New Combat Styles/New Classes ...in the Future
CommanderOtto replied to Nebdar's topic in General Discussion
I want to see a new combat style that allows me to use the Electrostaff... I want to use the Gaffi Stick, the Beskar Spear and other similar tools without using the force. It would fit with my scoundrel or merc -
SWTOR PTS Downloads more than 100GB in Hard Drive

BUMP because this is super important. It makes me waste a lot of time. Further it comes with a risk of damaging my laptop... when it uses ALL the space available, it starts to interfere with the functionality of the OS. -
SWTOR PTS Downloads more than 100GB in Hard Drive

Hi PTS team, now that this update is live, I am facing the issue again. I will try to use steam instead, but I would appreciate a note from the devs that this is being looked into. -
SWTOR PTS Downloads more than 100GB in Hard Drive
CommanderOtto posted a topic in Public Test Server
Hi PTS team, I have a problem with the download. I started downloading the PTS, but for some reason it downloaded more than 100GB of data in the Bioware folder. I noticed just in time to avoid catastrophe with my laptop, because it used all the remaining space in my hard drive. I had to uninstall SWTOR and I am currently installing it again from scratch. I thought the most this game needed was 38GB (more or less)? This also happened to me previously when we upgraded the game to 7.2, but it happened with the production version of the game, not the PTS. I resolved it by uninstalling and installing again. I mentioned this in the forums back then, but with this, I can confirm the bug is NOT fixed. https://forums.swtor.com/topic/926377-either-72-is-a-really-big-update-or/ -
I also want to thank the developers for such a great story. Not only that, but the planet is well designed, and rich in detail. What a great addition to the game.

I have installed the game again, and this time it downloaded without problems (about 49GB as noted by the Properties tab of the filesystem, for the folder Bioware).

I am using the regular Launcher. I was playing fine yesterday and my laptop was fine as well. Specs: OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date Alienware 1.18.3, 9/27/2022 SMBIOS Version 3.2 Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB Hard drive 500 GB (116 GB FREE)

This is an actual problem. I thought I was attacked by a virus, but it was actually the 7.2 update, which downloaded more than 100gb. Thankfully I stopped it before it downloaded further. I had to uninstall SWTOR and that cleared my C drive.

Pile Driver or some other hack = game imbalance
CommanderOtto replied to CommanderOtto's topic in Galactic Starfighter
I pay a lot of attention to the feedback, and I think that's not it. I know of a couple of folks that take this to such a level, that it almost feels like a one shot. I just don't get it. I even doubt that those defending pile driver actually use it the way it is being used by some people. One thing is to pile drive and hit a few times, quite another is to melt people in one shot or 2 shots (or at least that's what it looks like). -
I dis the fight yesterday and i agree with this assessment. It’s wayyy too hard for SM, we wiped and wiped. Feels like HM level. But mechanics are really fun

Pile Driver or some other hack = game imbalance
CommanderOtto replied to CommanderOtto's topic in Galactic Starfighter
I wanted to kindly ask the devs to please look at this. It's really changed the game, and I only see the same people winning every match with this exploit. It is cheap, unskillful, and there aren't any defenses against it. It also completely invalidates other weapon options like Ion cannon.... why bother when you can just exploit doubleshotting people. See a working example here. Nothing needs to happen. But if devs acknowledge that it will be reviewed, that is a start. -
Pile Driver or some other hack = game imbalance
CommanderOtto replied to CommanderOtto's topic in Galactic Starfighter
that's the problem, what you are saying is not situational.... it is ALL the time. I literally use pile driver for every kill, and I shred people with it. It just takes a couple of seconds. It also takes away the fun in the longer dogfights I used to have... running way or chasing someone. -

Pile Driver or some other hack = game imbalance
CommanderOtto posted a topic in Galactic Starfighter
we have a big problem in GSF, where a handful of players have mastered the Pile Driver maneuver so well, it basically becomes a one-shot mechanism. This causes a massive imbalance in the game, where these same players just play the game all day, and farm the frags and commendations. Most importantly, it is very frustrating, I can't defend my ship against these shots. My only defense is to copy the strategy... Please, FIX THIS. I am baffled that even though I have played this game for years, my experience is trumped by a broken game mechanic. -
It happens all the time and it is really annoying. I can't hear enemy ships hitting me.
