  1. During testing I had a rock solid ping to the SV server (from UK, don't have this problem to US servers). Since it's gone live, it's all over the damn place. Don't know what they did between testing & live, but it's a pain in the ass.
  2. My thoughts exactly. I still haven't done R4 yet. This week was easy on Malgus Server. Didn't bother on the two US servers, probably near impossible on French & German ( can wait an age to do FP's).
  3. Since 7.2 I've been getting this constantly. Never had it before.
  4. From the UK. Created a new character. GSF could be a little laggy. FP & Arena was fine. Ping ranged between 295 - 400. Normal for me is 28 on Darth Malgus. Considering the pings, everything was quick and smooth except for occasions in the GSF. Quite impressed tbh.
  5. Definitely the Avira Anti Virus it doesn't like. Which is strange, as up until October 14 it was fine (I was deemed a worthy tester). I turn the Real-time protection and Web Protection off whilst I launch the game. Either BioWare made a change or Avira did. Adding the game to the Whitelists makes no difference.
  6. Steam didn't work for me either. Exactly the same problem.
  7. @JackieKo I tried adding to my Whitelist, didn't make a jot of difference. Still have to disable my A/V to launch the game. Was fine until the 14th October. Have tried both Steam & New Launcher with the same results. At least I have a work around, shouldn't have to though.
  8. I care about the CC's. I pay for the sub and refuse to buy CC's for a cosmetic item. I have disposable time to spend on GS to gain CC's, not disposable income to spend on CC's. I do agree with your other sentiment though.
  9. Yep, if you are in less than 326 it's a nightmare. 326 isn't easy, you have to think and use debuffs etc. It can also help if the companions you are forced to use are at L50 affection. Do this out of the chapter or in, your choice.
  10. Not impressed at the reduction of the coins. I used them mainly for unlocks, also to purchase things I wanted from the market. The packs have reduced my flexibility in receiving what I desire.
  11. Did this once. Decided that I'll give it a miss on another server.
  12. I did the GS2 grind on all 5 servers to get the CC's. Now with GS3 I doubt I will as the CC drop is less, being given a pack instead is nowhere near as valuable for me. The coins gave me the FREEDOM to purchase what I wanted from the market. The chances of receiving such items from a pack is very unlikely. Increasing the unlock cost on items from GS3 is just the icing on the cake!!
  13. That's all well and good, but even Whitelisted and placed in exceptions, the launcher does something that triggers my A/V software to stop it. Whatever went around the 14" October really upset my Anti Virus. The new launcher had been working fine before that. Just to add, wont launch via Steam either. Only way to enable the game to run is to disable the A/V software, launch the game, then alt-tab out to re-enable the A/V.
  14. I have been doing some more testing and found the problem for my PC. I use Avira Antivirus. To enable the launcher to work and install the game I had to disable both "Real-time scanning" and "Web Protection". Now, whilst the game was downloading, if I switched RTS back on, the download would halt. Disable it again, 'DL' would resume. At this point WP could be switched on. The game then launched, could be played. I inserted exceptions for SWTOR executable files into the AV but upon trying, the launcher still crashed and required the the two protections to be turned off temporarily, even after a reboot. This temporary 'fix' hasn't stopped it dropping me back to the character select screen even after choosing one and clicking 'PLAY'. At least the game runs!! So, is it an AntiVirus program update that has caused the problem, or, a launcher update? Personally, I'd be lead believe to a launcher issue, something has changed within that now triggers the AntiVirus systems. Hope this helps you and others.
