  1. We already have what are basically RvR lakes, they're just not full of anything fun to do. Can we get some bloody bases, maybe a few NPC guards to spice things up when the other faction isn't around, and some actual noticeable bonuses for holding and taking these bases? The NPCs could even be used as a balancing factor for the faction imbalance. They gain power when their side is outnumbered and lose power when their side is the dominant one. And give us some more Huttball arena configurations while you're at it.
  2. They even think he's actually left-wing. It's pretty hilarious, the guy is more conservative than the conservative party of my country.
  3. Any truly competitive player welcomes a system where the gear grind is short and easy.
  4. Nihilism is just Buddhism without the silly robes, the vow of silence, or the "I can't kill anything" rule. Try it some time, it's a freeing experience.
  5. I find the best approach to pretty much anything in life is as close to a lack of emotion as you can get. Emotions, positive or negative, lead to mistakes. Once the enemy is down, then feel an emotion (preferably happiness). While he's up, be a psychopath. In general, you should never allow an emotion to be felt or shown unless you decide to show it.
  6. I've already explained why these words are used, because they say something that no other word can say as fast. I'm 28, damn near 29, and I use the word faceroll and epeen because there are the fastest way to get those concepts across. The point of language is the conveyance of information in as fast a way as possible. Using words that are larger just because you think the shorter words are "childish" doesn't make them childish, it makes you pretentious. Even in writing, the most valuable lesson an author can learn is "If you can say it with 1 word, don't use two." Flowery words don't get your point across better.
  7. Hype doesn't kill games, because games rarely actually die. Remember, the forums are not an indication of the population. You can go on the forums of any MMO and it's doom and gloom. Even the fan forums of GW2 are, right now, doom and gloom. Then you log into the game and it's people playing, having fun and little to no complaining. It's even that way in real life. Turn on the news, ask people in the street, they'll tell you the world is getting worse. Now pull up the statistics and you find the world has been steadily getting better every year since probably the end of the dark ages. Life expectancy has risen across the board, people considered poor by today's standards would have been well off by Medieval standards. Education rates are higher. Across the board, the earth is improving. Perception rarely lines up with facts.
  8. Well, to be fair, sometimes the opinion they have has been formed due to them having a false sense of entitlement. Just because someone insults you for having a different opinion doesn't mean your opinion wasn't stupid. Sure, they could have shot it down more politely, but being rude doesn't invalidate a point.
  9. I disagree. By turning them dark side, you've unlocked their journey to freedom. The end goal of the Sith way of life is limitless personal freedom. Bringing that to another is definitely a show of good.
  10. Once I've done an FP once, there's no reason for me to do the story again. Though I won't rush others.
  11. Black is the only shade/colour that has been in style since pretty much the dawn of clothing. Other colours come and go, but black is forever.
  12. I'll never understand why people become obsessed with the success or failure of a game they no longer/never did play that happens to share a genre. As a BF3 player, do I care how well MW3 sold? No I play SWTOR, WoW's success or failure is none of my concern as I don't enjoy the game. When I eventually stop playing SWTOR, I'll no longer care how many subs SWTOR has.
  13. Hello fellow players, Okay, so SWTOR has a bit of a problem with skill bloat. Not as bad as some games I've seen, but it's up there. A lot of the community is anti-macro, so that's not an option for reducing skill bloat I want to discuss. What I do want to propose is target modifiers. I will use a single example: Force Charge and Intercede. Juggernauts/Guardians have the ability to Charge/Leap to enemies and allies, this is covered by two abilities, Force Charge and Intercede (and the Guardian equiv) So why not collapse these skills into a sort of "dual skill". If I target an Ally, the ability on my bar flips to Intercede. If I target an Enemy, the ability flips to Charge. Each would be different and have their own cooldown, but you could collapse two very similar abilities into a single keybind. I'm sure there are tons of other examples. This doesn't make the game any easier, it just means I don't have to use ridiculous key combos like CTRL+Shift+Q because I've run out of normal keybinds.
  14. Faceroll, Epeen, and Carebear all have definitions that other words can't express as easily. I could say "He's a PvE player who gets flustered by PvP and gets really angry when he gets ganked." or I could say Carebear and express that sentence in one word. I could say you're "online reputation", or epeen. I'll take epeen, it's shorter. I could say "So easy you could roll your face across the keyboard and win" or I can just say faceroll. Language is meant to convey ideas, and the faster you can convey those ideas the better. Of course, I'm one of those crazy people who is pro-universal phonetic English spelling reform.
  15. This is how I chose between Sith and Jedi. I sat down and asked myself "You now have force powers. Some dude gets up in your grill and is really getting on your nerves, what do you do?" I think it took all of about 0.01 seconds to mentally respond "Force Choke the **** out of him until blood leaks out of his mouth." Hence, I picked Sith. Some people dream about being Superman. Some people dream about being Batman. Some of us dream about being Lobo.
