  1. You know what's cool. The Devs have already solved this problem by putting in the battle record. The harsh truth is that people that are complaining are not good at PVP. Its a simple fact. As you can see in the below screen shot if somehow your not winning more then loosing its all on you. You are the one common player in each pvp map you play. I only que solo and a 66% winrate with a class that is considered bottom tier is proof enough. Also some of those games I trolled in cause that's just a thing I do for fun. I'll say it again, the really top end PVP players have spent more time parsing, researching, learning than you have. I have probably more time parsing than most of the people on here have in actual PVP. Sometimes you just have to accept that your not playing correctly and change it or keep the same status quo. https://imgur.com/a/yXyV6Ac
  2. Going to disagree with this. The simple fact is Ranked 8 was way more complex then Ranked 4's. When I see ranked 4's players some times that are just as bad in 8s with no sense of what they should be doing. A lot of the Ranked 4 players would be squashed in 8v8 Ranked. The fights in ranked 8s were less prone to abuse of mechanics/class power level. They favored a more Strategic play style that was more about map control then anything else. Sadly 99% of players that's a lost art. Sure the top ranked 4's players will do dps, healing, etc, but they don't really understand why or how to push in 8s to gain map control. DPS pressure should be used to gain map control in 8s. A very lacking skill right now is the map control aspect. I have a 82% win rate right now queuing solo and never touch an objective because map control is something I understand very well.
  3. We all know the real reason that ranked was viewed as a toxic pool of players. It all comes down to population. Ranked had a system that only worked correctly if there were thousands of players playing at once. 4s and 8s had the same problems. There was not enough population to support the system as it was setup. Leading to various different ways to exploit the ranked system. Win Trading, Vote kick, Real Money Transactions, cheating, throwing, etc. It comes down to an overall percentage of the Ranked community that did these things causing the downfall of the entire system. For instance if 1 player out of 1,000 uses some exploit or unintended game mechanic, Its not that bad. But with the current population it more closely resembles 1 out of 50. The real issue ranked has always had is a declining population, That caused it to frankly not work as intended. Its not just a ranked issue its a game wide issue. We all can see the writing on the wall. SWTOR doesn't have much time left. Just enjoy it while its still around at this point.
  4. At the end of the day, The biggest problem that 7.0 going forward has had is still the same with all these changes. The changes are not geared toward players that have been around for years. Almost all the changes made after 7.0 has been in favor of trying to bring in a more casual audience like the FF14 crowd. This then gets compounded because SWTOR doesn't have the investment that the bigger games have. Bioware has chosen that they would rather bet on brining in new casual players that will spend a few dollars on the cartel market. Then on the players that have been playing for years. From a business perspective alone it's the right move in a vacuum. They only problem is those players never stay. They will give a quick revenue increase then be gone. I'm 100% sure this is the direction they are going in because they don't believe that there will be a mass exodus. Any one leaving will be more then replaced by the new money the casual crowd will bring in. They consider their core hooked on the game and will continue to spend cash regardless. I've given this some thought after what was announced. Most decisions are made from a business perspective not a consumer perspective. That's what's really going on.
  5. I would bet that did play a role. It might have even been the biggest reason why. With how old the game engine is. I wonder if they just couldn't do it (AKA the amount of resources invested to make something like this would be astronomical.)
  6. There is already a hidden MMR System. We are just asking for it to be public.
  7. Dear Bioware, If you listen to one thing the community has ever said for PvP. Then please; At this point we are begging for a Leaderboard for 8s and 4s que in 7.2 You can make all the other changes that you want, buff this, nerf that, Have the UI be in Neon Pink only. For once please listen to the pvp community on this one. No PvPer will be against having a leaderboard for both ques. It will take minimum Dev Time and once its done just leave it be. You don't even need to reset it or monitor it. Just let it be. We don't need rewards, titles, or fancy things. We promise to not get toxic over said leaderboards.
  8. I think it was just worded wrongly. I really don't think 8s are actually coming back. I would love that as long as 8s are matched against other 8s. In reality what would happen is a team of 8s will be matched against a solo que team. That sounds awful for both sides. I know some players that would come back though if 8s were back on the menu. I'm going to hope for the 0.000001% chance that its actually true and matchmaking works.
  9. Well I guess now the 4v4 crowd feels what its like to have your favorite game mode ripped away.(Ranked 8s) At least you guys can still que 4's. From the stream it sounded like you could que in a full 8 group again but I think that was just a slip up. Not getting my hopes up for that one.
  10. Well based on what we know from past pts this will be coming in 7.2. I guess their goal of positive play means just that. Anything that separates players and could potentially be toxic is being removed. Essentially every player is equal because there are no more measurements. I was pushing to make everyone on a level playing field with gear but this is taking that ideal to the extreme. Everyone is Equal because they are participating. Guess pvp really is getting gutted.
  11. I think the changes are actually going in a good direction. Everyone is over reacting a little bit. The only thing they need to do is have a leaderboard/ladder system for 4vs and 8s that can be opted into. If that was added no one would be complaining. Assuming matchmaking works correctly for groups. Adding a leaderboard for both ques fixes the issues and makes 7.2 pvp changes good actually. Just think about the current changes with a leaderboard system that resets every 90 days. It would bring way more people into pvp and Bioware really wouldn't have to manage it. What they want to get away from is the dev time put into ranked for such a small player base with rewards, titles, etc. It doesn't make financial sense for them to invest in it. If they just had a simple leaderboard that reset every so often it would be fine. That would take all of about 4 hours to make and never have to be touched again.
  12. Do you think you'll PvP more or less than you did before the update? More at first to see how the changes affect everything. Do the rewards on the reward track make you want to PvP specifically to earn them? Nope, PvP has never been about rewards to me. PvP is the sole reason I PvP Do you think you'll queue for 8v8 Warzones or 4v4 Arenas equally? No, 4v4's have always been boring. 8v8 is all I will que for Do you feel the new Warzone medals will encourage objective play? It will encourage the average player yes, but not myself as map control is really how you win in 8s. Is it clear how to earn PvP points and progress the Season reward track? Yes What is your overall impression of the changes to the PvP season system? I like the ideal, I don't like the rewards that are offered. None of them feel worth while. What do you like the most about the changes to the PvP season system? Rewards for 8s What do you like the least about the changes to the PvP season system? None of the rewards are something I would want. What is one change or adjustment you would like to make on the new PvP Season system, what would it be, and why? Some type of skill ranking system for 8's and 4's. It could be an optional opt in system, but PvP is mostly about flexing on others. Let those of us who want to compete in a ladder system do so. Do not limit it only to 4's getting a ladder/skill tier system. That is what killed pvp guilds. Many players prefer 8s to arenas and miss the competitive days of Ranked 8s,
  13. The biggest disappointment from the changes was the small part of me that thought just maybe we would see an actual revamp like new game mode que, pvp abilities or gear. 1v1 s Solo Ranked 8's 2v2's Something to spice things up. All we really got is a battle pass, new vendor and map. I guess from the PVP Revamp wording; I thought we were getting something different.
  14. Each season that I played SR there was toxicity and various cheats. Saying it didn't happen isn't really true. The last season I played in was season 10 got to top 3 after about 30 games then started running into people that would slash stuck, afk etc. I've never really enjoyed the 4v4 format to begin with then on top of that all the random shenanigans.. Quiet frankly it was boring compared to 8v8 ranked. Never played again after that. 8v8 had problems as well, but not nearly as much as SR 4's. Ranking wise 8v8s first 4v4 group second then solo 4's third.
  15. I'm in favor of these changes. It's been a long time coming. I have preached and preached that the whole "ranked 4 is the end game pvp" was a bad design choice to begin with. The one thing that needs to be added is some type of skill tier ranking for each individual player. We don't need public leaderboards per say; It could even be a option to make your MMR Public or Private,. That needs to be for each que then these changes would be just perfect assuming matchmaking works correctly. Overall it will increase pvp participation and that's always a good thing. They just need to add some profile or skill rating system that can be set as private or public like Overwatch 2 private/public profiles. Adding that one detail will satisfy everyone. Bad players don't have to show how bad they are, Good players can flaunt their skill rating.
