  1. Same experience here. 1st, login works regardless of if you put security key in on step 1 or 2 2nd, screen with the play button shows but it's disabled and everything else is contentless (Image: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ieD8hMBT1WHnXdJZ9 ) 3rd, after a couple of minutes the same screen goes black and then the application quits (Image: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QiTqVWe21PezKWmy7 ) =-=-=-=- Above is using the latest repair launcher tool to fix the launcher. Without fixing the launcher even the latest launcher won't run. Game crashes with an error Host_WindowLoadTimeout (Image: https://photos.app.goo.gl/K8vV43r14NhQsmTd9) Also, you had to ensure there's a client_settings.ini file and it has "Fullscreen = false D3DFullScreen = false RefreshRate = 60 Check NativeHeight, NativeWidth, Height and Width ( all 4 ) match your monitor resolution." (link) Tried a number of reinstalls off fresh install, and using the line above fixes, and nothing gets you past the Play screen in the launcher which just hangs, had a disabled button and shows nothing before turning black and quitting after a few minutes. Logs aren't picking up anything. Not happy that I just got 180 days over on kinguin, can't get a refund, and not even one playable day once subbed due to launcher above stuffing up due to latest update
  2. Thanks for the guide. Starparse is working fine on the logging front and overlays display fine on the desktop. However, overlays seem to go hidden the moment the game is launched. Would you know if there is any way to get the overlays to display over SWTOR in-game / raids?
  3. Bump. Please make it so. Tattoos on a Twi'lek make so much more sense if they don't stop at the face. E.g, Darth Talon from legends.
  4. Yes. It runs using Wine. Runs great even given solid GPU & RAM. Note: Alt + Tab freezes the game. Tested on: OS X 10.10.5, SWTOR 6.0 1. Install Wine 2.0 & Winetricks (can install both using Homebrew in Terminal) 2. Use winetricks to install msvcp90=native d3dx9 vcrun2008 msls31 winhttp 3. Use wine to run SWTOR_setup.exe (installs your setup files) 4. Once setup finished add the following lines to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/BioWare/Star Wars - The Old Republic/launcher.settings file using TextEdit: Save the launcher.settings file. 5. Put swtor_fix.exe download from https : // github . com / aljen / swtor_fix (no spaces) into ~\.wine\drive_c\ 6. Put SWTORLaunch.app into Applications from the .dmg file (same name) also downloaded from the link above. 7. Run SWTORLaunch.app to install SWTOR. The launcher pops up in a Wine window. (Note: game is Gigabytes big and takes ages to download) 8. Once install finished close SWTOR and the 2 Terminal tabs that are open (i.e, swtor_fix.exe and launcher.exe). 9. Open winecfg in a new Terminal. Under the 'Graphics' tab, tick the 'Emulate a virtual desktop' textbox, set Width & Height to your monitor's resolution and click Ok. 10. Open SWTORLaunch.app to run SWTOR. Note the launcher pops up in a Wine window. Just interact with it like you would on windows. **SWTORLaunch.app (applescript) opens Terminal running swtor_fix.exe and launcher.exe in separate tabs - these two wine executables need to be running concurrently for SWTOR on MAC OS X to work. Please let me know if you have any issues with SWTORLaunch.app so I can update it. SWTOR on MAC has been running great for me. Even better on the 2012 MAC than the old PC.
  5. May seem like an old thread is being reawakened here but the criticisms of this thread very much apply to the most recent in-game content. Played through all expansions up until the latest chapter of KotFE which hasn't been released yet. Unfortunately, none of the class quests have evolved past the original 3 chapters. Your class characters all become the outlander and all get exactly the same dialogue options minus 1. Recognition of your character as a member of his class and 2. When you rekindle a relationship with an old companion from chapters 1-3, as opposed to meet a new companion which originally belonged to another class from chapters 1-3; slightly different dialogue occurs in your "meet again" conversation as a result. That, and continued combat abilities are about all the chosen class has to do with anything in the post-original class story chapters. Bioware is awesome due to storytelling. That's your claim to fame. So if you want it so bad that subscribers continue to pay to play; vary the content between each class, b/c otherwise fans will subscribe once to play through new content, and kill their subscriptions the moment they're done. Vary that content per each class, and you'll multiple your revenue because players will want to play through each class story before they unsubscribe. Granted it takes longer to introduce new content if you change to this route, but who cares? People will continue to play your game rather than switch to competitors which will pay attention to very common complaints such as those made in this thread.
  6. Thanks a heap for the guide. I'm applying your E, C & A allocation from your 224 pve mastery stim for 208 pvp (minus some of the weakest stat, and plus max expertise); but I feel competitive (its valor lvl 46 mind you, but just the same ) Since SWTOR patch 4.0, with suggested distribution of A, C & E on Exemplar gear items, can we assume you'd remove an augment from your lowest priority stat (-73), add an augment for whichever stat the guide says you should increase with crystals (+73, -82) and add 2 War Hero Crystals (+82 Expertise) to total 2018 Expertise? E.g, Telekinetics Sage priorities are something like: Mastery > Power > Expertise > Critical (25%) > Alacrity > Accuracy Therefore, -2 Crit Crystals, +2 Exp Crystals, -1 Acc Augment, +1 Crit Augment. Assuming not much the diff between top tier pve and pvp gearing minus the existence of expertise and the uniform increasing of other stats to accommodate.
  7. I wouldn't solo anything Makeb and up. I believe 2+ Heroics on every planet with a level rating below that can be done with a companion. Heroics are a good way to go about getting decent PVE armour prior to hitting lvl 65. Wouldn't prioritise XP levelling though - getting to lvl 65 is a cake walk whilst attaining sufficient credits to buy the things you want and getting decent PVE/PVP gear is tough. If you're still intent on getting XP, check out the 'character perks' in the legacy window (hotkey 'Y' by default); there's a bunch of boosts on XP you can get as you play the game.
  8. Salut.
  9. I'd suggest ebay if a physical key is what you really want. Ensure it supports RFC 6238 TOTP standard. Have to agree that losing the app on your phone, resetting, upgrading, etc. which gets SWTOR out of touch with the generated keys is painful business (i.e, needing to call BioWare, waiting on the line for ages, followed by an international call to get them to reset your pw b/c you can't remember how exactly you typed in the answers to your security questions.. However, there is another option. Google and download WinAuth (PC application); this follows the RFC 6238 TOTP standard just like the SWTORSK mobile app, meaning you can use it the same way you do the mobile app, to generate the securiy key from your PC. I'm using it myself and having no issues. Also you may like to check out Authy, Google Authenticator, FreeOTP, etc. which I think might do the same thing. Sorry for reopening an old thread but this needed to be added in somewhere.
