behavior in other WZs I thought it might be a trend that will make PvP less fun all around. I hope your servers don't become infected with it and I hope it was a fluke on mine. But I'm wondering if it will turn into a trend.
