  1. Yeah compared to the other classes in the game AP PT burst is a massive outlier atm but personally I don't think the solution is nerfing them to the ground. I'd rather see classes like mara merc and jugg get substantially buffed to do damage at least somewhat comparable to PT. maybe we'll see this happen in 7.0 but for right now we've got at least 5 more months of AP PT and concealment being by far the best dps specs in pvp.
  2. As a returning player who almost exclusively pvps, I felt obligated to come into this thread to commend Bioware because this is one of the few times of my decade of playing the game on and off that I read a dev post and found that it actually correlated 100% to my experience. Tedious is 100% the perfect word to describe PvP right now and I find it truly encouraging that you're willing to acknowledge that and make real substantial changes to fix this. I think a lot of people who have been playing the game consistently without leaving for stints have been frog boiled into thinking the TTK is fine because its been increasing through small incremental steps, but when you see what the experience is like through fresh eyes I can tell you definitively that its way higher than it ever was before and that compared to older patches it quite frankly sucks. I experienced it myself, as did a number of my friends who I recently brought back to the game to mess around in PvP, and I saw it happen yet again on twitch today when I watched summit1g give up on the game because the PvP experience is just so boring and frustrating right now. Obviously when making changes to classes there are always multiple perspectives to consider. There are people in this thread with valid concerns regarding class identity, pve balance, and a bunch of other stuff, and while I'm not really all that qualified to comment on those areas, I can tell you definitively as someone who has spent thousands of hours playing pretty much every class in regs, ranked 8's, and arenas, that these proposed changes will go a hell of a long way towards improving the current state of the game's pvp.
  3. Seems to me that a far more consumer friendly model would be: 2 items from new pack 1 chance cube 1 rep item/cartel certificate 1 jawa scrap/companion gift or if you absolutely insist on rationing out the new, better silver and gold items at a slow pace: 1 item from new pack 2 random items from old packs (don't bother with the box in a box that may have came in a box that has the potential of giving you something that comes in a box) 1 rep item/cartel certificate (you could even randomize the rep if your metrics suggest that would sell more packs) 1 jawa scrap/companion gift Even if you got almost entirely garbage, the older cartel packs used to be fun to open because at the very least you got a lot of it. These last few have been terrible and I don't see your proposed situation improving things all that much.
  4. Given how relatively simple it would be for BW to flip the switch and start Season 7, it seems rather odd that they haven't just done it already, or at the very least, announced the date which they will. This suggests to me that ranked season 7 is likely to be different from the previous six. Ranked 8's seem out of the question, as there simply isn't a large enough population to support them without cross/megaservers, but I could see BW doing something like adjusting the number of people in each match or maybe even trying smaller scale 4v4 warzones. I seem to recall that there was some speculation about queshball being originally designed to work for 4v4's as well, and while I'm certainly no fan of Queshball, I could actually see it being slightly better with less people, particularly if they got rid of the grappling hooks. Then again, maybe one of cross/megaservers is actually coming. If that were in the pipeline then it would make a lot of sense to delay the start of a ranked season while also explaining BW's apprehension towards saying why. Or maybe they have just completely forgotten that ranked pvp exists in their game. If not, they could be waiting on an artist to become available to do a microsoft paint recolor of an existing animal mount to have as a reward. And I suppose that its also possible BW is waiting as long as they possibly can to launch Season 7 so that it can be used to add imaginary value to an otherwise weak upcoming content patch. Truly the possibilities are endless. So, what do you guys think is causing the Season 7 holdup? Personally, I have my money on the animal mount reskin. But hey, they did tell us to be on the lookout for future information regarding "Better than cross server" so for those of us who are still optimistic, I guess the dream is still alive!
  5. i believe that their inability to do this stems from some legal concerns and is, at least in BW's mind, not in the realm of possibility.
  6. why would "encouraging hoarding" be a bad decision? edit: nvm, just realized this post is just you spamming your referral link. almost had me fooled there.
  7. unfortunately it seems much more likely that the rp-pvp server designation gets removed from the game entirely
  8. Good on you for changing this but I can't shake the feeling that this has less to do with player feedback and moreso that enough time has passed that you no longer need to ration out 224 gear in an attempt to keep raiders subbed. Seems very similar to the conquest crafting situation which received tons of criticism that was ignored for like a year before the exact change tons of people advocated for got implemented.
  9. There have been plenty of nicely worded and reasonable requests to address these bugs and many others which have also been ignored by the devs. I don't think this is necessarily their fault though, it seems pretty clear to me that its company policy to simply ignore commenting on anything if it isn't 100% guaranteed to benefit them to do so. I'm sure they are well aware of stuff like the leap bug and probably can't fix it due to inherent problems with the game engine or something like that, but coming out and saying that would likely do them more harm than good, at least in their eyes.
  10. im genuinely curious if the ability to pass the ball from the bottom floor to the top was actually intentional.
  11. i didn't like AHG when it came out but its actually grown on me to the point where I actually prefer it to void star. i also found it to be really fun in 8v8 ranked back when that was still around. Queshball on the other hand is still about as terrible as it was the first time i played it.
  12. because torstatus is a totally reliable source on the actual populations of servers (its not)
  13. i must say that im really looking forward to this trainwreck.
  14. If you have lost both the side nodes and mid is still a fairly even fight, you aren't going to win the game in 99% of circumstances so yes in that case I'd rather stay mid and farm damage/heals than try to coordinate some ridiculous comeback with people that don't understand the absolute basics of the game. With that being said there are a lot of morons out there who think they are far better than they actually are who end up just hurting the team with their play, but imo, in order for one to hurt their team, their team actually has to have a chance of winning first, and the majority of warzones played simply are not like this.
