It's lots of people who dislike these effects, considering the many threads dealing with that topic. Btw, no comment from BW in any of them. With an option, those who still like the effects may just leave them switched on, so what? no statement + no fix = ignoring

Ok hab die Lösung! Man muss seinen Gefährten erst wegschicken und kann dann im Interface-Editor die Gefährten-Menüleiste deaktivieren. Dann bleibt er/sie permanent weg! :-) edit: Zu früh gefreut. Das blendet leider nur die Menüleiste aus, Gefährte kommt trotzdem spätestens beim nächsten Gespräch wieder. :-(

Ok I indeed found the answer! You can deactivate the companion menu bar in the interface editor!!! If you first send away your companion and then deactivate his/her menu bar, the companion won't reappear again! Edit: Ok I've been mistaken, this just hides the menu bar but the companion will reappear eventually :-(

Dear EA, after 5 years ignoring this thread, is it so hard to just give us a simple option to turn off these ridiculous flashy effects which completely destroy immersion, StarWars atmosphere and our retinas?

Ok is there any way to switch off these annoying flashes popping up in different colours all the time during combat? When executing a lightsaber stroke I'd rather just see it hitting the opponent instead of all these cartoonish childish "effects".

Can you deactivate your companion PERMANENTLY? Sometimes this indeed happens on its own, for instance after completing certain missions. Then the companion portrait menu to the lower left completely disappears. Question: Is there some way (maybe at least a bug you can use) to disable that menu manually? Note: I'm NOT talking about the feature where you can send away your companion TEMPORARILY by right-clicking on his portrait. This option is insufficience since in this case the companion reappears every time you change area etc.

Hi, kann man seinen Gefährten DAUERHAFT wegschicken? Und nein ich meine nicht Rechtsklick auf sein Portrait und dann "Gefährten fortschicken". Denn macht man das, kommt er ja andauernd wieder wenn man nen neuen Bereich betritt etc. Manchmal (z.B. nach bestimmten Missionen) passiert das ja automatisch. Dann verschwindet das Gefährten-Menü unten links komplett und der Gefährte bleibt auch dauerhaft weg. Meine Frage: Kann man das auch irgendwie selbst manuell herbeiführen? Evtl. durch irgendeinen Bug?
