  1. I think a lot of non-tanks don't appreciate the voracity this game throws stuns/knockbacks/counter-intuitive tactics that do nothing but diminish your fun at tanks. Fewer stuns/cc is not directly the issue - fewer targeted on the tanks would be better. The number of these effects don't have to be directly reduced, but spread them out so that RANGED dps and healers can enjoy what the tank/melee gets to experience them. Let's take a normal trooper, with a cryo grenade AND a cover pulse effect - you move into melee, you get to endure both while you play at range and just the one might affect you were it not for the tank having aggro. So what's wrong with the cyro grenade only targetting those 4m away? Make it an AoE stun on targets outside the 4m range so that all those ranged dps get punished for being too far away to interrupt! It's not exactly rocket science to program this as other games can prove, so why not consider re-directing the annoying attitude bioware freely allow their programmers (who clearly don't understand the disparity) to exude.
  2. Pick nothing, wait for Valentines day to be over, play 7.0 where it all changes and you might regret a choice now.
  3. Maybe Bioware should ask themselves a simple question 'Why gear?' They've stated 'we want operations players to farm better gear because they need it to perform better in harder operations' then while the logic doesn't immediately follow, it is congruent that 'nobody outside of operations needs to do any gearing whatsoever because the content stays the same.' Just give everybody access to as much 326 as they want, for credits if need be as a money sink, and have it so you don't bother to gear at all unless you're doing operations. Seems a bit stupid to give anybody 316 only to have them spend a month farming 326, then nothing for the 8 months it takes before any new content comes out and they boost the number. About time Bioware put some thought into it.
  4. Tacticals will still work in 7.0. The fact that Grit Teeth, a super powerful tactical, has been altered from enraged defense to saber ward, is evidence that Tacticals will work at level 80. Why would you alter a tactical if it stops working at level 76? You wouldn't, it's work done that didn't need to be. So save your existing tacticals for 7.0
  5. With 7.0 opening up players to many styles, I hope you are going to be considering how that will affect the group finder's behaviour in 7.0 1) Double healer/tank When a 75 queues tank/dps and a 32 queues solely as a tank it's a bit stupid to give the 75 the role of tank, making the levelling tank ultimately useless. It's one thing when it cannot be helped, but the algorithm that shapes the group needs to focus entirely on composition and NOT on level - it needs to prioritise 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps and if that CAN be met by the people, to formulate their roles accordingly. 2) Allow a player to choose their role for specific options. If you're queuing late at night you might queue healer/dps so you can dps in a veteran flashpoint but have a chance to get a master mode pop up as a healer. With 7.0 making it possible for a player to cover 3 roles with a single character, I think offering individual queuing choices for each option would be highly beneficial in allowing players to choose what they wish to do in any specific content. I understand it could take work, but the group finder itself is very poor when it assigns 3 tanks, 1 healer and 3 of those people queued as dual-roles (only happened once mind)
  6. Too many credits, not enough items. Pretty simple.
  7. This is the kind of post that is wrong. They advertised a new expansion, to which players reacted appropriately. To cancel it on the week before does count as false advertising and is the kind of reason you actually should demand a refund for, unlike artificial delays. An alternative might be to allow a delay on the sub for 2 months, so it can serve the obvious purpose, but you'd have to be such a silly person not to understand what false advertising is.
  8. Cancelling it today, and not yesterday, leaves me unable to politely comment on this. I just wasted 4 hours farming conquest on 10 characters for the 100k level and now it's worthless, utterly worthless.
  9. On my Smuggler I've had a bug for years that causes the re-ordering of the categories to be screwed up. When I'm crafting assembly components, the order in which they are displayed is terrible as a 700 crafter... so I have to hit Rating to get them in a sensible order. Now, the bug is that when I do this and hit Rating, the order is out of whack for the categories (not alphabetized) but when I hit it a second time, they become such (it'll switch between the random order and the alphabetical one by clicking rating again). This is only on my Smuggler, not on my vanguard I levelled a month ago, whom is also a 700 crafter but hasn't learned a lot of the categories because it's just a second crafter.
  10. You'd like them to destroy Hammer Station 3 days ago, since 7.0 is in 11 days?
  11. The way to think about this philosophy has been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years. An apt phrase, often attributed to Marie Antoinette, applies here in terms of ' Qu'ils mangent de la brioche ' or 'let them eat cake'. As someone who has been capable of getting the top gear for the last 20-25 years in an assortment of games, I do not agree with this ideology, and believe the current 306 system with skill being required, not gear, to accomplish tasks. I forsee a morlock and eloi situation, where-in by the third tier of this expansion players who return and have skill, but not the gear, will be forced to waste months before they can raid (unless their friends carry them of course, which is the same as a salerun) and probably wont return. So my biggest concern with this system, apart from the toxicity of seeing 'LF3M R-4 8SM, 330 or higher plz' for a raid dropping 328 gear or the drama of 'sorry ur noob ur gs is too low' being everywhere, is that people will not choose to return, causing a dwindling supply of players near the end of the expansion and make the game feel deserted. Still, maybe bioware know something has changed in the last 15 years that wont cause this to happen? 'Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it'
  12. The purpose of AoE dr is to put non-tanks closer to tanks in damage taken from raidwide sources. The tank has either 50% armor and a 50/50 shield currently, or 38% armor and a 70/50 shield (ignoring defence chance for the moment) while the dps have maybe 30% armor and 30% dr (I know it varies, up to lightning sorcs with more armor than sin tanks). If they simply reduce the damage from raidwide aoe they'll end up having to compensate by increasing spike damage of single target on tanks, which'd be a ****** thing to do. So giving AoE dr to all non-tanks is the solution you should champion, not the silly 'let's remove the aoe dr and see more tanks cope with ec nim kephess spike damage all the time!'
  13. You meant to say Augments, but said mods by mistake. As for the suggestion it sounds very much like Reforging equipment and how it worked when WoW added it to the game many, many years ago before being removed for being a terrible idea. Augments being extra power is a positive thing, because they are a good way for people to invest in after getting their gear.
  14. I accidently offered to give a tour, and OH GOD what kind of person designed this abomination! I have to go on a rubbish tour, where I am gain a debuff that wastes 30 seconds of my life, for a pointless conversation that could've been done in a skippable cutscene surely. If you begin this, you are FORCED to endure it to continue the story. Why is there not a 'I'm sorry, I didn't realise you are a boring waste of space and I need to cut this tour short so I can re-gain my sanity by not having to deal with you because someone thought it'd be neat-o to have an un-skippable pile of nonsense in the game. Again, please remove this OR offer a way to cut the tour short if you accidently select this.
  15. You're basing the response on.... FORUMS. Forums are not full of optimistic, happy, loving players. Those players are busy playing the game. The forums are full of disenfranchised players, those who feel sad or angry over perceived slights against themselves. Any company who judges the success of failure of something on forums is a front for money laundering.
