  1. And also give the previous people who invested in the game their CP too. Founder here, subbed for all but 2 months...but to get the CP I have to sub? That's like waking up on Christmas morning but then finding out I can't open my gifts without paying $15 first. What is that?
  2. No, DCUO lets you enjoy all the features of the game. Yes some 4 mans and stuff are only for people who pay...but playing a 4 man is completely free. Yeah you have to pay for some classes...the classes they released in the DLCs. DCUO is pretty much the basic game that was released is free...the if you want to add to it you have to get the DLC. I think that model would be fantastic for this game plus selling the cosmetics and perks as well.
  3. DCUO does not stop you from enjoying MMO features. It gives players access to the entire game PLUS also letting them enjoy the basic 4mans and stuff that came with the game. Then they charge for the stuff they are releasing now, kind of like DLC packs.
  4. The sub model has worked for MMOs...up until this point. The only MMO it has worked for recently is WoW. Now F2P and other models that are not sub are the standard. I am suggesting that Free players should be able to you know play the MMO features without being restricted. SWTOR needs to understand that they are competing against games like LOL. It's not a MMO but time is time, if players aren't spending time in your game then they are spending time in another.
  5. Yep, that's a sham too. I was a pre-order, founder for this game. I subbed up until GW2 came out (exception of about 2 months I didn't have a computer) and now to get the time I pretty much paid for I have to sub again? Well thanks for the welcome back Bioware I guess. Also I think people need to realize that a lot of the MMO fans are MMO fans, this F2P model is not going to just bring in a big base of new players that have never ever played the game before. Especially since they had a free trial for most of the year, many people that have played the game have played it and given it a shot. Bioware needs to convince people to come back.
  6. This game as it is is more like a trial too isn't it? You are limited to MMO features and have to pay to experience them if you enjoy them.
  7. Compared to this game it is. You get more for your money. $60 you get the entire game for free and any additional content they add. You buy it once, everything in the game is yours. Go WVW, do your dungeons, do PVP and never once pay for anything and you will be more than fine. SWTOR you have to sub $15 a month to experience MMO features. If you sub for more than 4 months than you have already paid more than you would have of just buying GW2 once.
  8. You mean people are upset that a Free to Play model is not FREE? Who wants to full game for free? How about the option to PVP when I want to? Every other game gives the player this, why not SWTOR?
  9. Yep, in GW2 people are spending tons on cosmetics. Things like lockboxes mostly, but the lockboxes give out some cosmetics. The limited time skins for the halloween event likely made them tons. Peopler were spending 20+ on lockboxes trying to get limited time skins like the chainsaw greatsword. Not only that, grind in the game and trade your gold for gems and you can still buy anything from the store. It's a great model. I'm like you, i've spent less than $20 on their store but I can do everything and anything I want in the game. I like the F2P model because I'm not held to to play the game. If I want to play some other game for the next 4 days I can and not feel guilty about it.
  10. You guys keep thinking this. It's more about customers telling Bioware that there are other F2P games that are doing this better. New F2P games that will come out that will do this WAY better. If it wants to compete I feel it is going to have to change.
  11. Wrong link, I meant this... http://www.swtor.com/free/features
  12. If this is true then it's much better. I read http://www.swtor.com/buy there that it says full rewards from 3 FPs though. Guess i'll have to look into it more. FPs really should be free, at least some of them should. People want to play with each other, even if it's just running the same FP over and over again let them do that. They are investing time in the game and that will mean they will throw money at it. Gw2 has the best model. Pay once and get everything else and never have to pay again....yet people do. You see a bunch of people in cosmetic items because they invest so much time into the game why not?
  13. Exactly. It's not about entitlement, not about wanting stuff for free. It's about competition. A lot of other games have better models.
  14. What I read was for FPs that they are limiting rolls on loot to 3 bosses or something per week. I don't remember, I read it and logged off tbh. If it is true that FPs are completely free, that will be a lot better imo.
  15. No, Free players fund the game too. I think the current model is more discouraging though, you are basically paying for time. If the model is to only encourage subs then I don't see how it can work. Other F2P games are made so that free players can enjoy the game to their hearts content but that certain things will make the game better. This model actually just feels like "Sub for the game or suffer the consequences." The point I've been saying is...F2P is pretty much the standard now and other games do it better. It's not about Free players wanting everything for free, it's that there are alternatives and is this game going to draw those players from their other free games? Is it going to keep them for when other F2P games pop up? The F2P market is not some unlimited thing. There will not be a unlimited flow of players to go around just because it is free.
