Because BioWare has put same sex romances in every game they've released with a romance option since Dragon Age and, this may come as a shock to some people, but sometimes gay people like to role play as gay characters in role playing games. And, really, BioWare has no one to blame but themselves. Before Dragon Age I was totally fine with hetero romances but once they started putting in gay ones I was hooked. I can never go back. So, yeah, that's pretty much why.

I'm gay and I wouldn't be the least bit offended by a toggle. It didn't bother at first but honestly I'm getting a bit sick of my Sith Warrior having a flirt option with what seems like every other female character he talks to and I'd kinda like to turn that off. So I get how people would feel if their male character had a flirt option with other male characters. I don't really see "bigotry" or "discrimination" in allowing people to turn off something they don't want. As stupid as it is, gayness still makes people uncomfortable and if being fair is the goal here you can't say that someone's discomfort with the option to make a character gay is any less than my annoyance with having heterosexuality shoved at me constantly. At least that's what I think.

Nothing new to really add, just wanna go on record saying I hope they at least give us an update on this soon. I don't mind waiting, my SW and Quinn are carrying on a pretty good romance in my head and it's tiding me over, but waiting without having any idea how long until they add this, or even if they will, gets frustrating. And it's BioWare's own damn fault too that I'm so eager. I was perfectly fine settling for the normal, opposite gender romances until Dragon Age. After that I was totally ruined. I needs my same sex romance dammit! lol.
