I have to agree. I an finding artifice so useless on my alt that im tempted to drop it and level biochem so that I can have access to my reusables.
-
When a Marauder hops out in front of me before I can get there because they are in a hurry, I don't bother taking aggro back from them. I just let him die and then take aggro.
-
Anyone that isn't busy should queue for HM Maelstrom Prison so that I can get my last HK part.

I like madness for raiding and flashpoints, but my head would explode if I attempted to level with it.

Shadow Protection needs to last longer..

I can agree with this thread. If the buff that it gives were significant, I could understand it having a short duration. However, the buff is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Sure it helps, but not enough to be limited to strictly. -
Roll a stealth class. I solo the pvp quests daily. People can gank you if you are a stealther(if you are not paying attention to your surroundings), but no one can camp a stealther.

I am working on getting HK-51 from the beginning on my guardian. If you are interested in helping contact Araris in game.

[Guide/Video] Min-Maxing DPS, Stat / Gear Check

Kinda sucks that askmrrobot is the go to build site for swtor, and their dns server is down so all builds are down. -
I don't think the 2.5 changes break anything. After adjusting to the changes, a player should still be able to be effective. However, I can see where he is coming from. The self-sufficiency is what made the spec feel like an "assassin." It sort of made sense that an assassin wouldn't be as attached to the healer as others. After all, he is an "assassin." It can be explained away, but the change definitely favored high-end raiding over any other aspect of the game. It is easy to point out that benefits do exist to having more mitigations in PVP, but no one is arguing that the benefits are none-existant. Many would just prefer the self heals over the extra mitigation given that they are pretty insignificant in a pvp environment.

It would be a massive undertaking, but it would be cool if they added the ability to fully swap your allegiances. -
Rerolling Madness, Advice Please :P?
timidobserver replied to Berronaxftw's topic in Shadow / Assassin
Yup. Best to adapt to the changes and keep playing darkness or reroll to another class. Don't play a madness assassin though. I don't recall which thread, but there was some guy claiming that he made a deception build that is viable in PVE. You could try looking for that. -

My suggestion, find a way to make the new darkness changes work for you. You really don't want to be playing a madness assassin right now. It isn't worth the effort of gearing it up. -
This is why being a game designer doesn't require a degree in Math. Yeh, the Math needs to add up behind the scenes, but a page full of puked up math isn't going to make a clunky mechanic feel less clunky. The current state of Dark Protection is extremely clunky. It only partially usable in PVE depending on which boss you are fighting and how much they cc or teleport around, and completely unsable in PVP since your going to constantly be stunlocked. Math tends not to factor in those instances where the mechanic cannot be used or how the mechanic feels during gameplay. At the end of the day, you can make it work most of the time in PVE, even if it doesn't play as smoothly. However, I've switched to deception in PVP for the first time since launch.

This is about the best assessment that I've seen. The goal, which was to reduce spikiness, was achieved for the most part. However, I agree that the Dark Protection mechanic that they chose to go with is terrible. The decision appears to have been based totally on puked up math. How the class would play and feel was never considered.
