  1. I download between 4 - 5 MB/sec. On FiOS top tier net. If you have a router you know how to configure, either manually open ports or enable uPNP on your router. It also helps to reset (unplug and replug) your network equipment (routers, modems, switches) from time to time.
  2. Most of the SW lore comes from the published books... the 120+ of them, not just the movies. Before all of those books were allowed to be published, Lucas required the authors to let him read the books and sign off on them to make sure the lore and the stories were authentic.
  3. About the game freezing when you open UI elements. Spam your inventory key sometime and run... watch what happens. There have been a few threads about the UI lag around the forums. One of the more logical arguments is that when you call an 2D UI element, such as your inventory / character sheet, the game has to talk to the server first to find out what is in your inventory / on your toon (for the character sheet), while it does this, the game renderer literally has to stop rendering your UI elements until it finds out from the server what to actually render on your screen. This in turn, creates a lag spike... or a complete freeze if you spam your UI elements. It should also be noted: This happens on a wide array of systems, from low end to extreme high end and on some they have zero issues at all.
  4. Heh. That's like trying to explain how to get the unstoppable force to move the immovable object.
  5. Not enough planet side quests. Running them over and over gets boring quick. Also, the lack of being able to level in more than just one location. The addition of new planets for various level ranges would be a nice alternate choice instead of being forced to the same planets in the same order each time you level a toon up.
  6. That's just plain stupid. If there was a class that could full-fill all the primary roles of a class system, then what's the point of having separate classes at all? May as well have four races and one class that just does everything. Then everyone will be identical.
  7. No where has it ever taken me 30 minutes to go from planet A to planet B. But, see ya.
  8. Same! In all seriousness though, I do all the quests. Planet and story.
  9. Rofl. You also have to have a company willing to actually test their products.
  10. This wasn't the case for my first toon. On my first toon at 40 I had over 300k in credits. Credits are not an issue in this game. Once you get to 50, you average 200k a day if you do all the dalies on Ilum and Belsavis. So that means any alts you play are easily funded.
  11. That's the primary point of that thread that BW needs to take point to. It's utterly absurd what some people have to do to get this game running on the mediocre level.
  12. See this thread, which I mentioned above. Most of the people in that thread are having warzone issues. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=154568
  13. Read this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=154568 All about improving performance. Includes setting up a RAM drive to actually deleting game asset files to reduce lag. It's fairly ridiculous what some of these people have discovered and what people are doing to band-aid improve performance in this game. It's a great read that needs to attention of BW. One person even deleted the primary game asset file and went from 10fps to 50+ in warzones... downside is most of the game affects were missing (AoE spell affects, saber blades, world effects, mounts... etc). Pretty much hits the nail on the head about where the performance issues stem from.
