  1. An intel HD 4000 is NOT meant for gaming at all. It is meant for basic desktop applications only. Saying that the engine is bad because the game wont run well on a GPU that was never meant to play a game isnt the best thing to do.
  2. You've seen it in one game. Bioware have already said that it wont happen with TOR.
  3. Actually it marks the start of a decline when the main developer of any game leaves for any reason.
  4. Check your firewall, router settings etc. From what Bioware have said, the servers are 100% unrestricted in speed, so the problem lies on yours or your ISP's system.
  5. Until they get balanced in a future patch.
  6. Could always do what i plan to do. Try one class out, and then level another toon to see the other. In my somewhat limited experience, it really doesnt take too long to level at all.
  7. I dont mind difficulty. I'm more than willing to learn. I used to play wow during TBC and WOTLK, where my two mains were a prot paladin and an enhance shaman. The latter being pretty difficult in pvp. I will check out juggernaut though, but im trying to get as much advice as i can first.
  8. Hi all. I bought this game a few days ago, but hardly had any chance to play but thats about to change. I've been looking at info for each class in the game, and my choice is down to two classes. The Operative ( concealment, possibly speccing to medic if i need pve gear), and the juggernaut. What i would like is opinions from people who have played the operative class. I know i could do a search, but that usually leads to threads full of trolls or whiners. I decided to post here to ( hopefully) get some feedback of the class and spec in both pvp and pve, and perhaps some levelling tips. Thanks in advance if you can help a newbie out!
  9. Thanks to both of you for your replies! I have to say that i am a casual player. Meaning at most i might get an hour a night, maybe two to play. I'm in no rush to hit max level and i intend to try out all the classes, and maybe eventually get them to max level and geared enough to do some PvP or whatever else takes my fancy. I must thankyou for your honesty and posting a pretty unbiased reply. You listed both pro's and con's which is exactly what i was after I'll give the guides in the forum a good read and check out a few things. In the mean time, if anyone else has any answers as well, feel free to help me out!
  10. Hello everyone. I just picked the game up today and decided i would come and say hello and introduce myself. My names Rob, i'm 31, i come from North East Wales in the UK, and of course, i like Star Wars!. I've got a few questions i would like to ask if i may What is this game like. I know its a Star Wars MMO ( i played SWG from beta till mid 2009), but i'd like some unbiased opinions if possible. What servers are there? Is there a General Consensus about which servers are the better populated ones for playing on? How populated is this game. Please understand i dont mean all around, i mean at peak times during weekdays/weekends. Are there any good guides or forum threads i can read while the game downloads in order to get to know the game, so i dont have to spam World Chat? What is the PvP/PvE like in The Old Republic? Are there lots of PvP matches or World PvP, and how are the PvE instances or PvE in general? What are the different factions like? Are there any real differences? What are the classes in this game like? Are there any real differences in Power Output or versatility? I normally play a tank in the games i play, but they must have a versatile aspect to them. I have some other things to ask, but i can wait until i get some replies before adding to the above. Thanks for any replies anyone is able to give me.
