  1. Can I still upgrade my account to get this? I was checking the store link and didn't see it, but just wondering if it's gone forever or if I'm just blind.
  2. COD mail is always an option. Ultimately, responsibility for the trade and price will fall on the seller. I can't see moderators stepping in, even if the trade was agreed upon in game, and a different amount was exchanged.
  3. This is a two part question: Part 1, for the Devs/Moderators: Would it be a violation of the TOS to create and advertise a player-run Discord Server for the purpose of posting items for sale that would otherwise be priced out of the GTN and/or rare and collectible items that there is demand for? Part 2, for the players: If this would not be a violation of the TOS, would you be interested in using such a discord? Similar to the Tamriel Crown Exchange on ESO, but strictly for the exchange of in-game credits and items. Basically, a Trade Channel that is always running, and allows for price-point gauging? I could see this as having several benefits, not the least of which would potentially be the stabilization of prices of sought-after items. One of the things that leads to the massive price hikes in SWTOR items is an artificial scarcity, such as when an item comes off of the Cartel Market. When a flash sale occurs, or an item is just rotationally available on the CM, the prices drop dramatically, and increase when it no longer is as available. However, supply usually doesn't actually drop that much, as many people such as myself purchase items in bulk during these times for resale later. If there was a persistent, non-time of day dependent platform for these items that cost over 1 Billion, I do believe prices would not increase as dramatically as quickly.
  4. Alright, pretty much every thread to date has been "I dislike X" "I hate Y" and "I unsubbed because Z". Here's what I like about LOTS so far: The story, while way too short, was at least interesting. I'm hoping this doesn't just turn into how WoW was from WoD on of chasing the same old baddies around aimlessly and everyone just coming back from the dead because creativity died. The Good: The Cinematic was absolutely incredible. The Kolto fight on Manaan was a good arc. Elom was beautiful The focus was clearly on story, and not grinding out 5 more levels. The new gearing system has a lot of promise, I'm genuinely impressed with how it was done. Removing set bonuses and moving them to the new implant thing was smart, and has a lot of promise. I actually like the new UI a lot more than the old one. Multi-classing (mostly) worked as promised. The Bad: It's way too short, 1.5-2hrs of content after a 2mo+ delay, it's not a great look. Not a fan of not 'activating' outfits in outfitter, the autoswitch when you click is annoying. The Currency Menu bugs out often, seemingly alternating between working completely, working only on the 'i' inventory menu, and working only if you go to the character pane and swap to currency. It's not game-breaking, but come on. The delay with the weapons on outfitter feels like kicking the can down the road. "7.1" isn't a good answer, since there's absolutely no idea when that's coming, and it's a pretty big holdup, considering the 2 variations of lightsabers presently available in the 320+ range look, well, awful. Requiring Tech Fragments for must-have purchases is annoying, since they're capped at 11k, and now there's no easy way to farm them. The Ugly: Feels like we were lied to a lot with this expansion. It feels more like an interim content patch than an actual expansion. No new planets, no new mechanics, as of now, no clue as to what gearing is going to look like. No new races, and a mild tease of "maybe new classes" because of the separation of class from story. Doesn't feel like much, really. Early on in the PTS there was talk that existing characters would get one class-respec of their existing class, as well as the second combat style. Now, this may have changed somewhere down the line, the PTS was too buggy for me to keep following, so I lost a lot of interest in it until release. But if it wasn't clearly changed, that feels like a low blow. Putting Vindican's dualsaber behind a $40 paywall in particular upsets me. At the barest of minimums, 10 years into the game, make it possible to upgrade to the original CE so that the fleet vendors are no longer accessible only to like, 5 people and those willing to spend $120+ on Amazon for an access code. It's not like EA/Bioware even gets the $120+, it's always private sellers. I really like this game, I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of "It's dead" - The MMO Market is still a good market, and this is the only Star Wars game on it. Unless a new one is in the works, and somehow hasn't been leaked yet, this is it. All the people talking about subs being down must not understand how much money there is to be made with the Cartel Market. I'm hopeful for the future of the game, but a lot of what happened this week feels like a letdown.
  5. First of all, thank you to the devs for continuing to maintain strongholds, and the many, many options available to us. It really helps keep this game alive. That being said, there's a few things that would be absolutely fantastic to have. Top of that list, for me, is allowing guilds to have more than one SH. The current limit of 1 SH and 1 FS per guild is more than a bit restrictive. Full disclosure, as a member of a roleplaying guild, and with that being my primary reason for playing this game, I am incredibly biased. I am fully aware that there are other issues that require more immediate attention than Strongholds, and roleplaying in general, but it would be nice if guilds had their SH limit increased to one of each SH, same as personal. But even an increase to 3 SH's + FS would be great. It would also be nice to have the option of a second FS. A few ideas: A new SH/Guild SH: A Gage or Terminus/Republic equivalent SH with a bridge, crew deck, officer's deck, and hangar. An Oricon SH akin to Vader's Mustafar Castle. A smaller apartment than Coru/DK, just a simple 1-2 bedroom apartment. Obviously, like so many others, I'd love to see a change to the hook system, but barring that overhaul, an expansion of the X/Y placement from 20 to 50 would solve many issues.
  6. I know that, but it's just silly. Dualsaber looks terrible in my opinion, and I love the gameplay of those classes otherwise. I know I -can- use it for RP, which is of course the primary reason I want it, but I also enjoy PvP and the aesthetic of dualsaber is just..Meh.
  7. So dumb. So..so dumb. I mean, it's awesome, but..I just want to use a single-blade on assassin/shadow... Also, actually shooting blaster rifle would be nice. And I'm sure there's some weirdo out there that -likes- dualsabers and wants it on their warrior.
  8. Okay, so anyways, they didn't answer the only question I care about. Are skills that require certain weapons equipped being reworked to not require that? I just want to play an Assassin/Shadow with single-blade. That's all I want. Please..Please tell me this is coming?
  9. Updated, more coherent thoughts: Sith Juggernaut/Jedi Guardian Allow use of double-bladed saber and non-saber equivalents. Sith Assassin/Jedi Shadow Allow use of single-bladed saber (Without ability lock, yes I know they -can- equip them). Trooper Commander / BH Merc Allow use of Blaster Rifle (without ability lock), and possibly sniper rifle too. Trooper Vanguard / BH Powertech Allow use of Vibroswords, and Blaster Pistols/Rifles IA and Smuggler I really don't play/know enough of them to make recommendations, but I imagine that they might also want the options. -- The biggest obstacle I see to a lot of this is the damage/stats of the weapons. This could be pretty easily adjusted by making weapon damage dependent on class or spec, rather than on the weapon itself. Animation wise, there's already a boatload of animations, simply recycling some into the classes for the new equipment wouldn't upset anyone, I don't think. Also thinking that potentially adding weapons to the outfit designer would be a decent idea, and allow sabers/vibroswords/pistols to be placed over shields when paired with a viable mainhand. (Obviously no dualwielding dualsabers, or Rifle/Pistol Cannon/Pistol, etc). -- Also would love to see a purely cosmetic option for Saberclasses regarding weapon stance, but that's asking too much I think. Thoughts?
  10. I understand certain things, such as Dual Wield, can't/shouldn't be given to all classes for stats/balance purposes, however, it makes very little sense for certain restrictions to still be in place. Shadow/Assassin should be able to use single blade. It's not as if the dualsaber takes up both weapon slots, you still equip a focus. It's really no different than Jugg/Guardian. It would look significantly better, too. Likewise, Warrior/Knight and Sage/Sorc should be able to use a dualsaber. I'd love to see BH able to use Rifles, but I haven't quite worked out how you'd get Merc able to use them statwise. Basically, I want to play a Shadow with singleblade, but it's not viable to do so, and this upsets me greatly. I just don't understand why weapons haven't been largely changed to cosmetic at this point. I get why my Jugg isn't going around DWing, cause no shield, and such, but for the life of me I can't see why a Jedi Shadow/Sith Assassin wouldn't have the option of single blade. I also would love to see Commando able to use a Rifle rather than a cannon. Animation wise, there's already plenty of animations between the saber classes that borrowing to fill them in shouldn't be too repetitive. I'd understand that you wouldn't want to play a Shadow just to use Guardian animations, but mixing JK and SW animations would be pretty neat. There's only so many ways to shoot a rifle/pistol, that I get, but it also feels like BH/Trooper don't really use their weapons, as much as they use gadgets, which feels weird too. But that might just be me.
  11. 1. What is the best way to play the Sith Warrior Story according to you? (DS, LS, Gray etc.) 100% Dark Side. Most of the choices are befitting a Sith anyway. It's a ton of fun too. 2. Which companion (in the SW Story) would you like to be more developed the most? I liked Jaesa a lot, I'd have liked if there was more we could do with/learn about her. Especially DS option. 3. Did you like the ending? I thought it was fitting, and fun. I despised Baras from early on, so I really enjoyed it. 4. LS or DS Jaesa? Dark side, definitely. It's so twisted and horrible, but such an awesome option we have. 5. Did you also think that all Broonmark said was "Blood", "Revenge", and "Vengeance"? Broonmark will always just be that giant creepy fuzzball in the cargo bay. Honestly, I never used him after I got him, Jaesa was my go-to companion once I got her, before her I used Vette all the time.
  12. Lightsabers are a Sith and a Jedi’s weapon of choice, an identifier of their status as force wielders. But does anyone else really wish we had a choice with how our characters wielded them? I fully understand that the forms that Warriors and Knights use would prove a problem in some forms to them changing what weapons they use, but that’s a small issue comparatively. Considered that Armoring and Hilts share stat except for power vs armor rating, I think we could find a way to easily work out what I’m proposing. I would love if my Jedi Shadow could get away with a single-bladed lightsaber, or if my Jedi Guardian could use a double-bladed. I’m certain that I’m not the only person that wishes we could customize our characters just a little bit further than we already can and choose if our characters fight with one saber, two sabers, or a double-bladed saber. The only mechanical issue I can see with this is Hilt vs Armoring. Marauders and Sentinels benefit from the double power rating of hilts, while suffering from the lack of armoring. I think this could be resolved by introducing hilts that have an armor rating. This would allow Juggernauts and Guardians to use two blades without sacrificing armor. Additionally, I think this would be a general benefit to Tanks. I suppose that would mean that armor rated barrels would have to be added to compensate though, and I could see that snowballing one way or another. I’ll admit, I’m largely suggesting this because for the longest time I’ve wanted to play a Jedi Shadow who uses a single blade lightsaber, but I do think there’s more to it than that. What do other people think?
  13. I'm recently returning to SWTOR, and I'm trying to jump into the saddle and get into some roleplay. I resubbed, and apparently I have a free character boost to 60 that I want to use to get into it and rolling. But I have some questions first. Firstly: I don't know which faction to go with. I have characters on both factions as is, but I have concerns. Starting with Imperials: I'm hesitant to main Imperial largely because I feel the set up of the Empire is a breeding ground for "3dgy5me" characters. I understand that the culture requires a dark character, willing to commit genocide for basically no reason, but I'm concerned that my Sith will never be able to sit down and have a personal, friendly relationship with another Sith because one of the two will be trying to backstab the other to get ahead. I don't envision my Sith wanting to be involved in the political sphere, but as one who wants to crush the Republic, and needs allies and friends on that front. With Republic: I don't want to spend all day /sitting around Tython, pondering the meaning of life as a Jedi. I've seen a handful of Jedi guilds, which excites me because, I mean, Jedi, but a few that I've seen have been either of questionable quality (Based off some random people I saw with guild tags, not interaction myself, so I'm not going to judge entire guilds off that), or your character has to join as a Padawan and such. I've already written my characters out before I make them in most cases, so it doesn't fit particularly well for me to join as a Padawan. On the Trooper front, I was strongly considering it right up until about 30 minutes prior to writing this post when I found out that the level 40 PvP gear that was for sale on Coruscant the last time I played no longer exists. It looked awesome, and because it was readily available and fairly easy to grind out I could see it being a fitting uniform for troopers to wear. Basically what I'm asking is this: Which faction, in your honest opinions, would be better to jump into based on quality of walk-up/random roleplay. And also, are there any Sith or Jedi guilds that people could refer me to, so I can ask questions and look around to see what would make a good fit?
  14. As the Imperial Flagship "Hand of Ruin" nears completion in the shipyards of the Sith Empire, her crew and complement are being assembled. Holograms are posted in Dromund Kass seeking volunteers for this dangerous, but rewarding assignment. -- "The newest Flagship of the Empire nears completion, assignment to this vessel will mean danger, glory, and service to the Empire! Volunteer today to serve aboard Hand of Ruin in the Outer Rim territories, crush the Republic's will to fight, and enforce Imperial law". -- Hand of Ruin is a newly founded guild looking to get off the ground and become an active piece of the community here on The Ebon Hawk, hopefully providing roleplay for both Imperials and Republic players. Our goals so far OOC: Build up membership Of course, build our Flagship Offer a fun, immersive roleplaying experience for Imperials Offer a villain to Republic guilds also based in the Outer Rim IC: Hand of Ruin will be based in the Outer Rim, with the stated goal of crushing any resistance, and establishing firm Imperial rule, and periodically strike at Belsavis with the hopes of freeing more Imperial prisoners. Our missions will range from Planetary Conquest on Hoth/Tatooine, involving roleplay campaigns, as well as PvP campaigns. Additionally, Hand of Ruin has an attachment of Imperial Reclamation Service assigned to her, offering a chance for researchers both Sith and Imperial to explore and expand. -- Currently I am looking to fill out the ranks of the Bridge Officers before recruiting the rank and file. For the purposes of this, the number on the left will designate the number I currently have, the number on the right will designate the goal. Naval Bridge Officers: Admiral: 0/1 (Must be human) Commodore: 0/2 (Must be human) Group Captain: 0/4 (Must be human) Captain: 0/8 (Willing to accept Chiss to fill this rank) Army Bridge Officers: General: 0/1 (Must be human) Colonel: 0/2 (Must be human) Major: 0/4 (Must be human) Intelligence Bridge Officers: Ship Minder: 0/2 (Must be Human) Ship Ciper: 0/6 (Must be Human) Ship Fixer: 0/6 (Must be Human) -- As this is the early stages of the guild, I am hoping to fill out the IC leadership roles before opening the floodgates and taking on lower-ranked members. That being said, if you are interested feel free to contact me anyways, we can work something out. Please note that IC ranks do not give special privileges OOCly, If you are interested in filling any of the open roles, please contact me in game on Malcalius and we can decide if you'll be a right fit for us, and if we'll be a right fit for you. Do remember that we are just now getting started, so we do not yet have many of the features other guilds can/do offer. We will eventually have all of that with your help, however. Any Sith looking to join up are of course welcome as well, whether they wish to work with the military, intelligence, or IRS, we can find a home for you. Bounty Hunters are also welcome, as we do accept and hire Mercenaries to fill the ranks.
