  1. Your trip to Corellia begins with the start of the Second Great Galactic War, which starts 3,642 years before New Hope. Naboo's blockade by Trade Federation happens in 32BBY and that marks the beginning of the prequel saga. Therefore - TOR - 3,610 years before the movies. +/- one year.
  2. Too late? The rest of this post is not really aimed at you, but at most posters here. I think that poster didn't necessarily want a Jango Fett armor's port, just something in his style. Palpatine style robe not from that era? Dudes, he's talking about plainest black sith robe! Just like most Consular gear, but in black! What, baggy black robes are too futuristic for that era? Well, aren't you guys being a bit oversensitive? This is kinda what annoys me in TOR community. There are those haters that bash the game no matter what, second biggest group is the raging fanboys that are so narrow-minded and thick-skulled they won't accept any idea or at least try to understand someone's point. I see no reason why armor very similar to Jango's couldn't exist in TOR era. Mando armors differed vastly as they were customized to cater to mandalorian's style. I am against any and all kids of gear ports from future, but if it's just going to be similar, it won't be any more of a lore tweak than the actual republic troopers. They literally gave us clonetroopers in armour much more technologically advanced than the clone or later stormtrooper ones. If you accept TOR's clones(that guy from the cinematic was INTENTIONALLY made to look a bit like Jango), then armor similar to Fett's won't hurt your eyes, really. Don't be butthurt and as blind and stupid as the mindless haters. Extremes are bad both ways.
  3. Jesus, man, I understand that you might want to slow down your progress with xp but think about all those exploiters who would, as many pointed out before, stay forever 49 to roflstomp newbies in PvP. Truth is - for Warzones you can start a new character and use it just for the sake of PvP with friends. If there would be a way to stop XP in warzones, then we'd see dozens of twinking PvP guilds, gearing lvl 49 shadows/assassins, smashers and operatives with cartel stuff for maximum effect and tear through low levels like hot knife through butter. And I promise you - neither you nor your friends would enjoy being torn apart by whole groups of 49 twinks packed with expertise cartel crystals. Unless you'd be able to lock your level at, let's say, 36. That's when most classes get a nice skill like Juggernaut's saber throw. So, yeah, think about the consequences before you say something. I am not being mean or rude, just wanted to point out grave flaws of your plan.
  4. Nnnnnnope. I only use non-recurring way of subbing and I get my allowance every month.
  5. Pretty much. If they went through every effin planet 16 times and did at least some of their side quests available to everyone(unless they WZ'ed/FP'ed their way just to skip side quests to get to story ones), they won't mind 5 more levels. It's the mindset thing. Like enjoying being a healer. Different breed of people.
  6. - You don't get rested and receive worse quest rewards which means being forced to do more boring grind side quests; - Limited FP access; - Limited WZ access; - No OP access; - Limited space mission access; - Ugliness of your character (no unify colours, no hide head slot); - Credit cap; - Action bar cap; - Inability to wear orange gear; - Inability to trade; - Limited customization and race selection. Is that enough for you? I guess I could come up with a few more if I tried hard.
  7. Think average DLC released for popular games in 2011-2012. This is DLC and "Digital Expansion" is pretty much another name for that, made up by BioWare. This is not an xpack, this is a DLC and treat it as one, for duck sake!
  8. Oh, puh-lease. On an RP server I've met dozens of players who levelled both adv classes of most of the 8 basic classes(i.e. both sorc and assassin or both jugg and mara). They won't mind doing 5lvls of same sheet(!) with more characters after that.
  9. Good luck with that. Keep Warhammer: Age of Reckoning in mind.
  10. I can't say yes or no, but it's highly unlikely. There is no twinking per se in this game due to the bolster system. Sure, you can stay at level 49 by leaving warzones, but it also strips you off the rewards, PvP dailies and valor points you'd normally get. It is just as much of an advantage as that of a lvl 35 over lvl 15. See no reason to ban someone who strips himself of all the things just to enjoy 49lvl PvP.
  11. You go up to the lounge, there are 2 vendors, some space and the jukebox(people always ask where it is, it's up there, unavailable for you "normies"! ). One of the vendors is CE vendor and the other is a VIP vendor. Obviously VIP status =/= CE owner status. Some people tend to forget the difference.
  12. England as colonial empire. 3rd Reich. Soviets. Japan in several eras. Even Roman Empire and Persians. There were examples of ruthless, sometimes even genocidal conquest in our history. You call it cartoon, I call it history. Some country wanted to break out of Soviet Union? Suuuure, have our tanks and rockets. China didn't want to be conquered by Japan? Go ahead, impale yourself on our swords after we pack you into internment camps. Barbarians insisted on passing through roman lands in europe? Fine, but with pilum stuck in your eye and gladius tearing through your wife. Persians? 300 pretty much nails it. England didn't like revolts in their colonies - they were suppressed with bullets and bayonets, brutally. I guess I don't need to remind you of what nazis did to everyone who disagreed. Empire is just as realistic as the corrupt, rotten and falling apart Republic.
  13. Strange, in my opinion it looks much different than my version of republic quests. I have to admit that Tatooine is worst with the "OMG, MY LORD, WE NEED HELP WITH THOSE FEROCIOUS JAWAS!", but Balmorra? All I remember was pretty much what I wrote earlier about the Sith spearheading the assault. Did they lose Balmorra? You are wrong when it comes to Alderaan imho. What I mean, aside from occasional PC saving some imperial NPCs or doing errands for them, is that most of the quests revolve around one thing - performing face surgery with a glowstick/blaster on everyone who disagrees with the Empire to subdue him while Republic actions are like wrapping a car that falls apart with duct tape so it holds just a bit longer. Rep side Hoth was pathetic, for example. If it wasn't for the Havoc Squad, it'd just lose one battle after another. And what does Sith Warrior do in his storyline? Edit: Forgot to add - It's not really like that on Dromund Kaas. You pretty much do errands to hurt the rebelling lord, you get a task(not a plea for help, mind you!) to infiltrate Revanites and as for the slaves.. well, that's the only case of you actually saving someone's *** because of the officer's incompetence.
  14. I disagree with your point. Of course if you go Dark Side all the way just for the DS points, then obviously you'll end up with some cheesy dialogues. But how about rolling a new character just for the storyline and playing it with actual choices? Turn off showing alignment gain, pick options with 1-2-3 buttons, immerse yourself in the story. What I encourage players to do is doing side quests, PvP and flashpoints and then going through all class quests on the planet in one streak uninterrupted by side grind quests. If you do that, and if you pay attention to the cutscenes and dialogues, you'll see how awesome they can be. For example - Sith Warrior(Mara/Jugg) dark side storyline on Alderaan. It was brilliant! Overall Alderaan shows the magnitude of the Empire and it's ways of dealing with planets they want to conquer by other means than just battling the republic. What you seem to fail to see is the imperial structure. It's far more complex than just "strong push weak around". It's the whole philosophy. It's ruled by a Sith. Hell, one of the greatest Sith in Star Wars universe. He's almost almighty! And he gave special rights to the other Sith. Now imagine a caste of priests or nobles having absolute control over the military. Do not forget about the Dark Side corruption that runs through their brains and, well, their immense powers. You say that you find Empire hilarious because of the sometimes tedious, overdone evil attitudes. I say that Republic sucks and in my opinion it should fall. And that's because my main is a Trooper whose storyline puts more focus on the Republic itself rather than personal plots. Let's see how it looks on every planet: Corrupt / incompetent / weak governor / leader; Understaffed crew / starving garrison / ragtag bunch of rebels; Occasionally a corrupt senator/politician that undermines whole operation for his own gain; Empire / mercenaries / pirates / gangs giving them hard time and rendering them helpless. While the Sith Empire, from Republic Trooper perspective, looks like this: strong, well trained military with high funds on high-tech toys and advanced weaponry, led by VERY competent commanders that crush all that stands in their way. AND those ****** commanders, unlike most governors/senators/other local leaders on republic settlements/planets actually answer to unified leadership of the Council and the Emperor which gives them strength of quick decisions and careful planning on their end. Troopers defect from the Republic because they don't like the indecisive leadership, arguing senate that can't agree on even most basic things and lack of support from their commanders(Ord Mantell trooper storyline). And almost all the people who defect from the Empire are spineless weaklings who can't stand the pression and violence that will lead to the war(Black Talon pretty much). Now let's sum up average Sith activity on most planets: Strong leader acting as the harbinger of Emperor's will / ambitious Sith; All the means necessary to win the war; Constant communication with the Council / Darth that oversees the whole campaign; Republic pretending it's not supporting the rebels or the force it deployed, ready to be crushed. Long story short: Republic - "oh my God, the Empire/bad guys are tearing us apart, sir, please, help us! We can't do it on our own!" Empire - "My lord, we have located the Republic / Rebel / Resistance / Pirate / Mercenary base and we're ready to slaughter them. Will you do the honors and spearhead the whole operation?" And, last thing, beware, mild spoiler from Trooper storyline: Once you break The Gauntlet, you get a holocall(or was it a conversation in person?) from the command that the Empire launched an all-out offensive and is tearing the Republic forces on all fronts. It even managed to besiege Corellia which is pretty much next to the Republic capital planet and it is helpless! Empire would do just fine without the Agent or Sith Warrior. Republic would fall apart if it wasn't for the Havoc Squad saving everyone's asses and winning their battles for them. So yeah, it's the Republic that is silly and can't be taken seriously. It's like a dying empire that crumbles from it's own incompetence, too weak to support itself, let alone stand against the Empire.
  15. Oh come on, that just looks bad in EVERY game. Bunches of copy-pasta houses stuck here and there in crappy way on a flat area dedicated only to them. Or would they look different for, let's say, different classes? Tell me more how well would a patchwork of different futuristic houses look in typical MMO player housing system. I saw the SWG player towns and they looked poopoo. I don't want such abominations in TOR. I would rather see them work on spaceship customization. Our characters sleep, eat, plan, live and romance companions in there. THIS is our player housing. Planetary player housing in TOR is a big no-no for me unless you come up with something that actually looks good.
