  1. Here is my build: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/sentinel#9f28e8clc-28i-2 I am using full Rakata, except for my implants, which for this one I forgot to switch pre-fight anyway... This fight I was using a battlemaster implant and a columi augmented (I had 2 of them, but forgot to put the other on.) My sabers are also augmented, but that's it. I was using a Jedi Knight buff and the Rakata Might stim only. Here is my log: http://loganalyzer.blacksheeptroopers.com/stats/19650/showfgt The DPS ended up being around 1380.00
  2. I just downloaded a combat file parser, and I'm going to spend the majority of the day figuring out what deals the best dps. I'm only going to compare Watchman and Focus, because that's what I'm familiar with atm. I'll try and figure out combat (though, that weapon based damage looks pretty appealing) at a later date.
  3. My guild members and I keep discussing how much we really did miss a lot of the aspects of SWG. I think the two most missed aspects were the amount of customization (houses, clothes, etc) and the space battles. With that being said, I think it's important to note that there hasn't been a good Space Combat Sim in ages. The last good one was Free Space 2, and that was almost a decade ago. This genre has been forgotten and can be capitalized on, if done right. The fighter controls in JTLS in SWG were too sluggish. The throttled pitching was a problem. But if you make the controls responsive, as in Wing Commander or Free Space, and not so much like the X Series, it will catch on very quickly and you will have a devoted player base. I can almost guarantee you that. What's more, it would be cool to mix in capital ship missions too. Similar to JTLS, where players could mount turrets, but on a larger scale. It would be cool to have a full scale space battle where you have fighters, capital ships, and even frigates. Potentially, PVP could be epic. I think in this case, it would be very important to do cross-server space battles because of the lack of population on some servers. Or the imbalance of Republic vs Imperial. Even the thought of this addition excites me more than you could possibly imagine.
  4. I disagree. I can kill a person 1v1 much faster than a lot of watchman people, as well as the spec is even better for AoE. Force Exhaustion is a DoT, so it helps with people trying to ninja objectives, not to mention sweep is AoE with burst damage rather than DoT. Particularly useful when more than one person is low on health or becoming low.
  5. I don't think so, necessarily. When you have 5 stacks of Juyo form, as well as a relic CD popped, this can deal a HUGE burst of damage. I usually use overcharge sabers, pop the relic and Inspiration if I have it, then hit masterstrike. This allows my other abilities to cool down and does a good deal of damage, as well as applies dots. The base damage with my masterstrike in Columni/champ level gear is over 4k when Juyo is stacked to 5. If I had to guess it does somewhere around 7-8k in a relatively short time if all goes well. Of course, the move is useless in certain raid bosses like Karagga when movement is essential. But the first boss in EV it works pretty well on. --- But, I do agree with your statement about the rotation. It's really hard to have a set rotation because of CD timing and Cauterize's CD being tied to Merciless slash. I have a bunch of mini-rotations I use, but usually it's a game of balance the amount of focus you have.
  6. From my experience, it depends on the situation. While I'm in PVP, I do 5/5/31, but while I'm raiding I'll do 31/10 or something like that. I find my damage SEEMS (note, there is no damage meter, so there is no way to tell) higher when I'm watchman in raids. I also have a significantly higher survivability because of the -30% damage from AoEs in the combat spec as well as the heals. Zen is particularly useful. I seem to have significantly better luck taking down multiple people, as well as 1v1 while in focus because of the super burst damage that is force sweep. My usual rotation is Force Leap>statis>Zealous Strike>Force Exhaustion>Sweep>Zealous Leap>Slash or strike depending on my focus until sweep is off CD>Sweep. The reason this works so well is because of the instant crit talent for sweep. After using a leap ability, it makes the next sweep instant crit. Stasis and Exhaustion also increase the damage by 12.5% each tick up to 4. The Stasis prevents the player from doing damage, while you build up focus and do some damage. Exhaustion snares them so they cant' run away. if you get off a sweep (which costs 1 focus because of the watchman talents) it enables the force exhaustion to tick up to 4 so you'll have one faster. Zealous enables the instant crit (and does a good deal of damage as well as closes the gaps), Slash costs 3(with one refunded) and has a higher crit and surge rating than other abilities because of talents, and then at last sweep, which has a smaller CD thanks to talents. if done right, you can do ~13k of damage with that rotation alone, as well as take minimum damage. After that, unless they're battlemasters or a tank, you should have your dispatch ability available which does a good deal of damage from ranged. Hope this helps in your PVP. It's really fun when you're in a group and crit everyone for like 4k+ with sweep. Oh and stack surge and expertise if you like this spec.
  7. I'll admit I didn't read this entire thread, but the OP has a point. While I find myself being incredibly useful in huttball most of the time, the lack of a player displacement move is rather annoying. This isn't that much of an issue when you're the only Sentinel or one of two, but when there's half the team that are sentinels it becomes a problem. And you might say "Then don't pvp with so many other sentinels" Well sure, I'd love to. Too bad we don't have much say on who we pvp with, even with a premade. I love playing my sentinel. I put up realistic damage of around 200k-300k each round in champion gear. I am focus spec and love doing my burst damage rotation. But, when it comes to huttball, it becomes particularly annoying when you leap to someone, only to be pushed off the edge, then picked off. I don't even care what kind of displacement move we would get. Or even if we had a way to instant cooldown force leap once every minute or so. But in a game where CC is the most important part of the game, being one of the only classes without one is rough. ESPECIALLY since we're melee. A push with a minute CD would be amazing, and in my humble opinion, not unbalancing. It doesn't give us a particular advantage seeing how we are short range dps, and it would make the class usable on both sides of the ball in huttball. Not just offense.
  8. Lots of grief giving today. I pre-ordered on July 21st and still haven't gotten in because like an idiot I didn't redeem my code til the 9th of November. I'm a bit anxious right now to get in, but I'll wait because I'm just excited to get to play the game. Bright side is that at least I can study for finals this week without being distracted. Of course... My last final is today. Point being, for everyone who feels so entitled to this game, stop. The release date is 12/20. If you'd rather wait until then, be my guest. :-)
